school follow say the 23-year-old security guard and another guard were urging students to get to class when mitchell approached the student, a freshman, with cerebral palsy. mitchell starts pushing the student's wheelchair and the student slapped his hand and spits in his face and mitchell snapped. he starts beating the student. mitchell was arrested if felony child abuse and spent four days in jail. we will have more on what officials have to say coming up at 5:30. this morning we hear from another young student who survived the isla vista terror a week ago today. 22-year-old elliot rodger stabbed three people to death in his apartment and drove to sororities near the campus of uc santa barbara on a mission to kill women. a member of the sorority walking home with two friends came face-to-face with elliot rodger and in this exclusive, bianca talked about what happened.

katie marzullo is in the newsroom with more on that story. katie this is on video. caught on video. the security officer was fired the day it happened. the 23-year-old mitchell is scheduled to be in judge june 13 for felony inflicting of injury to a child on may 15. it started with two security officers urging several lingering students to go to class. officials say the student in the wheelchair who is a freshman refused or wasn't moving fast enough for the officers. mitchell pushes the student's chair and he slapped mitchell's hand and mitchell handcuffed him and continues to push him until the student spits in his face. that is when mitchell starts punching the student and dumps him on the ground. >> the fact it happened to a student would has cerebral palsy only come pounds the damage and how awful this incident is. >> the second guard ultimate intervenes and restrained his

partner. oakland high school's principle apologized to the school community in a letter the day after the beating that reads in part "this incident is future reflective of the kind of culture we cherish at our school or hour we treat one another o the guard, michigan em, passed a back grudge check but now the district will implement new training to teach officers how to defuse encounters with students. plans are ready for the funeral for one of the three bay area victims of the isla vista rampage. a high school came together last night to remember an alumnus whose devastated parents vowed to take action. matt keller is at leland high school in san jose. matt? the tragedy in isla vista certainly hits home here in the south bay. three of victims are from here. all are friends leave communes behind to mourn their loss. a vigil was held last night here

at leland high school in south san francisco where george chen graduated two years ago. hundreds of people turned tout pay respects to the uc santa barbara and his family. beyond and his two friends were stabbed to death a week ago in isla vista. his mother spoke to the crowd last night and had this message. >> killing is inhuman and should be condemned. i pray we will let our young people know that love and care is awesome. it ended with george mason's favorite song "love can care for all." a memorial civil for david want is held on sunday in fremont at the harbor light church on thornton avenue starting at 5:00. an organizer wrote on facebook

that she felt it was heart warming all the people that attended the event and hopes people will have a special place if their heart for george and to remember the good times, as well. thanks, santa barbara authorities knew of the disturbing videos, they say, posted by elliot rodger before the shooting. this is con rather to what was previously reported by the sheriff. the deputies actually asked elliot rodger about the video he posted while performing a welfare check on the 22-year-old on april 30. he told the deputies they were a way of expressing himself because he had trouble fitting in. deputies thought he was not a threat to himself or others. we have continuing coverage of the story on air and online and we continue with more on twitter@. astar-studdedgroupofwe celebri.
