>> good morning, everyone. i'm katie marzullo. it's 5:00 a.m. on saturday. a big weekend in san francisco with the pride event. we will start off with checking out the forecast. here's meteorologist lisa argen. >> good morning, katie." there is fog not only at the airport in hayward and livermore, but we are starting out with the low clouds. temperatures range from upper 50s to near 630. a southwest end up to 28 miles an hour at the delta. 59 there and breezy in bay city. today will be the cooler day of the weekend. here's a look at sutro. sun coming up at 5:50. we will look at much less in the way of fog. still an on-shore flow.

near 60s at the coast. and inland mid-70s to low 80s. a beautiful day. we will talk about how long it will stay above average temperatures later. thank you. >> good morning. breaking news. a woman and baby have been killed in a car crash. it appears an s.u.v. and a large sedan were traveling in opposite directions and crashed head on a woman, believed to be the driver of one of the vehicles, died at the scene. a baby girl died shortly later at the hospital. five other people were taken to the hospital with major injuries but they are all expected to survive. willow pass road is not expected to open for several more hours around 8:00 a.m.

one person is dead as a result of a shooting. a man was found on the ground and pronounced dead at the scene. there have been no arrests but the shooting remains under investigation. also, investigators are lack for people involved in an explosion and fire in an apartment complex in oakland. it happened an east 17th street in oakland. they were able to get the fire under control. a explosion of butane gas can centers in the apartment may have caused the fire. >> it caused by explosion of butane gas containers. >> i thought it was an earthquake at first. the whole room just shifted. >> authorities say they are look for two people with possible

they will have 13 extra officers on patrol on the 4th of july and the alameda fire department is beefing up it's force by 14%. >> a staff of illegal fireworks found in a bus in contra costa county is about one thousand pounds bigger than originally thought. investigators now say they seized 3500 pounds of fireworks brought in by indiana and were being sold on craigslist. the fireworks are estimated to be worth $80,000. a person of crown point, indiana was arrested and a person in richmond and oakley. fireworks especially dangerous this 4th of july because of the dry condition. the brownout will end on july 1st. brownouts are when fire stations close to save money. they say they are thankful because they will need all of their resources this summer.

a man seriously injured in a house fire in fairfield is still in the hospital. sky 7hd shows the smoke and flames coming from the house just after the roof collapsed. this is yesterday afternoon. two other people were hurt. they are expected to be okay. in san jose, four families have to find a new place to live after a fire destroyed their apartment complex. the fire they believe started downstairs and spread quickly. nobody was home at the time. one firefighter suffer a minor injury but was checked out and allowed to return to work. the state is taking steps to file more charges against for-profit charinthean colleges.

14 hours 45 minutes of lay light on the way. morgan hill 59 for you. half moon bay with the fog, 55. san francisco in the 50s. breezy, as well. and the exploratorium camera you can see here it's shrouded in fog. 58 by the delta with the southwest winds. so with that in check we will look for temperatures to get warm, but not as warm as it's going to get tomorrow as the sea breeze gets cut off and it's confined just to the coast. 52 in the north bay. 55 in napa. livermore checking in from the golden gate bridge. another vantage point you can see visibility pretty good. you can see it's partly cloudy. areas of fog this morning not just at the coast. we have some around the east bay and central east. warmer for most today. we look for hot days to really begin tomorrow, taking us through tuesday, the hottest day will be monday. the high temperatures inland approaching 100 degrees. so we will have high pressure

tomorrow. today it's good the coastal fog allowing for a partly cloudy start. as this gets closer to the coast we will see the winds switch around to a northerly component in the higher elevations. at the coasting it confine the sea breeze and keep temperatures in the pleasant upper 60s. livermore low 80s today. average high about 84. climbing to the low 90s tomorrow. by monday there's the triple digit heat with temperatures slowly coming down on tuesday, and by wednesday in the 80s." so if you are headed out into san francisco, noontime plenty of sunshine for the pride celebration, 64 degrees. look for mid-60s still by 4:00 winds kicking up. south bay 79 today. san jose 84. los gatos on the peninsula with 76. redwood city and palo alto, upper 60s to near 70s.

here's the goats stopping traffic. the herd eventually got safely into a trailer. in san francisco leaders showed off the newly renovated tea house located inside the japanese friendship garden. the building had been empty but in 2012 the parks department began an effort to renovate the tea house. now it features a new granite counter, a kitchen and table and chairs. it's another place for people to enjoy inside kelly park. >> i just hope that more residents and visitors and tourists will come to our city and enjoy this wonderful cultural gem we have here in the city of san jose. >> the tea house was built in 1972 and is modeled after the world renown tea house in japan, which is san jose's sister city. much more to come on the abc7 saturday morning news.

with what is shaping up to be a hot forecast. lisa. >> yes, it is, katie. although the hottest days will be tomorrow. today we have low fog and clouds reducing the russian insurgents ability along half moon bay and the clouds moving locally inland across the bay. the winds a little breezy in parts. here's the plan for the rest of the day. here we are 5:00 this morning as we go through the next couple hours. look how quickly the marine layer disappears and by 9:00 we have pretty much full sunshine. some of the fog setting up along the san mateo coast, keeping the numbers here in the 60s. but look at the rain. the red con tour is getting a little closer. not today, though. looks like we will see 90s. today mid-and upper 80s in the inland valleys and just about 80 in the santa clara valleys and more widespread 80s in the north bay. we will talk about details in the mini heat wave coming our way in a few minutes. katie. >> thank you, lisa. new this morning, president obama said eradicated the

run again for mayor. local artists will be on hand for today's event and afterwards she'll conduct an outreach to voters, along to volunteers. it will take place 10:00 a.m. mountain view has a new police chief and the new addition not so new, according to our media partner, the city apounce announced the police captain will succeed his cap an as chief. the chief started his law enforcement in milbrae in 1989 and joined the mountain view police department in '95. he will take over at police chief in august. jurors will return to deliberations on monday morning in the brian stow civil trial. stow was the giants fan nearly beaten to death outside the statement. the former owner they say did not provide enough security to keep stow safe on opening day in

2011. defense said there was it more security than on any other opening day in their history. the jurors will deliberate for their second day of deliberation. a santa rosa chaira county judge has unsealed the grand jury transcript from the sierra lamar murder investigation. it will become public in a couple weeks. it's from the proceedings against angelina torres, who was indicted in february. she disappeared two years ago and her body has never been found. both objected to the motion to unseal the transcript. the prosecution said it may be harder to seek a jury and the defense says it could make it difficult for torres to get a fair trial. 14-year-old theresa fletcher last month ran away from a group home on may 28th and has not

been seen sense. she's described at 5'7", 170 pounds. she has brown eyes and brown or blonde hair. police have been looking for another missing teenager but she was found safe yesterday afternoon. the search for a missing california firefighter is over. the body of 36-year-old arcadia firefighter mike herman was found by rescuers yesterday in rugged terrain in ventura county. he disappeared june 13th after chasing his doing while on a camping trip in the forest. his dog was found a few days later. an heiress skew unit spotted his body yesterday partially covered by brush 1200 feet above his campsite. >> spent eight or nine days looking for mike and we are glad he was found but at the same time we are sad that we lost a family member. >> no word yet on how he died. the authorities say there's no evidence of foul play.

happening today, a newly redesigned rue see i am that celebrates all things hayward is set to open to the public. the new center for history and culture on foothills boulevard will open their doors at 10:00 a.m. there will be tours, kids activities, history plays and musical performances. the historical society hopes it will connect future generations to the city's past. admission to today's reopening is free. this is the ninth year for abc7s top scholars program. over the years we've given recognition to seven students. abc7 news anchor christian sze uses her interests and as an artist to get others interested in science. >> 18-year-old katheryn liu

>> welcome back. officials are thinking more about why they need to close part of the san francisco freeway next holiday weekend. it will take place july 2nd to july 7th. all lanes of the northbound 280 will be shut down from chavez street to fifth street. and this is the region why. this hinge will be replace bid one three times as big. >> the hinge is what connects the two sections together. you can only build it so long before it breaks. the reason why we are replacing these hinges is they have deteriorated to a point where they are no longer functioning as intended. >> two more hinges will be installed over labor day weekend." they cost about $1 million to replace each of the hinges. dealing with a little bit of

hills camera from vollmer peak. mt. diablo this morning and mother nature allowing for a beautiful start. sun is up in about two minutes. we will see temperatures on the cool side in the city 55. 59 san carlos. but we are at 60 in san jose. 59 morgan hill with the southwest wind kicking up at half moon bay with the fog 55 degrees. exploratorium camera. you see how low the marine layer is. we will look for that to hang around throughout the morning hours. then it clears. we will get into fell sunshine in the city, 352. santa rosa it's 55 right now in napa. temperatures today climbing to the mid-60s in parts of the north bay, upper 350s for concord and livermore. you too in the 60s. we will reserve the 90s for tomorrow as it gets ever so closer from the sacramento valleys where they will be in the low 90s today. sutro. look like another beautiful picture. areas of fog in morning.

warmer for most today. we will keep it cool at the coast and the hot days really arrive tomorrow. the hottest day will be monday. tuesday, variable change unless you are right at the coast and the beeches will be pretty popular throughout the next several days because the on shore flow will not be going away. we will have the northerly winds kick up in the higher elevations but this morning it is about the fog. and that will be allowing for the temperatures to climb slowly today. but as it really gets thinner, the marine layer, we get the big warmup underway tomorrow as height moves in and a slight northerly push in the upper elevations. here's an idea how warm it's going to get for the week ahead in san jose b80 today. average high the low 80s. have the 90s to look forward to on monday and slightly cooler on tuesday where temperatures will get back to normal by thursday and friday. so we are looking at a beautiful day overall, but it gets quite

warm as you head into the valley. chico, 94. 80 tahoe. 98 fresno and partly cloudy skies in los angeles. 82 degrees. so high temperatures at our local beaches, low 60s, partly sunny half moon bay. 72 oakland and 74 fremont. we will look at temperatures today for the game pretty nice. in fact, this evening we will see temperatures in the 60s with the winds kicking up. sunset 8:36. and the accuweather seven-day forecast, upper 80s. mid-70s coast. tomorrow mid-90s and near 100 inland monday and by tuesday still more, but not everywhere. and wednesday, thursday, 4th of july looks pretty seasonal. low clouds typical to deal with for the fourth. it should be pretty nice up there today. >> thanks, lisa. in sports the giants try to get out of at slide.
