it will start to cool down by tuesday. i'll have the full accuweather seven-day forecast coming up in a little bit. >> and firefighters are urging caution this morning after a lunn mower sparked a fair in the east bay. abc7 news reporter lisa amin gulezian has details from berkeley. >> mostly >> the fire started in a field moments after a caretaker fired up his mow to mow this grass. >> crazy, trying to mow two foot high grass in the middle of the day, i should have had more sense. >> i was trying dot right thing. he just did it at the wrong time and it was causing a fire danger.

parkway. this picture shows them putting out quite a bit of black smoke. at berkeley two people are recovering from injuries after being shot. it happened at the laquinta inn just before 7:00 last night. some sort of party was taking place at the hotel at the time. no word on the victims or any arrests. developing news it in oakland. police are investigating a triple shooting that left one person dead. it happened around cool 30 last night. a woman died at the scene. she has not been identified. two men were also shot. they were taken to the hospital. their conditions are not no one. no word yet on any suspects or arrests. a square at the hayward bart station after two groups of teenager fire shots at each other. police are cracking down on youth violence in the east bay. sergio quintana has details. >> reporter: it's not clear if the shooting is connected to any

incidents over the last week, but police say it involves a large group of young people who seem to gather at a particular place and then violence erupted. we were invited to ride along with bob from the san san leando police department who is one of the team leaders. >> we want to affect the arrests of the formal or informal leadership of the group when they commit crimes. >> in hayward police say shots were fired between two large groups of teens at the bart station parking lot. there are no reports of any injuries, but police have recovered six bullet casings. this is the latest in the string of incidents the last few weeks, including a kidnapping in san leandro and a large group of unruly teens last week at bayfield mall. >> it took a large group of officers to go guy and escort the group out to make sure that they didn't create any more crime or intimidate anybody. >> curtis wilson works at the

mall. he said that wasn't the first time. >> sometimes they break, sometimes they steal, sometimes it's terrorizing other customers or the people. >> the two tenant said the aim of the task force is to quickly mobilize lots of officers from all departments. they want to make arrests if necessary, but they are really hoping that the teens get the message that their behavior wouldn't be tolerated. abc7 news. police are still searching for an inmate who escaped from the san mateo county jail. yesterday an inmate was while the guard was taking out the trash. after tracy morgan remains in intensive care and the driver who slammed into his bus has been charged with murder.

unconstitution until because it discriminates. the wisconsin's attorney general says she's going appeal the decision. this morning a story about a bay area woman who wanted to plan ahead for her own cremation and wound up locked in a contract she couldn't afford. certainly added stress to an already emotional time of life. mike finney stepped up to help. >> joanne stewart is trying to recover from a painful operation. at the same time she's trying to plan for her death. >> because i wanted to surprise my children, one thing they didn't have to do for me. >> joanne doesn't want to burden her two daughters for funeral services and expenses so she arranged things herself. >> i believe it was over the internet. >> an e-mail so list station

asked if she was interested in cremation. she said yes. a person came to her home and explained the services. >> they would give me a box, they would notify my children. >> joanne paid up front to avoid finance charges and she signed a blank contract letting the salesperson fill in the rest. that's when things went wrong. >> i kept getting bills. $300 more. >> the bill said the plan cost $1,652, not 1200. joanne called the salesperson right away. >> i said my deal with you was $1,200, and she said i'll be right there. she made an appointment. i dropped my own plans. she never showed up. >> she contacted company headquarters. a manager said the contract was for $1,652. joanne tried to get a copy but said she was ignored. >> i said i want my money back because how do i know that when

i do die you don't hit my children with -- well, your mom can't have this because she still o's this much money. >> we contacted smart cremation and their parent company in texas. they sent joanne a contract. turns out southeast on a finance plan with monthly payments and interest due but they said they wouldn't hold her to it. they said they will process the contract as written. when we said the customer recalled the terms differently, we offered to honor the smart plan on the terms she recalled. we were disappointed we were not able to assist this customer but was able to have the opportunity to resolve as she wished. she received the refund for the full $1,200 which she gave to her children. >> it was so frustrated to go through this and not accomplish

this morning scientists are tracking a huge astroid expected to pass by earth today. nicknamed the beast because of its size it is expected to pass almost 800,000 miles of thering. that's three times farther away from the moon but pretty close for an astroid that big. the beast is estimated to be between 800 and 1300 feat wide moving at a speed of 31,000 miles an hour. n.a.s.a. said there is zero chance of impact. and that is the only part of that i can comprehend. >> when it's called the beast, you hope it is passing by the earth. that fast, that big, that far away. >> yeah. we don't want to go a target. >> i know. >> maybe we will see california chrome again. hopefully. let's see what is happening right now. we are looking at a little bit of fog there right at the golden gate bridge. take a look at that. reduced visibility, especially

along the coast. the fog will eventually melt away later on this morning when the sun comes out. we will be experiencing a shallow marine layer for today. in fact as we take a look at live doppler 7hd we don't have clouds. nothing in terms of a rainmaker. but we will have the fog that will stick with us. especially along the coast. that will keep things relatively cool. a look from the exploratorium camera. a look toward the financial district in san francisco. you see how clear it is. current temperatures right now, san francisco 53 degrees. 55 oakland and 57 in san carlos. going to be in the upper 50s near san jose. morgan hill 52 degrees and cooler at half moon bay at 50 degrees. you take a look there. a gorgeous shot. the first light coming up over the east bay hills. air quality is going to be not so good today. in fact we are look at a spare the air today but tree pollen, moderate levels. weed and mold, and grass is also

moderate with a high u. v. index. pack the sunscreen if you are heading out for activities today. by the coast lower visibility and warmer inland. we have at&t park right now. it's going to be the giants taking on the mets. game starts at 1:05 this afternoon. again, bring the sunscreen. temperatures will be roughly about 77 degrees by the start of the game. also we have the san mateo county fair. we are starting off at 78 degrees and 3:00 p.m. 86 degrees but the temperatures really coming up by this afternoon and this evening. it will cool down and then you will start to see some of the fog rolling back in. when we've got is a trough of low pressure that's coming in from the west coast. that's going to be pushing in and then moving out. by tuesday we will see temperatures decreasing even more with the marine layer increasing and also an on shore

flow increasing. by friday we will actually see a warmup. but if you are heading out today you will see temperatures roughly in the 90s in the south bay along the peninsula. it's going to be pretty warm there as well and toasty. san francisco 9 degrees. if you are heading farther downtown by the coast, temperatures will be almost ten degrees cooler. in the north bay you will see triple digits. as a matter of fact, 102 degrees. in cloverdale 103. and calistoga, especially in the north and east bay hills, temperatures will be pretty high. 86 degrees at berkeley, 87 degrees san leandro. castro valley 90 degrees inland. again, warm temperatures there. 101 in antioch. so it's going to be quite warm indeed. and our overnight lows it's going to be pretty much in the mid-to upper 50s. my accuweather seven-day forecast, you will see the temperatures will be nice and warm today. again, tomorrow with a cool down on tuesday. and that's going to last through thursday, only to warm back up for the weekend. >> letter.

caribbean. jim is the organizer. he gave us this video to use. >> we are raising money for a program to help children learn how to swim. >> although haiti is an island, hundreds of kids drown each year. too poor to focus on property safety. he is start a swim on a tiny island and ending on the western coast an hour from the capitol from port-au-prince. they are ready for any hazard. >> we have guards and we have anti-jellyfish lotion. i had no problems at all. one woman had a little bit of jellyfish on her lips but kept on swimming. >> after the swim jim tells me he saw sharks but they posed no threat. not like the conditions. >> we weren't expecting four to five foot waves. >> those waves beat them up for three hours. when the swimmers finally reached shore, they were exhausted but elated.

to dissipate later on this morning. the current temperatures in santa rosa, 50 degrees napa. upper 50s fairfield, concord and livermore. and then those temperatures are going to reach the triple digits. so it will get downright hot. as we take a look at california's highs for today, 103 degrees in chico, 105 in sacramento, 106 fresno. 112 in palm springs. that's toasty. the weekend for san jose, it will be hot today. temperatures will go down a little tomorrow. it will be above average for the next couple of days. and then come tuesday we are actually going to start to see a below average temperature swing as you make it between tuesday and thursday with temperatures coming right back up for friday and into the weekend. in livermore again triple digits and then you start to see the temperatures drop. all due to an on shore flow and also a low trough that's going to be coming in. you see we have the low trough that's heading right our way and that will hit us by tuesday. then it will be followed by a
