oakland, hayward, you're reporting overcast conditions. but it's not as widespread. the marine layer started to break up late this evening and tonight we are only seeing gray skies in some parts of the bay area. san francisco's financial district looking at gray skies right now. temperature is 57 in san francisco, mid 50s around gilroy. here's a view from our sfo camera, some patchy, low clouds. temperatures in the 60s some of our mildest spots. and here's one last live picture looking from our emeryville cameras, we do have the gray skies around you. we'll have to watch out for the fog in the morning. spotty drizzle expected near the coast. once again, it's going to be very much like this this morning with some slick roadways.

we are still under the influence of this trough so the trough is keeping things a little bit on the breezy side. it's also helping to keep our temperatures near average, sl s below in some areas. this continues right on through the 4th of july. things really change over the weekend as this area of hot air mass here over the desert southwest expands westward. we'll feel the heat around the inland communities. tropical storm arthur is still churning over the mid-atlantic coastline. very close to a hurricane there. gusts to 85 moving northward, as we head into tomorrow morning east coast time, 8:00 a.m., expected to strengthen to a minimal category one hurricane, 75 mile-an-hour winds by 8:00 p.m. eastern time, expected to cross cape hatteras, north carolina, strengthening just
