amy? >> there were tense moments in the neighborhood and here is video from the seen last night, residents say the fire came inches of their homes and some were so desperate they grabbed their garden hoses to face off with the fire and that is how one person got hurt, they got too close to the fire and suffered smoke inhalation but was treated at the scene and is so kay. the people were in their backyards fighting alongside firefighters. >> in seconds it was at our fence, in the trees and by the time the fireman came necessity had to knock down the fence and we started to bring their fence down, too, because they weren't home and then on the or side they weren't home and it was really scary. >> it started after 7:00 in antioch and came close to 40 homes but no homes were burned and the firefighters got it out in time. there was no wind last night. that was a lucky break that kept it from spreading.

there is no word on the fire's cause. fires are stilt in the oakland hills keeping an eye on flareups after three fires being investigated as possible arson. a viewer sent us this at ureport@kgo-tv.com in diamond state park yesterday with five burned acres. it is considered "suspicious" because this was little wind and not much chance for embers to be carried away. with the help of a chopper and 300 feet of hose the flames were out in less than an hour. >> there is a sexual abuse lawsuit against the moraga school district that agreed to pay $14 million to two women. the "contra costa times" reported it is the largest per student molestation settlement in the nation. the former students sued claiming their reports by a

metcalf station in san jose. our reporter is there live with that story. good morning, security gars are here at the substation and the sheriff does patrols here and a big meeting is held today to address the security concerns as stations like this and substations across california. this comes after an incident at the met k substation last april and april 2013 after 1:30 someone slipped in and phone lines were cut and a rifle shot up transformers. it took a month to bring the substation to full operation. the head of the regulatory commission called what happened a case of domestic terrorism. today, a public work shop is being held by the california public utilities commission to talk about the attack at the substation and draft physical security standards. a panel discussion will take place being held in san francisco starting at 10:00 this morning and pg&e is also

custody. authorities say the 40-year-old was found yesterday at a homeless shelter on june 7 a deputy escorted him to the basement to take out the trash and he ran out of a door and escaped. he was serving a sentence to be released july 24. >> police soon have a new weapon to fight crime. the city council last night approved $300,000 for surveillace cameras and license plate readers with a dozen in all in hopes of trapping criminals. critics say they have privacy concerns. the cameras are installed next year. hayward police want to have officers wear video cameras. the department is holding a meeting tone to answer questions from residents about the cameras and get speed back. another meeting is scheduled

the walls of san francisco city hall are transformed for a look at the life of rural workers in the central valley. the exhibit includes historic images of farm workers and farm labor leaders chavez, and captures contemporary life in the heart land of california. one photographer spent years documenting life in the small town of lost hills. >> i am lighting and trying to portray the people with the same tools i used to shoot celebrities and make icons trying to show every day people with the same kind of honor and respect. >> the exhibit is located on the bottom level of san francisco city hall and runs through mid-september. >> a family is hoping a golden retriever found wandering through a lake tahoe campground
