live from the kgo-tv broadcast center this is abc7 news. new anger over the buses that schultz technical workers teen san francisco and the silicon valley. you think it is tough fining parking now? just wait. >> good morning, i am eric thomas. >> there is a heated hearing on whether to remove parking spaces in san francisco to make room for the shultz buses that take workers from san francisco to the silicon valley. we are joined by nick. this was a hearing held by the muni transportation agency. >> absolutely. they are getting an earful. muni wants do hear from riders before a final proposal moves to the board for final approval.

they say the goal is to improve efficiency cross the system but a plan they have to remove some packing spaces is already hitting speed bumps. >> it is not just google, but don says in the last year the number of schultz buses picking up employees has more than tripled and now, muni is considering removing some parking spots to make way for larger shuttle buses meaning fewer places for don to work. >> it is getting worse. between 24th and 23rd never used to be metered. now it is. >> this is a pilot we need to monitor. if there are chains to make we will make them. >> the 18 program starts in august. muni is look at ways do reduce the impact of shuttles. >> this is one step. >> the network works like this: starting august 1, sfmta extends

the eastbound lane of tunnel before 2:30 this morning. police say the passenger suffered major injuries and the driver ran away from the scene. he was caught a short time later and arrested for felony hit-and-run and driving under the influence. thousands of nascar fans are headed to sonoma raceway so that means a slow drive for lots of cars, trucks and rvs. >> it is lud. it is very fast. they are practicing right new making lots of noise, but all of this speed will be inside. outside, get ready to go slow if you are moving at all. >> these fans know what they need to get through a week of nascar with backpacks, coolers, baby carriers and an escape plan. >> traffic is brutal. >> the sprint car series is expected to attract 100,000 people to the sonoma raceway

where you can see behind me the i woulds have calmed again and it look like we will have a warm day on our hands. we will take a look at the maps and go right up to sonoma and look at the 350 raceway. dal. -- dale was talking how the heat can be a problem. the high is 82 on sunday with lows in the 50's. sonoma fair will be breezy at 4:00, and 70's at 8:00, but at midnight it will be 57. the alameda county fair continues in pleasanton and 80 with sunshine right new and topping out in the upper 80's and breezes kicking in at 77 at 7:00 and at 11:00 it will be 63 degrees, not so cold as in petaluma, but, still, chilly. grab a coat. we will talk baseball and the first couple of days of summer in the forecast.

the national weather service says drought conditions in california have worsened over the past week and the entire state was already in a severe drought but now more areas have fallen into what is considered an exceptional drought level in central california and northern california and it is growing to 33 percent of the state up from 25 percent. a year ago, no part of california was in the exceptional category. >> new this morning, governor brown signed california's new budget in san diego. the $156 billion budget is in effect july 1 with $108 billion of that in the scene fund including a surplus can that is because of increasing tax revenue and subjects in the stock market including more money for the rainy day fund and deals with the shot fall in teacher pension contributions. for the four the career in a row the lap was passed on time. prior to that the budget was late 23 out of 24 years.
