san francisco. so enjoy the warmth today. a return to a stronger on shore push tomorrow. we will talk about that and the cool down coming up in a few minutes. matt. >> thanks, lisa. developing news out of marin county where a search continues this morning for a nine-year-old girl visiting from new mexico. ida rothschild has been missing since yesterday. the girl's family is staying in a state park. we have more on the search. >> have you seen this face? have you seen this child? questions these fathers spent hours asking. >> somebody's got to find her. i know her parents is devastated by the situation. >> what was going through your mind when you were calling out ida, ida? >> i couldn't imagine if it was my daughter. it's a scary moment. >> members of the california conservation cots looked for ida. she was last seen at her campsite add noon.

they brought in search dogs to track her scent while her mother got into a car anxiously looking for her daughter. the rothschild's came to the park for a weekend camp out. nine-year-old ida played with other children at the campsite. when her parents looked up, she was gone. >> we have no reason to believe there is any foul play involved. >> however, they are looking at every camera extra attackerritying and entering the park. search is focusing on a four mile area around the park and the creek. abc7 news. the train in richmond is back on schedule after a train slammed into a tractor-trailer. it happened after 4:00 yesterday afternoon. the truck entered the straka right before the crossing arms went down. the driver was in the able to get out of the train's path in times. he was not hurt.

131 people on board the train from bakersfield to oakland were okay too. a fast-moving fire led to evacuations and some tense moments in san rafael. >> they are coming. they are coming! >> one frustrated resident was arrested yesterday afternoon after he threw his car keys at firefighters, demanding they save his burning how. the homeowner's deck was lost but the house was saved. 100 firefighters battled and managed to save the fire. and firefighters in san jose, crews stopped a grass fire from burning a home. an ember parked the awning of the house. you see firefighters on the roof taking defensive action. no one was hurt. happening today, the city of hayward will break ground on a new fire station and health clinic. the new fire station 7 will replace a deteriorating structure which served as home

to one of the busiest fire stations for years. new health clinic will also be located on the ground. ceremonies get underwhich today at noon to the hunt wood animal. a dog walker faces animal abuse charges after she left 8 dogs in her van and went shopping at a mall. an alert shopper found the dogs in the parking lot in san francisco yesterday. she took she's photos and shared them in abc7 news. woman called authorities outraged that someone would do such a thing. the dogs were in danger. >> to get paid as a job. it is your job. they get money back. and to go shopping until you drop? >> animal care and control cited the unidentified dog walker for leaving them in a vehicle without proper ventilation. growing concern this morning about militants taking control in iraq. president obama is ruling out boots on the ground, but he's ready to use the military. for the families of so many civilian contractors working in

iraq, it's a very worry some time. abc7 news reporter sergio quintana has more. >> they are calling themselves the islam eck state in iraq and syria called isas. these are tanked used by the iraq military. they are moving toward ballad on their way to baghdad. in ballad contractors have been trying to get out of danger for days. >> my brother said the commercial flights, that the company was trying to get, they are basically unable to find any commercial companies willing to fly into ballad. >> mitchell has been in close contact with his brother, michael, a firefighters and private contractor with a company called sally port global. there's been mow military support so he focus today social media to focus for attention on his polite. he started to twitter.

a reference to the number of the contractors stranded there. michael made it to baghdad but communications hit another problem there. >> while he was in ballad he was able to access facebook and twitter, but in the city of baghdad the government has blocked facebook and twitter. then he just has text. >> right now michael is on his way to dubai but it's not clear if all 600 contractors have made it out of the danger zone. abc7 news. this next story you will see only on abc7 news. neighbors in san francisco's bernal heights are fed up with raw sewage flooding their homes and the city doing nothing about it. five homes have this sewage problems since twine. homeowners paid more than $20,000 each to replace floors, walls, furniture. it happened on winter. smelly black water came up through toilets and bathtubs. >> it's coming up and baling away and i'm in there and baling away and i'm getting water up to

here and the next few days i had rashes and everything. >> the city has denied the claim saying homeowners are responsible for maintaining lines connecting their homes to the sewer line under the street but the city's own record indicate a defect in the main sewer line. the san jose world cup party starts early this morning. organizers spent yesterday setting up in the plaza. the party starts at 8:30, a half-hour before the first game. they hope as many at 2,000 fans will come out this weekend and expect more weekend when the watch party moves to st. james park. >> with such a diverse population here, we've already seen a lot of different team colors floating around at lunch breaks and to have everyone come together as a community in a park environment for free is something we try to encourage. >> fans will watch the game on a giant 10-foot by 20-foot l.e.d. screens and after the games people can stick around to watch movies in the park. the screen is up at

workers began building scaffolding yesterday that will be used to bring down a gigantic rope sculpture hanging on the west side of the decision. it's been there since it opened in 1976. decades of neglect have turned it into a dust cover eyesore. it will be decommissioned carefully and returned to its creator, who lives in davis. there will be a save return after stolen guinea pig in san jose. a group of teenagers swiped her from her pet shop on wednesday. jenne came to the shop along with her companion, rose, after being rescued from the local animal shelter. someone mentioned about breeding her with a similar looking guinea pig. >> she's five years old. they do try to breed her, she's probably not going to make it through discovery of the babies. her and the babies will probably die. >> folks at andy's pet shop urge the people who have jenne to

the east bay to south became mountain view 3 degrees warmer. cooler at the coast with the clear skies settling in. from the suit crow tower camera, looking pretty nice across the bay. the warming trend continues today. it will be nice tomorrow as the on shore push returns overnight. low clouds and fog along the coast making for a cooler afternoon pretty much for everyone tomorrow. that will initiate the cool down to start the work worth of cocaine. we will have a divided work week. here's a look at the pacific satellite picture with high pressure nudging in, allowing for a warm day inland. still with that breezy on shore wind at the coast. and then by tomorrow this system dropping out of the traffic northwest keeping the rain well to the north but it will provide a stronger on shore push and the cooling trend not only sunday and monday but even into tuesday we will see numbers a little cool. but take a look at the week ahead. today happens to be the warmest day of what we will see for the rest of the week and 88.

and tomorrow we drop to the low 80s in livermore. the coolest days monday and tuesday and the warmup returns wednesday and thursday. another vantage point from san jose where temperatures today will be in the mid-80 #* 80s, dropping into the upper 70s. a little bit below normal early in the work week and getting back to the mid-80s and the nice summertime pattern as the official season shortly for sure gets underway. 88 morgan hill, 82 sunnyvale. peninsula, a little cloud cover here but still we should see more sunshine today. 55 pacifica, 82 redwood city, 71 downtown. and up in the north by in the mid-to upper 80s returning here with the reds and oranges. 84 sonoma. east bay 76, and berkeley. 80 fremont you headen lands with numbers in the upper 80s here to near 90 from antioch to the delta with the weaker delta breeze. accuweather seven-day forecast then so the sunshine returns tomorrow but we will have the low clouds and fog to start. a cooler afternoon with

no government program can ever take the place of a parent's love. still as a country there are ways we can help support dad's and moms who make that choice. that's why earlier this week we brought working dads from across america to the white house to talk bat challenges they face and in a few weeks i will hold the first of working white house family summit. >> president obama recorded the address at the white house before departing yesterday for california. voters in oakland could be considering dueling measures to raise the minimum wage. there is a plan to gradually increase it over three years bringing to to $13 in 2017. a union back proposal already qualified for the ballot that wouldty it to the in flakes rate and guarantees five sick days for all workers. >> there are immense social costs to poverty in oakland. these costs are unnecessary, and

quite frankly, they are cruel. >> if either measure passes, oakland would have one of the highest minimum wages in the nation. this week san francisco city leaders announced a similar ballot measure that would increase their minimum wage to $15 an hour beginning in 2018. happening today oakland leaders will hold a town hall meet to go address public safety. it's one in a series of meetings to address public safety. the mayor and police chief and a councilman will be on hand to discuss crime reduction, schools, employment and other opportunities. today's meeting gets underway at 10:00 at the north oakland senior center. happening today, supporters of the nation's oldest black bookstore will hold a march and rally demanding the property's new owners return the store's contest. they were evicted last month.

big grassy fields. realizing your dreams of becoming a professional soccer player or even a player on a national team in the world cup takes help. the regular soccer system in the bay area and across the nation is you have to pay it play. the better you are, the more it costs. but sometimes the best players don't have the money to play. that's where this organization comes in. >> the program is designed to attract hispanic kids from all over the country and give them an opportunity to show their skills as soccer players, advance their soccer career and their educational career through it. >> the san francisco based organization says the open trial system all over the country is merit based. it takes no money to attend. this is video from one of their events. scouts from the professional college and u.s. and national mechanics can teams look for standout players. 31 kids from the program have gone pro, 12 playing for national teams. >> i got called up to go to the dallas cup, and after that i wanted to go and try to go pro

nice, warm day outside. a great father's day weekend. lisa will have the forecast coming up in a bit. we all know we aren't supposed to text while driving but how many people break the law? according to a new study by the center of disease control and prevention, 49% of teen drivers have admitted to texting behind the wheel in the next month and 51% admitted to talking on the phone while driving. there's no ban for use the phone when i will driving but using the cell phone makes you 23 times more likely to crash. row searchers say abbreviations for words like great, before, tonight and wonderful make kids think about language phonetically. these abbreviations require children to sound out spellings that can actually help them from learning and writing words. the only group that showed a negative impact were young adults but researchers say that
