believe they have everyone who was involved in the case in custody. they did say they do not think the public is at risk any longer. >> police are full of relief today now they have found these three children alive and well. officers say they had exhausted the leads in the case and leaded to make a public plea through the media yesterday for help. >> they will not say what happened next. they found the kids last night along with their per, 35-year-old alicia ortez and her acquaintance, inside a richmond home. >> currently, the mother is in custody for homicide with a male companion subject who is in custody for the homicide. >> necessity accused of killing the children's father found shot to death in the yard of his san pablo home. the children were missing. >> the father had custody of the children and it appears to be that the -- i have not seen a

curt document but that is who they were living with. >> miss say they are doing interviews and are not releasing the man accused of murder. they have not charged the pair with kidnapping the children but will rule it out. >> we are mainly focusing on the homicide itself and bring the children to a safe place. >> i asked if the children have any other family members who can take care of them. the officer would only say that the children were okay and are in good spirits and doing what they can to meet their needs. >> on peninsula a person is under arrest for murder. it happened in redwood city at 8:15 last night. the sheriff deputies say one were was arrested. so for they have not released the way the victim was killed or a motive. >> parents are reuniting with students outside portland,

oregon, after a shooting on campus. gunman is dead but so is a student about 20 minutes east of portland. our news anchor is in the newsroom. >> the police updated us with a news conference and they say the situation is stabilized. that means no more active shooters inside the high school campus. they have to find out why this gunman picked a victim inside this school on this june morning. >> today is tragic for the school district. >> it struck at 8:00 when police were called to a report of shots fired at the reynolds high school in oregon. >> a gunman entered the high school this morning, shot one student. unfortunately, that student has died. the gunman was located. the gunman is also deceased. >> result was near chaos. neither police or school staff

son call and said he was okay. much more on the story ahead. in the newsroom for abc7 news. >> deputies in san jose have arrested this map following a small fire on mount hamilton last night. the 31-year-old man is in custody facing arson and drug charms. the sheriff said he was arrested at a camp site. the fire broke out after 10:00 last night and burned two acres before crews knocked it down. deputies are trying to figure whether it was started by an illegal pot grow. >> a tragic mistake in afghanistan may have led to the deaths of five u.s. service member and an afghan soldier in the southern province of afghanistan. united states forces on the ground were ambushed and called for air support. sources say this was a miscommunication of the exact location and a bomb was drop on the wrong pot by a united states bomber. if confirmed this could be the

worst friendly fire incident in 14 years. >> san francisco police arrested two sisters accused of running a sex trafficking ring out of two richmond homes. they told undercover agents that they brought in new girls every week to the homes on 7th and another on geary boulevard. >> a los angeles judge ruled that the tenure protection for public school teachers is unconstitutional and nine students said tenure and seniority made it impossible to fire bad teachers. lawyers say the changes would allow the firing of teacher oz a whim. the decision could have wide-ranging impact on how california hires and fires teachers and could spur changes in other states with strong tenure laws. >> the city council will consider a plan today to transform downtown into a major transit hundred and a potential site for a new a's ballpark. one of the biggest changes will be at the diridon station.
