morning, a witness heard a loud bang and said they saw a can flying. police say nothing was damaged here and no one was hurt. this is one of two suspected arrest sons that happened yesterday, and the other was on mission near st. patrick church. these two the latest in a string of arsons, with nearly a dozen in the last few weeks in the south of market area, and most of the damage and the most dangerous was at a parking garage at the plaza. police and fire have now formed a special or son task force to try and figure out who is doing there and why. they are looking at surveillace camera cam toured from different cameras around the area. some construction sites have been hit and those companies have hired additional security guards to watch out for what appears to be a serial arsonist. residents evacuated from a

subdecision are back home this morning after a 100 acre wildfire forced them out for seven hours. the fire broke out at 12:30 yesterday afternoon in wooded terrain. it destroyed one outbuilding and a couple of vehicles. 60 percent of the fire has been contained. officials say a preliminary investigation shows the fire was started accidentally by someone using mechanical equipment in the hot weather near dry grass. a brushfire burning in southern california has grown to 150 acres. the fire began after noon yesterday is burning above glendale in the hills. no evacuations are ordered. firefighters from several agencies are battling the flames from the ground and the air. officials say three hikers were airlifted and two were helped out by foot. >> a man was hit by a light rail

train on the southwest expressway in san jose after 9:00 last night. authorities say the man was chasing after his dog and he was hit. there were 25 people on the train at the time. no one was hurt. they were taken to another location. authorities say the emergency lights were flashing and the signature 23458 gates were working. >> authorities have identified the pilot who died when the small plane caught fire and crashed near livermore. the 63-year-old jerry parker of livermore likely jumped from the experiment am aircraft when it caught fire on saturday seconds after taking off from the livermore municipality airport. the plane crashed in a field north of interstate 580. his body was found 300 yards from the plane. sparks start add brushfire contained after burning 1.5 acres. f.a.a. records show he was a pilot and an aircraft mechanic. the f.b.i. will release details on a crackdown on human
