>> good morning, everyone, i'm cornell bernard in for care loin tyler today. let's start with a quick first look at the weather. here's meteorologist lisa argen. good morning, lisa. >> good morning. the warmup is underway. north winds will allow temperatures to climb into the 80s in the inland east bay and 90s. here's a look at santa cruz where temperatures today starting out in the 50s. going for a high about 79. 350 napa. 60 by the delta and concord checking in with 50 with a clear sky. 56 livermore. if you are getting set to head into the city for the pride celebration today, temperatures by 10:00 in the 60s. low 70s 1:00. mid-70s by 4:00. it will stay very comfortable with a light breeze out there through the 7:00 hour. we will talk about a little mini heat wave coming our way and how long it will last and how warm it will get. cornell.

>> thank you, developing news out of antioch where authorities are investigating a shooting. officials with contra costa fire say two helicopters and ambulances were called to a scene. not exactly sure how many people were shot. we will bring you the updates as they become available. a suspect is in custody following a high-speed chase in -- that ended in a police shooting. it happened along highway 4 in pittsburgh. at one point the suspect stopped and let a boy under 18 out of the truck. then ran to his vehicle and police cars opened fired outside of martinez. the suspect is taken to the medical center and is expected to be okay. the chase and shooting is under investigation this morning. developing news out of concord where one person is critically injured after driving their vehicle off a freeway. it happened after midnight on

highway 4 at the solano way exit. no information on the identity of the person or what caused the accident. >> in san francisco police are investigating a shooting in front of a subway restaurant last night. a man was shot around 7:00. he was taken to san francisco general and is expected to survive. it is gay pride weekend. it also included fundraising. sergio quintana has more. >> for some, this is all new. >> i love it. it is celebrated -- i've never been to a party like that in my life. >> and for others it's a chance to be with friends and celebrate diversity. >> i love my best friend and she's gay, so why in the celebrate with her. >> this year's crowd similar to last year when there was a major turnout because of decisions in the u.s. supreme court over same-sex marriage. >> before the march we saw a couple exchanging vows in the

38,000 marijuana plants. the sheriff's department sent us these pictures. the plants were growing in corn fields and vacant lots. a man under arrest tried to escape. the man was handcuffed in the back of this patrol car yesterday morning. he had been arrested for suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance. officers say he somehow got his hands in front of his body and forced his way into the driver's seat. the cruiser ended up on the poles after the man broke through a garage door. the man now faces four additional and a lot more serious charges. happening today. several almeda county law enforcement agencies and emergency responders will be participating in a training exercise in san leandro. the exercise will focus on the response to an act of shooting incident and will be based on data from similar incidents nationwide. am immediata county fire department, sheriff's department, paramedics and police agencies from several cities will participate. the exercise will be held at the

bayfield center on 14th street at 6:00 p.m. tonight. family of a missing gilroy woman is offering a $5,000 reward to help find her. 39-year-old naomi was last seen leaving her sisters home on foot last sunday. she didn't have her purse or cell phone with her. she's hispanic, 5'5", 150 pounds. she was last seen wearing a baseball cap, a jacket, capri pants and light blue shoes. in arizona firefighters are getting the upper hand on a fire burning from thursday. lighter winds are helping crews make progress of a 5,000-acre fire burning near the new mexico border. nearly 1,000 structures are threatened. a gas line break and two explosions helped fuel a house fire yesterday afternoon. the fire started in the home garage. caused some acetylene tanks to explode. as the fire spread, the gas line ruptured and crews had to back off and wait for pg&e to shut

off the gas. everyone got out safely. >> it's a very nervous week for firefighters. fireworks stands opened yesterday in some cities. san bruno, firefighters handed out a letter from the city explaining the rules. they are designed to prevent injury and fires. fireworks can only be used on private property in san bruno. to make sure people are following the rules, firefighters will have extra patrols out on july 4th. >> it's left up to the individual. there's always the extra concern. you can't watch everybody. >> i was driving by yesterday and the hills -- there's no green. that would be my worry that a fire starts over there. >> the hayward fire department taught people living in the hayward woods and area how to clear at all grass and brush from their homes to reduce firefighters -- or the fire danger there. take a look. fireworks are legal had these communities. sales began yesterday in most of

the cities but you can only set the fireworks off in the city where you bought them. it's official today, the gloves can come off in california restaurants. yesterday jerry brown repealed a law requiring them to using gloves or utensils when handling food. it was designed to prevent disease but chefs complained it was too restrictive and required unnecessary waste. minimum wage will go up to one dollars an hour to nine dollars an hour. in a radio address yesterday, they said it will help working class and middle class families. >> this moderate increase will help put hormone in the pockets of hard works californians. it will generate consumer spend fourth a much-needed boost to the economy. >> it comes at president obama and other democrats push to increase the federal minimum wage to $10.10 an hour. lisa is here. and a big weekend.

a credit card everyone loves because it has cash-back rewards. you spend money and you get cash back. but 7 on your side's michael finney said it's not always easy. it's not always easy to collect. >> pat davis of san lorenzo has been a happy customer of citibank since it opened up in town. >> they have all of my retirement and trust money. >> so it was puzzling when this little problem cropped up. >> maybe i'm just not sharp enough. >> it seems pat has earned $23.29 in cash back rewards on her citibank credit card. but citibank won't give her the money. >> they said it is our policy. >> this all began when pat decided to stop using her card. in part because it doesn't have her photo on it. >> i like a card with my picture because that way no one can steal it and go in and say they are me. >> she cut the card in half, then tried to cash in her rewards. >> and then found out, oh, no, no, you have to keep using it. >> citibank told her she had to

championship. >> reporter: it's not a sport for the slow or weak. this is power soccer. it's a four-on-four sport played just like tradition signal soccer, except these athletes are in wheelchairs. they train hard. the work recently paid off. they recently won the national championship in indianapolis. >> we trained really hard to win the national; and we deserve it. >> stanley scored 13 goals that day. but the confidence stanley displays now hasn't always been there. before power soccer, he was a different person. >> it's life-changing. got a lot of confidence, leadership skills. >> a range of disabilities are present on this court. but once the ball is down and the game starts, the symptoms seem to disappear and all that exists is the game. the one pushing them toward success is head coach chris finn.

he not only led them to a national win, but put the national u.s. power soccer team to the top during the world cup in brazil. he admits this sport also changed his life. >> i played soccer as a little kid and thought to myself, wow, i can play a sport again after i suffered my disability. >> he became a quadriplegic after a fall 20 years ago and now he lives soccer. he is passing on that passion one goal and one win at a time to his players on wheels. in berkeley, lisa amin gulezian, abc7 news. happening today, officials at levi stadium in santa clara will practice what it's like to have an actual event at the venue. this is only a drill, though. officials will close streets, set up barricades and test traffic systems. it's in preparation for the stadium's first event in august,

oakland checking in at 57, as well as san carlos and headed down to the beach maybe. santa cruz today in the upper 70s with the layth southwest wind throughout the afternoon. not much for breeze out there. 60 by the delta, as well as concord with 56 in livermore. low 50s for santa rosa and 50 in napa. he is breeze will develop by the afternoon. that's due to all the heat that will be happening in the east bay valleys. it will pull in some of the cooler air. a look right now at the golden gate bridge, which is clear. look for warm to hot conditions today with 100-degree heat inland tomorrow and minor cooling on tuesday. the work week ahead looks to be above average for pretty much all of the bay and inland communities. so as we start out this morning, we've got that northerly push beginning, and that's because high pressure is beginning to build in. as it gets closer to the coast and strengthens. that's where we will see the temperatures really warm up. so the hottest day tomorrow and then the ridge begins to slide

forecast in a few minutes. a new homeless program is rolling around the streets of san francisco. this retrofitted muni bus is a retrofit. it has showers and toilets for homeless people on board. it hooks up to a fire hydrant to get water. they buy the water from the city. a woman got the idea after she saw a homeless woman crying that she would never be clean again. >> it's about restoring dignity and reconnecting people with humanity. if you are dirty, it's hard to feel positive about your life and take the steps you might want to take to lift yourself out of your circumstances. >> the pilot program will run until then of the year. they hope to have as many as five buses capable of providing 1800 showers a week. doing good work there. a beautiful day in the bay area. it will being hot had the east bay.

it's a brainchild of nathan, microsoft's former chief technology officer. his passion for food led him to go to work in a restaurant and go to cooking school in france. listen to his excitement over what he calls an exploded diagram of a burger. >> not only is it cool looking, it shows you how to assemble it. shows you all the layers clearly and distinctly. once you squish it into the burger, you can't see the layers or how it is made. >> he cuts apart ovens, pots and pans and even grills to show you how it cooks. >> with those photos, it's easier to say, yeah, i understand what happens in my boiler when i boil something. i understand when i roast a turkey. >> the photographs became part of a 2500 page multi-volume book called "modernist cuisine." he uses the photo of a pork leg to show why some animals have both dark and white meat. they have extra cells for walking. they store extra cells for tasks such as walking. >> typically the legs are the dark meat with the endurens muscles. and the wings, white meat,
