woods and search crews are looking for a 9-year-old girl who is out there somewhere. good evening. i'm dan ashley. they had hoped to find her before night fall, but nothing. here is who they are so desperately trying to find, ida roth child. the girl's family is staying at samuel p state park where the search started this afternoon. tiffany wilson is there live tonight. tiffany, no one wants ida . >> they do not, but tonight there is a full moon and it is offering a little more help for the search crews. ida was last seen in a pink terry cloth dress with whiteflo. not much protection against the temperature that is supposed to dip down into the 40s and 50s. but deputies say that temperature is survivable. have you seen this face? have you seen this child? questions these fathers spent hours asking. >> somebody got to find her.

i know her parents are devastated by the situation. >> what was going through your mind when you were calling out, ida? ida? >> it is scary. it is a scary moment. >> members of the california conservation corp helped look for ida roth child. she was last seen at her family's camp site around noon. this evening marin -- marine deputies brought in search dogs to track her scent. ida's mother got into the car an anxiously waiting for a sign of her daughter. >> we were looking at ravines and thought, wow, this is scary. >> emily mitchell is keeping a close eye on her two sons. the roth childs came to samuel p taylor for a weekend camp out. this morning 9-year-old ida played with other children at the camp site when her parents looked up, she was gone. >> we don't believe there was any foul play. >> they are look at every car

entering and exiting the park. they are focused on the perimeter around the camp. >> the family is from new mexico, but ida grew up in marin county and it was supposed to be a fun family vacation for ida, her parents and her two younger brothers. and now they desperately want her home. more than a hundred people are expected to search throughout the night and into the morning hours or until they find ida. tiffany wilson, abc7 news. >> those folks will not quit. a dog walker is facing animal abuse charges after authorities say she left eight dogs in her van and went shopping in the mall. an alert shopper found the dogs inside the unattended van in san francisco. as she took the photos and shared them with a a bc7 news, the woman called authorities worried the dogs were in danger. animal care and control cited the unidentified dog walker for leaving them in a vehicle without proper ventilation. amtrak service through richmond is back on schedule

tonight after a train slammed into a tractor-trailer. this accident happened two miles north of the richmond station after 4:00. the truck entered the track way before the crossing arms went down. the driver was not able to get out of the train's path in time. he was not hurt, however. the 131 people who were on board the san juaquin route train from bakersfield to oakland were okay as well. a fast-moving wildfire lead to tense moments in san rave tie yell this afternoon -- in san rafael this afternoon. >> you can feel the tension understandably. one frustrated resident was arrested after he threw his car keys at firefighters demanding they save his burning house. the homeowners' deck was lost, but the house was saved. 100 firefighters did battle and managed to contain the fire near the con tempo marin mobile home park to about 12 acres of grass land. a close call for firefighters in san jose where

crews stopped a grassfire from burning a house and embers sparked an awning near moore park and college drive and highway 280. you can see firefighters on the roof. they got it under control quickly. all right, to the growing concern about militants taking control in iraq. tonight president obama is ruling out boots on the ground, but they are ready to use the military. 1k3 for the families of so many civilian contractors working in iraq, this is a very worrisome time. sergio is here and american contractors are now scrambling to get out. >> yeah, most u.s. troops left iraq in december of 2011, but there are still thousands of contractors there. quite a few are security personnel and others are firefighters and trainers. according to one california contractor he and about six others have been trying to get out for most of the week. militants calling themselves the islamic state in iraq and syria or isis posted

propaganda video showing fighters celebrating the capture of tanks used by the iraqi military. fighters pushed south taking over tikrit and moving toward bolad on their way toward baghdad. the united states contractors have been trying to get out of danger for days. >> my brother said the company that they were trying to get, they are basically unable to find any commercial or private companies willing to fly in. >> mitchell mccann has been in close contact with his brother, michael, a firefighter and private contractor with sally port global. he says there has been no u.s. military support there. so may cal r me social media to focus more attention to their plight. he started a twitter # balad600, a reference to the number of u.s. contractors reportedly stranded there. michael made it to baghdad today, but communications hit another problem there. >> he was in balad he was able

to access facebook and twitter, but in the city of baghdad, the government has blocked facebook and twitter. he just has text. >> right now michael is on his way to dubai, but it is not clear if all 600 contractors have made it out of the danger zone. abc7 news. this next story you will see only on abc7 news. neighbors in san francisco's vernal heights are fed up with raw sewage flooding their homes and the city doing nothing about it. five homes have had problems since 2009. homeowners paid $20,000 each to replace floors, walls, ceilings and furniture.it happe it happened most recently last winter on two occasions. smelly black water came up through toilets and bathtubs. >> i was standing here bailing away and i am in there bailing away. i am getting water up to here. the next few days i had rashes and everything. >> the city has denied the claims saying homeowners are responsible for maintaining lines and connecting their homes to the sewer main under

regional airport are going to become the subjects of a government test of airport congestion whether they like it or not. the tsa wants to track their smartphones and other wi-fi gadgets to determine how quickly or slowly they move through security. the tsa says they -- the tracking system that they will use will not deploy -- it will not collect travelers' personal information. the san jose world cup party starts bright and early tomorrow morning. organizers spent most of the day setting up in plaza de cesar chavez. it will start at 8:30 in the morning, a half hour before the first game. they hope as many as 2,000 will come out. the fans will watch the game on a giant 10 foot by 20 foot screen. and the screen is already up at san francisco's civic center plaza. they will show games tomorrow there. when the u.s. plays ghana and tuesday when mexico plays brazil. they will also show the other

in napa and novato. very mild in the inland east bay. 66 concord and 62 currently in livermore. here is one other live picture from the sutro tower camera. fine weather for father's day. ng a cooler start to the workweek. today's temperatures did come up into the low 60s to the mid80s. a nice warm up. we will continue to go up as we head into your saturday. mild to warm weather expected with high pressure still controlling our weather. we will see some changes on sunday and monday and cooling down as this area of low pressure and the cold front come in. not expecting rain and certainly a dip in the temperatures. here is the trend for livermore. average high is about 80 degrees and well above the arrange -- well above average. the temperatures dip a little more so on monday and then warming it right back up again for the middle to latter part of the -- of next week. tomorrow morning starting off pretty clear. maybe a patch or two of fog
