[ male announcer ] if you can't afford your medication, astrazeneca may be able to help. >> an explosion rocks a quiet mobile home park in hayward killing a man neighbors describe as a nice guy. good morning thanks for joining us. >> firefighters had to break down the door to get inside. it happened early this morning in a mobile home park in hayward. abc 7 news is there. nick? >> reporter: this has been emotional for everyone in this mobile home hunt. if you look behind me you can see residents have already started to leave flowers. the unit is a loss. all that remains is the charred

waterlogged shell of the motor home once occupied by a guy neighbors called mike. >> actually what i heard first was a boom. >> all i could see was like the fire was way up in the air. >> reporter: the explosion from inside this burning mobile home shook the ground and sent residents running to the streets to investigate. the flames were visible blocks away. >> i saw flames. i didn't see smoke. i saw flames. then one of our other neighbors had came over and said mike's trailer caught on fire. >> reporter: the intensity of the heat strong enough to keep everyone back. fire crews got to the scene within minutes of getting the 3:00 a.m. call. they forced their way in but too late to save the man living inside. neighbors tell me this morning the home belonged to a man in his 50s named mike. he wore casts on his foot and may have had mobility issues. >> crews made forced entry. located the victim within 10 feet of the door.

>> i just knew him. i he in veer seen any family members visiting him. >> reporter: it took the team less than 20 minutes to extingish the blaze and start the overall investigation where crews smoked smoldering debris for hot spots. at that remains is the shell of a building that was once home to a man residents described as a nice guy in his 50s who lived alone. >> it's kind of sad. officials have not said what started the fire and have not determined what was the cause of death for the man that they found inside telling me that their investigation continues. happening now san francisco police are on the scene of a shooting at 15th and mission. happened about 90 minutes ago. one person was wounded and taken to the hospital. the extent much their injuries has not been released. no word on a suspect. >> san jose police are hoping witnesses will come forward to identify the shooter in a murder near kelly park. officers responded last night to

rorgts of people fighting on south 12th. they arrived to find a young hispanic male with one dwun shot wound pep died at the scene. police think the shoot cigarette gang-related but so far not identified any suspects. this is san jose's 19th homicide of the year. developing news now from fremont where police need your help to find a missing woman they consider to be at risk because she's in need of her medication. the 55-year-old woman was last seen in fremont yesterday afternoon. at the time she was wearing a head scarf and traditional indian dress. >> president obama held a news conference this morning on the crisis in iraq and how the u.s. will respond. he said american troops will not be going in and his team is preparing a series of openings to help iraq fight terrorists trying to take over the country. karen traverse reports. >> reporter: president obama said the u.s. military alone cannot fix the problem. >> the united states will do our part.

but understand that ultimately it's up to the iraqis as a sovereign nation to solve their problems. >> reporter: speaking at the white house the president said he asked his national security team to prepare a range of options that could help the iraqi security forces. not on that list. >> we'll not be sending u.s. troops back into combat. >> reporter: the situation in iraq has grown more tense in recent days. fighters from iraq and syria made their way through northern iraq taking control of a fast swath of territory. they now threaten the capital of baghdad. these fighters have a long track record of brutality, so bad that even al qaeda has distanced itself. their goal is to establish a strict islamic state in the region. videos posted on youtube show thousands of iraqi soldiers is your rendering leaving their american slide weapons and vehicles behind. >> this poses a danger to iraq

and its people and given the nature of these terrorists it can pose a threat to american interests as well. >> reporter: president obama said the u.s. military and american people made huge sacrifices and investments in iraq and now the government there needs to show they are doing something to reduce tensions before the u.s. gets involved. karen traverse, abc news, washington. the army sergeant held prisoner for five years by the taliban in afghanistan is back in the united states today. the plane carrying bowe bergdahl landed at brook army medical center in texas overnight. military officials say bergdahl will continue the re-integration process he began in germany. bergdahl was exchanged for five high-profile taliban leaders last month. members of bergdahl's platoon accused him of desertion. >> new jersey governor chris christie is in the bay area raising money for fellow republicans and showing support for governor brown's competition. the new jersey governor says he

happening now there it goes a luxury mansion in texas burning to the ground, fire crews set it on fire on purpose this morning after homeowners gave permission. we've been showing this waterfront home dangling over the edge of a cliff for the past couple of days. homeowners decided to let it burn it down instead of letting it collapse into lake whitney. it's teetering about 75 feet over the water. here's a live look at it now. it's smoldering. once the home stops burning crews will tear the rest of it down. homeowners now in florida dealing with personal issues. the home was inspected before it was purchased.

they say they are devastated by what happened to it. >> so sad to watch that happen. actor harrison ford has undergone chest x-rays after an accident while filming the new "star wars" movie. he was airlifted to the hospital after being crushed. initial reports were that ford only injured his averagele but now several media outlets report ford also had tests on his chest to assess the severity of his injuries. the producers say shooting for "star wars" will continue while the 71-year-old recupperates. >> the federal government will auction $18 million of cold hard virtual cash. 29,000 virtual bit coins were seized from the silk world website. it's not backed by gold, silver or any other commodity. since there's no physical coin what's being auctioned are sets of numbers registered in an online ledger. bit coins will be auctioned off
