sky 7 headed to napa county to get our first view of the fire by daylight which has burned 2,700 acres in napa county with mandatory ever advantages in affect for 200 homes. our news reporter is on the ground and joins us from napa county with the latest on the firefight. they worked through the night. >> they did. we just got off the phone with cal fire and it is now at 3,200 acres so it is growing. they kept the firefighters out there battling all night and money are on the line and they do feel they are making progress and they were appreciative the winds died so they got up to the edge of the fire. it was yesterday afternoon the wind was really giving them problems and the fire was spreading quickly. they do expect to have updated numbers later this morning when they can fly an aircraft above

it and get a sense of the containment but right now they are putting the containment at 30 percent and they say it destroys five structures. some residents say they believe more homes could have been damaged or structures but some people picked up garden hoses and got to work themselves. >> the fire kept going that way and slowly uphill and the kids did a great job with the hose up here and mostly stopped it from bun their house. >> the fire is burning east of calistoga and napa valley. the good news is no one has been hurt in the fire. they do expect to have more resources here today so fight this. but they are making progress and the weather is cooperate you but when the sun comes up, they are worried and the fight intensifies. this is still open. they say they still have a lot of work to do.

welcome back at 6:23, a look from sky 7 of the fire burning in napa county and you can see on the left, you can get a feel for where this is happening. the fire did grow overnight and cal fire tells us that it is up to 3,200 acres and was 2,700 last night but at the same time cal fire is saying the weather helped crews. hundreds of homes still evacuated this morning and five structures have been damaged, not clear if they are homes or some kind of other structure. crews have the fire 30 percent contains but it will be a long hard fight with the try and hot conditions out there.
