it was red. >> reporter: the collision was just days after mayor quan was caught # -- on her facebook pages, the mayor posted this evening i was driving in east oakland when another driver struck my rear tire. i immediately pulled over to make sure no one was hurt. it appeared that everyone was all right and their well-being was my first priority. oakland police are investigating avenue a pedestri pedestrian was hit by one of their officers. police say a pedestrian was crossing the street when that person was hit. the person was taken to the hospital after complaining of pain, no word on the condition. investigators say the officer was not responding to a call when the accident happened. >> a series of hit and run accidents in san francisco last

night forced police to close part of market for several hours. here's video from downtown san francisco. it happened around 8:30. one of the pedestrians suffered life-threatening injuries. police found the abandoned car a few blocks away. so far no sign of the driver. san francisco muni officials say there will not be another sickout among -- muni and it's workers unions are at odds. three days of sick outs last week delayed or stranded thousands of bay area riders. muni is giving the union a week to reach a deal. >> our main goal is to put together an agreement that is fair to our operators and if we

can't move forward with an agreement by june 15, our operators won't be able to get a raise. >> last week alone muni had to cancel about 700 routes. the city councilmember won a runoff election. cortez carried a union-led reform package into the primary and it promised changes to read fiscal reform policy. >> we have breaking news, firefighters are on the scene of an aggressive fire in san francisco near third and hudson. amy hollyfield is live with the

latest. amy? >> reporter: you can see behind me, they have got this building surrounded, look at this ladder truck making sure that the top of the building is okay and isn't flaring up again. but they do think they have a handle on this fire. this started inside, they believe it started inside a dry-clean dry-cleaners. mcafee's dry-cleaners on third. there is a residence on top of the dry-cleaners so their first priority when they got here was to search that home and to make sure that no one was trapped inside. they determined it was clear, there were no people in there, so their next priority was to keep this from spreading. some of the fire did spread to the construction site next door. at this point, though, no people

involved, no one was home in that residence and they think it might even be empty. it might not even have anyone living there. no one at the dry-cleaner at the time obviously, it was closed. so everyone was okay, just a lot of property damage here to see what later on this morning and right now firefighters staying on the scene to make sure this fire doesn't flare back up. 4:34 now. new details on the deadly ambush attack on two las vegas police officers. police combed an apartment overnight that belonged to at least one of the suspects. a las vegas paper is reporting that investigators found white extremist paraphernalia inside the home. a man and a woman walked into a pizza restaurant and gunned down two officers at point-blank range. police say the female suspect

then shot her partner before taking her own life. witnesses told police the shooter said, quote, this is a revolution during their attack. the man hunt continues this morning for the gunman who shot and kill at 15-year-old girl in oakland. it happened late saturday night. the girl was riding in a car with two men in their 20s. police say a gunman opened fire as the vehicle passed him hitting all three people inside. the girl was declared dead at the scene. the male passenger is in stable condition and the driver is in critical condition. about two miles away and 90 minutes later, a separate shooting killed a 24-year-old man near foothill boulevard. police don't have a system or possible motive. a little girl in san jose is hospitalized this morning after police say she fell four stories out of a window.

it happened at these apartments at king and may berry road. investigators were told the 5-year-old girl fell through the screen and landed in some bushes. the girl was alert and conscious when paramedics got there. fire crews are on alert. officials are warning that the continuing heat is making for prime fire conditions. they say the smallest spark can turn into a big problem. air quality is another concern, prompting officials to declare another spare the air day today. >> when we see these high heat days, that combines with tail pipe exhaust and also low winds and that creates smog. >> this is the fifth spare the air day since may. last year there were only six all summer. so it was cool last summer.

especially at half moon bay. everybody else less than 5-mile-per-hour to calm this morning. so not only is it warm, but the air is not really moving. the flags were moving on the ferry building, but now they're just barely blowing. that's kind of the key to today's forecast, without that sea breeze, we're going to have near record warmth especially in the east bay neighborhoods where we came within a couple of degrees yesterday. the sea breeze develops tomorrow and then we'll develop a marine layer. let's take a look at today's temperatures, as first we show you the effects on the clouds. you see this little swirl right here. that's going to start to develop those clouds as we head into the afternoon hours. and that's why i think the coast won't be quite as warm as it was yesterday, maybe not quite as sunny. it will still be in the 70s and 80s around the bay.
