20167 for gasoline and diesel to pay to fix the roads. after that, the increase would be tied to inflation. it is ridiculous. >> complaining of high gas prices when we all use the roads. >> the federal highway trust funds gives money to states but has been underfunded for years. aaa says nation and increased fuel economy cut the power of the tax in half. the last time congress raised the gas tax was in 1993. >> i am not in favor of taxes but i don't know where else the money comes from. if you have to drive you have to pay for it. >> aaa calls it a common sense plan providing the money goes toward projects that ease congestion and improve safety. the not for profit association says a survey shows drivers are

supportive. 68 percent said that federal government should invest more for transportation and 52 percent said they are willing to pay higher fuel taxes for better roads, bridges, and mass transit systems. some drivers were skeptical. >> know they went for the roads i would not mind because they are in tough shape but it never end up that way and the money goes someplace else. this is on fop of the we state gas tax because in california you pay the highest in the nation. thanks. happening now, traffic getting back to normal on the bay bridge after an unusual incident involved according toenses, a man who set his own truck on fire and danced around it in the middle of rush hour. look at this: the picture was posted on twitter the 8:15 from the westbound lanes beyond the tollbooth and you can see the flames shooting out of the truck and what appears to be the driver dancing next to it.

similar picture posted by another from a different angle and witnesses say the man was dancing with a can of gasoline laughing and taunting firefighters. he was taken into custody and the fire was put out and no one was hurt. let's look right now at the bay bridge toll plaza and you can see the traffic is very, very thick but it is a lot less than it was a few hours ago and not necessarily out of the ordinary for a weekday. new this morning, the march for marriage in washington, dc -- you can see archbishop spoke to the crowd a few hours ago -- was highly protested by same-sex marriage supporters in the bay area. katie marzullo is in the newsroom. archbishop cordileone said the crowd needs to have love for all people but as far as the catholic church is concerned, the truth is marriage exists only between a man and a woman. >> it is my on to have as our first speaker archbishop

a family is so grateful over the blood donations they received over several years they are sponsoring their own blood drive to help others. amy hollyfield joins us with that story. >> he has received six gallons

of donated blood in his life. now he is healthy. his family is adjusting to life away from hospitals. they would like to give back and replenish what he used. they are just now learning what most parents of little boys know: how to deal with the endless energy. they are thrilled. >> our life was tied around the hospital. >> he was diagnosed with a rare bone marrow disorder as an infant. his body was not able to produce red blood cells. transfusions have kept him alive. he has had 80 of them in his short lifetime. >> when dillon needed the blood he would become pale and irritable and his overall being was totally decreaseed so with the blood it is vital. >> the need was so great he had dedicated donors who would get the call and go donate for him

right away. >> he did a selfless act and it is very hard to...you think about it and it is like, wow, could i have done that? we are really indebted. >> i was always, thinking, gee, i wonder who donated for him and i wanted to give thanks to the people who donated to him the. >> a they figured out a way. they decided to host a blood drive in san francisco this week. >> we feel we want to give back and basically thank the people would have saved our son's life. also, the others who are fighting right now. >> dillon doesn't need blood anymore, he received the ultimate donation from his little brother, and now is cured. although he is only eight he realizes that it is generous people would helped him get healthy. >> i thank you for saving my life. >> the blood drive is on

covering san rafael, south bay, pleasanton and all bay area, this is abc7 news. we have pictures just in from a local teen who went to arizona to help immigrant children and families at the united states and mexican border. the 16-year-old collected clothes and personal hygiene supplies when she lend thousands of childrens are there without their families. we saw her sorting supplies last week before she left and i asked her to stay with us and keep us posted on her efforts and you can reap her posts on my company facebook page and on twitter. what a pretty view.
