since then no one has been allowed behind the yellow tape and all activity is centered in an apartment behind the blue tent you can see. of you take a look at the video, you can see fbi agents in protective suits and maximums. an fbi spokesman says they came to serve a search warrant as part of a federal criminal investigation. however, this is not an rarity warrant but a search warrant. the apartment was vacant. neighbors say it was occupied as a single man, and our cameras were there as the agents spent hours examining the apartment. the bright something out into -- brought something out into the courtyard. >> i thought it looked like identity day in the city. i thought they were filming a movie. >> there is no risk to public safety.

and that the protective equipment that you see is for agent safety, precautionary measures. reporter: no one living in the area was evacuated. the couldn't access the parking garage or use the jackson street entrance to their building. the san francisco police department helped secure the seen and it does seem they're wrapping up. they were packing up gear and we have also seen them closely examining some of the things they found inside of that apartment. at one point even a portable x-ray machine was used. the fbi has not told us at this hour what they were looking for or what they found but we will continue to follow this developing story. san francisco, tiffany wilson, abc7 news. today residents of treasure island were told there would be more radiation testing done to verify the safety of their homes. nick smith is live from treasure island with residents.

found man injured on the front porch. witness says several people ran off after shots were fired. flames quickly engulfed a play structure at loma vista elementary in vallejo today. investigators are looking for what started the fire. they estimate the flames caused $25,000 worth of damage. officials say six hikers missing on mt. rainier in washington are likely dead, including a man reportedly from california. that announcement came in the last hour. today park rangers and helicopters spotted the group's hiking gear. they believe the six were caught in an avalanche. four hikers and two guides were supposed to return after reaching the summit thursday. the "seattle times" reports the lead guy is from truckey. he has climbed mt. rainier more

than 50 times. a report filed in court says the enemy health system for prisoners is inadequate and inmates with severe mental illness did not receive enemy care or medication and return to prison too soon. the report cabbed would state struck hospitals and four hospitals within state prisons. the california department of corrections has not commented yet. a chicken processing plant in merced county is suing a pest troll company after being forced some shut done because of cockroaches. foster farms has filed a lawsuit against orecken saying it did not fulfill the roach contract. three foster farm sites were threatened to be shut down. already this year cases of whooping cough have surpassed last year.
