happy pride! san francisco is awash in the colors of the rainbow. festivities are well underway with more than a million people expected to celebrate lgbt pride. i'm ama daetz. the celebration is happening now. let's take a live look. this is delores street where a rally is being held prior to the annual march beginning in an hour. it's a gathering of nearly 200,000 lesbians, women in support of men, the celebration includes food, music, and dancing at civic center plaza.

the 44th year for the sf pride festival which attracts people from around the nation and the world. it's a time to celebrate the community's achievements and note the struggles that remain. the theme this year is "color our world with pride." sergio quintana is covering cove festivities and will have a live report at 6:00. ♪ as part of the celebration, san francisco's twin peaks is now saturated in pink. the annual construction of the pink triangle. tradition of gay pride weekend in germany, in the '30's and '40s, the nazis forced homosexuals to wear at the pink triangle in public and at the concentration camps. the symbol has been embraced as a symbol of pride. >> it's very important that people don't forget how people were treated and still continue to be treated today,

cities, including san francisco, to commemorate the stonewall riots when a police raid of the gay bar in new york city turn into a riot and protest of police harassment and brutality. since then the san francisco pride celebration and parade has been the larger lgbt gathering in the nation, raising money for more than 80 bay area nonprofit groups with nearly $2.3 million raised since 1997. starting today, fireworks are now on sale in many bay area cities throughout the fourth of july holiday. it is great news for nonprofits which sell them, but a big concern to firefighters especially during our severe drought. cornell bernard is live in san bruno. reporter: san bruno is one of two cities in san mateo county where you can still buy fireworks. pacifica is the other. folks spending a lot of money here today. this box costs you $500. but with conditions so dry, firefighters hope everyone will

until 8:00 this morning. >> pin more firefighter says a man jumped out of his car moments before it was hit by an amtrak train. this is the result. happened just before 10:00 last night at. firefighters found the car had been struck on or near the crossing, and came to rest at the center of the tracks. no one was hurt. antioch police are searching for a gunman after a deadly shooting on sycamore drive at 9:30 last night. officers found a man on the ground who had been shot multiple times. evidence markers show at least 12 shots were fired. police are not releasing any further information at this time. new details on an explosion and fire at an apartment complex on east 17th street and sixth avenue in oakland. police are looking for two suspects who may have suffered burns. just before 11:00 last night fire crews arrived to find a fire in the back unit of the apartment building. vectors say it was likely caused by butane gas canisters that

san francisco has a tasty new title tonight. 263 people tossed pizza dough outside of tony's pizza to set a world record for tossing pizza dough. the previous record was 250

of whispy clouds off the coast but it's far in the distance and temperatures will warm up for the rest of the weekend, into monday. let's look at the current temperatures, a look in san jose. those temperatures about 75 degrees currently. 67, san francisco, 69, oakland. 63, half moon bay. along our coast, things will still be relatively cool with an offshore flow most of the bay area will see the warming trend beginning tomorrow. the high today across california, 90 in sacramento, 80 in los angeles, cooking 105 in palm springs. tonight, we have a game forecast and looks like giants are taking on the cincinnati reds at 7:05. temperatures about 64 degrees, will dip down to a cool 59, and breezy as well. so a bit of an onshore flow overnight and patchy fog building in overnight, and i'll have your overnight forecast in a moment. our radar satellite, early fog this morning, clouds, they

burned off and now we have the big warmup starting tomorrow. a ridge of hi pressure coming in over the bay area and will stay with us for a couple of days and then start to see a cooling trend back to normal seasonal temperatures by mid-week so tomorrow we start off at 66. at 10:00 a.m. the pride parade starts at 10:30 at market and beale street and then start to see temperatures ramping up just a little bit. so by 4:00 p.m., 74 will be our temperature. 68 to close things down at p.m. overnight lows, that coastal fog, still hugging the half moon bay area, just before you get to santa cruz, still going to be in some cooler temperatures. 54 half moon by 5. 5 in vallejo. 60 in antioch. our temperatures for tomorrow, lots of sunshine in the south bay. 79 in san jose. 77, sunnyvale, 76, redwood city. san francisco and along the
