abc7 news begins with breaking news. a police command truck is in the middle of a sun any veil street as authorities investigate an officer-involved shooting. good morning, i am katie marzullo. >> i am kristen sze. >> two schools in the area were briefly under lockdown. they have been lifted. several streets shut down an area with matt keller joining us with the latest. matt? >> this is an active scene. investigators are around the home where this took place on

mott with a crime scene vehicle brought in and a s.w.a.t. vehicle is in the front yard. here is what happened at 9:00 this morning. officers including members of the s.w.a.t. team were serving a search warrant as part of a homicide investigation and confronted the suspect in the house. officers say he ignored orders and showed a weapon and an officer or officers opened fire. he was taken to the medical center where he died. officers were prepared for a possible violent confrontation. >> based on the fact i was a homicide investigation we had concerns that there would be some difficult encountered. >> this is video from sky 7, the d public safety is not saying what type of weapon the suspect had when he was confronted. investigator say the man was suspected of a homicide initially a missing persons case. they say it was not recent but did not give details. the investigation and search are

still taking place at home. the district attorney is on scene investigating the officer involved shooting. as for the area several roads are blocked off and the investigation will take several more hours. more breaking news, a heavy police presence in oakland after a shooting in front of a church with 20 shell casings on the ground at mount sinai missionary baptist church. police are on the scene of the location and 73rd street. there is no word on victims or suspects. drivers are advised to stay out of the area. >> developing news in san jose, police are investigating a murder mystery. at 1:20 the body of a man was found lying partly on the road in a rural area. police say the man had been stabbed and had significant physical injuries. they trying to determine if he

was stabbed there or killed somewhere else and his body dumped. he is called or thought to be his pang. >> in half moon bay a young woman was shout by a sheriff -- shot by a her againty. >> fresh flowers and tribute to the 18-year-old shot and killed by a sheriff deputy. >> last knew, -- night 100 attended a vigil. cigar gar was caring and she did not have to die. >> cannot just shoot someone that has a medical condition. it is frustrating. >> they could have tazed her. or shot her in the leg. >> the family says she suffered from depression and was taking

medication. they are asking for an honest investigation. >> there were reports after woman with a myself and a witness says the woman quickly turned the knife on the deputy. we agreed not to show the witness' face on the camera. >> i saw her chasing the cop with the knife in herman holding it like this. i just saw him shoot her. >> the sheriff says that deputy's actions were justified. >> he was in a position where a woman was wielding a knife to the point he was in fear for his life. in that split second decision, moment, he fired. >> no one answered the door today but we know the family has contacted an attorney. in new york city, 34 people are recovering, 23 of them firefighters after a five-alarm fire on staten island.

>> south africa police say video from a camera mounted on the bicyclist helmet led to the arrest of an armed robber and two other thieves who stole the mountain bicycle, car keys and cell phone. the bicyclist say it happened on saturday during a bicycle ride. he says the thieves did not know what the camera was although the gunman looks into the camera lens on the helmet so they took off with everything else and left him with wonderful evidence for miss. >> not everyone is chicking -- clicking "like" on the new facebook feature where you can listen through the smartphone microphone what going on around you. if the app recognizes the music or tv program it posts it. a last people are calling this "creepy." more than 500,000 people have

where the indians will operate this morning and the senior class is going out with 79 degrees at 6:30 and dropping to 56 by 9:30. congratulations to all the students and their parents. fairfield is 16 miles per hour with faster wind and along the coast and we have the small craft advisory north of the bay bridge through the delta at 15 to 25 knots for the wind pushing the cloud cover into the north bay and it is evaporating because of the showers this morning. the winds are mid-to-upper 50's at half moon bay and san francisco and low-to-mid 60's until you get to mountain view and san jose and low 70's there, and 78 in los gatos, a warm spot along with livermore and antioch flirting with 80 and same in san ramon. notice how the sea breeze is stronger today so we are seeing more cloud cover along the coast and into san francisco and we will call it hazy sunshine and warmer especially inland today with helped fog and comfortable overnight and that is even this weekend when above average highs will hit most areas.

look at the golden gate bridge for an idea of how localized the sea breeze is, you can hardly see a thing. as far as our set up you can see the trough inland is what is drawing the stronger sea breeze in today because of the rising air in the central valley. we have a warm dome of air offer the tough us and where the sea breeze doesn't get, places like los gatos and morgan hill and gilroy we are in the mid-to-upper 80's otherwise to the mid-80's in the south. 82 in los altos, and low 60's loan the coast and mid-to-upper 60's downtown and south san francisco and sauce lady and the sea breeze keeps petaluma at 75, and 68 in richmond and 78 in fremont. we are at mid-90's inland. inland we are in the 90's for at least seven days. we will stay in the 80's around the bay. warming mostly this weekend and the coast will stay comfortable in the low-to-mid 60's. hope you have a great day. >> thank you, mike, we have a
