drivers come in at 7:00. that is when he says he expects to see the delay happen. half of the muni service is not expected to be available. we are at west portal and we notice many trains gone outbound to downtown but we are noticing outbound toward the sunset is where we are seeing the laws and they put the priority more on inbound to get them downtown but they are showing a 45-minute wait until the next one and that will be interesting. that is when the drama could start. they have redirected their drivers and redistributed the ones who came in to try to evenly spread out the service around the city as necessary and try to balance it. the folks say they want to give credit to those who came in today, and this is all because of a labor dispute over the contract and these workers are not allowed to call in sick and that because of a proposition that was passed a few years ago

police in walnut creek arrested a man for suspected trying to steal an a.t.m. with a crowbar yesterday to steal this a.t.m. machine. when officers arrived they ended up finding him hiding in the ceiling. investigator say he has tried to steal the same a.t.m. twice before. police arrested a woman would was circling the area in her car and speaking with the suspect on her cell phone. governor brown is maintaining his huge lead ahead of tomorrow's primary election. he is seeking a fourth term in office the irs governor this california history to reach that mark. the opponent will likely be one of two republicans, tim donnelly of san bernardino or kashkari, with a poll finding 32 percent

support kashkari and 21 percent of backing done any and 17 percent republicans back brown. >> the san francisco mayor will rent the biggest budget ever to the board of supervisors this morning. according to the chronicle the $8.6 billion spending includes $94 million to build affordable housing in the city the next two years and that includes hiring 150 health care workers. a new hospital opens in december of 2015. the budget for the next fiscal year is $700 million more than the current one that ends june 30. he wants to hire 1,400 new city workers including 300 believes and 96 firefighters and spend $135 million for public schools and add 500 new slots for public preschool bringing the total to 4,100. the oakland police department says it will review records to see if any officers

covering walnut creek, burlingame, campbell and all the bay area this is abc7 news. >> you are looking at traffic in the east bay and interstate 680 in the walnut creek area with tail lights headed southbound it is okay but getting closer to the city there could be problems not the least of which is muni. a six yield boy is dead and a young girl is fighting for her life after being stabbed at a new york city apartment complex. police say the children were play at the complex in brooklyn and were attacked before five o'clock last night. the boy was reportedly found in an elevator. his friend the seven-year-old girl was stabbed more than 15 times. police recovered a knife and have a suspect description but so far no arrests have been made. >> documents released by former national security administration contractor edward snowden reveal the agency is collecting millions of pictures a day to

"new york times" reports the agency is getting a flood of imams from intercepted e-mails and text messages and social media and so on to feed the fable recognition program. it is unclear how many images have been acquired. a spokesman says that the agency programs are within the law. >> a just released study says soda tax should be changed to tax the calories drinks not the size. the study from the robert johnson foundation found consumers would drink fewer calories in drinks not taxes were based on calories. right now, most soda tax is businesses on the size of the drink. the study author says the harmful part is the sugar, it makes senator to tax -- sense to tax that ingredient. there be would a two cent tax based on the size of drink.

palo alto with throw people hit, it happened near oakwood drive before 9:30 last night. police were notified by the shotspotter gunshot detection system. arriving officers found a 36-year-old east palo alto man suffering from injuries to his torso and shortly after that, two shooting victims were roped off at local hospitals. so far, no arrests. >> extra police are on hand at oakland elementary school after an attack on a student on friday at lafayette elementary. police say a parent came on the campus and hit a mine-year-old girl with a hammer. the mother of a second grader at the school and police are trying to determine if the attack stemmed great a long-standing feud between the woman and the victim's family. the injured student went to the hospital but is expected to be okay. >> an american soldier kidnapped by the taliban in afghanistan five years ago is enjoy his new found freedom in germany.
