get. take a look. sky 7 was over the seen minutes after the major water main broke about 9:00 a.m. on bryant street between division after a huge high pressure water line broke that is used for firefighting and the break happened because a new water line was being tested several blocks away and that caused an unexpected surge. >> before we could turn the new switch on we have to test it, in the process of testing, it could impact the older never treasure we trying to replace. >> did you know that was the risk to test this new line? >> i wouldn't say, did we know, but these types are very old. >> they are very old pipes and some up to 100 years old the officials stay a city own building has flooding inside when the water rushed law and

the big concern is the integrity of bryant street near alameda with engineers coming over -- combing over all of the payment to see if it is safe and the cars are being sold but we are told bryant will be closed for at least two days so the pavement can be examined after this major water main break. happening now, crews are still cleaning up from an accident that made a mess of the commute this morning in walnut creek. you can see from sky 7 a dump truck went over the center divide on interstate 680 near the north main street exit at 6:30 this morning and the truck blocked lanes in both directions. two people went to the hospital with minor injuries and five cars were damaged. lanes are still closed so crews can clean up the dirt and some fuel on the roadway. >> new this morning, a violent robbery attempt at the liquor store in san jose is caught on video and authorities are asking for the public's help to find the suspect.

katie marzullo joins us from the newsroom with incredible video. >> the video captures the suspect so get a good look, the land goes into the liquor store near the corner of mcdaniel in unincorporated san jose and distracts the clerk and slips behind the counter and grabs liquor and cigarettes. there is a confrontation and the robber throws bottles and gestures like he will hit the clerk and, then, the clerk goes after the robber with a broom. ultimately the man does throw the clerk to the ground and punches the clerk repeatedly. another customer was able to stop the attack. the suspect got away in a white car. you can see, there, what the suspect looks like. if you know anything about the case you are asked to call the santa clara county sheriff with the video on on website at abc7news.com. >> katie marzullo, thank you. today, san francisco police are expected to release new details of the man accused of setting a string of fires in the city

south of market over the past few weeks. police believe they have the person responsible under arrest. they released we surveillance video of the suspected arsonist and they have not releases his identity. >> police are hoping to return thousands of dollars in stolen property to their rightful owner after busting these three burglary suspects. under arrest, 20-year-old and his 35-year-old brother, ricardo, and 44-year-old, as well. police were investigating a break in at a bmw motorcycle dealership on old middle-field way and they stumbled on the stole jewelry at a home. miss say they found hundreds of items and jewelry including gold rings and necklaces and earrings. we posting pictures of the stolen goods on our website at abc7news.com. >> hillary clinton is in san francisco right now for a book signing at book passages at the ferry building. a thousand people bought tickets

we saw imempty them out and he came back to take packages that were delivered. so brazen. the thief noticed the security camera monitoring the boxes and he doesn't seem to care and police are investigating. >> investigators today are looking into the cause of a transformer fire, this occurred shortly before 10:00 last night, and thick smoke forcing officials to close interstate 280 at the national laboratory for a time. officials say the fire appears to have started in an electrical switching cabinet. it was brought under control in 45 minutes and the laboratory is operated by stanford university for research into particle and chemical reactions. >> we have results this morning after abc started asking questions about a water leak in a san jose neighborhood. brian johnson reported the problem in front of his house on friday. the water leaked not stop and this leaked for six days with a

loss of 172,000 gallons of water in the middle of the drought, and the san jose water company says that by law, it has to give other utility companies two business days to america their line before a crew can safely begin digging. shortly after abc called, a crew fixed the leak. >> a director victory for abortion opponents today at the supreme court. in a unanimous decision the justices ruled a 35' buffer zone around a massachusetts abortion clinic is a violation of the first amendment and this is a video of demonstrators outside the supreme court and the chief justice said this violates the free speech of the protesters. this could have a your impact on other laws. >> meteorologist mike nicco has the forecast. >> thank you. good morning from the broadcast center, we will look back in time and see if you have measurable rain in your neighborhood great this morning. today, it will be cooler-than-average, but that is it, big warming trend coming up

alcatraz we have low clouds. look at sfo, we had rain there this morning, and it is still causing 50-minute flight arrival delays but that is better than earlier, and rocky ridge in the east bay hills is .08", and hayward and mountain view and los altos, all .01" of rain today. the winds are blowing in the dry and less humid air mass so we have an increase in sun but the coast, too, will see more sunshine. expect it to be partly cloudy like over san jose right now, and a little breezy, with a dry pattern returning foam after a last chance of drizzle at the coast and the heat wave will build especially inland, sunday through the back half of the forecast on wednesday. you can see bay waters are choppy here and there but not too bad. four to eleven degrees cooler-than-average on the coolest day of the forecast with the front moving through while we were sleeping kicking up a

minute amount of rain and the low is moving to the north and it will stay that way and behind it you see the dry air moving in which is the mainstay through the forecast moving failure. temperatures, today, are from 61 at half moon bay to mid-to-upper 60's through most of the bay shore to 70's down in south bay and the north bay and we could touch 80 inland east bay for the warm spots so flee air conditioning for everyone, even if you are headed to the fair we get a break from the heat today and it is 69 and we top out in the mid 70's and drop back to 59 by the time it closes. i cannot guarantee another no-hitter but it will be cool at the pack tonight at 60 degrees at 7:15 dropping to 56 and tonight the temperatures are cooler everywhere, the clouds are back, though, with the best chance of drizzle at the coast. tomorrow, we will have extra sunshine and temperatures rebounding two- to four-degrees, saturday we back to average and
