live from the kgo-tv broadcast center this is abc7 news. >> the huge fire in napa county pope rally is bigger, more than 4,300 acres now with hundreds of fires on the line getting help from helicopters. >> thank you very much for joining us. >> firefighters are trying to protect pore homes from being burned. 400 are threatened. here is a look from sky 7: much different picture than we have seen a couple of days ago that started around noon and it just took off in the heat and wind

and two homes and seven structures burned. no one has been injured. it appears from this picture that the crews have made a lost headway in containing this wildfire. here is video from how bad it got. caltran is fighting it aggressively with local crews fighting from the air and the ground. 400 homes are still considered "threatened." those who been evacuated don't know when they can return. it is steep and rugged terrain and it is moving northeast toward snell peak and is considered only 30 percent contained. we will bring you the latest information immediately on twitter at twitter@abc7newsbayarea. cal fire called in 600 more firefighters to help contain the fires including alameda strike team that headed to napa this morning. this is video of crew ready to leave from the county fire station 12 in san leandro.

the team from oakland, livermore, pleasanton, fremont, and hayward. >> cal fire is having a tough time as we showed you fighting the fire and the potential for winds is not helping. leyla gulen and meteorologist mike nicco have more. good morning, everyone, as we look from emeryville camera to the bay, the haze we see is the marine layer revealing more sunshine but it is the wind we want to keep our focus on. we had erratic winds yesterday but it will be calm. we do not have any winds in napa but we picket to see gust up to eight miles per hour, and heavier in fairly, but, of course, it is sunshine and hot. hopefully firefighters can get the upper happened. we will have continuing coverage of the fire on air and online. our coverage continues, now, on twitter at twitter@abc7newsbayarea. developing news in san bruno

crews responded to a hazardous material situation with a couple of intersections cut down atlantic and pacific and huntington. three barrels of unknown liquid are being voted at the san bruno bart station. there is no word on when the streets will re-open. >> police are vetting a homicide this morning. officers responded to reports of an unresponsive woman at 24th and chestnut before 4:00. the woman has visible signs of trauma but not saying if she was shot or killed another way or if she lived at that location. a special meeting is underway that could affect the future of the a's in oakland. right now coliseum board members are meeting behind closed doors and considering a possible new lease deal to keep the a's in oakland for ten more years. the city council member is urging the board to vote "yes," and says there were major developments overnight and the

co-owner has major league baseball's authorization to seek a stream or permanent location outside the city of oakland if there is a no vote. >> big traffic alert, part of interstate 280 san francisco is shut down because of a major construction project. it is expected to cause major traffic tieups this afternoon. the alternate way into downtown is to take highway 101 to interstate 80. you can see some backup as the 4th street 506 ramp. amy hollyfield is joining us from the construction site with more. amy? >> yes, the c.h.p. says that they don't have any major problems to report from the shutdown, just some condition fusion and some backup, but, officers are worried about the weekend pointing out going into san francisco on a weekend there is usually a backup even when the freeway is o the closing now is in affect, northbound 280 from alameda into san francisco is closed. construction crews are hard at work, and everything is going as planned, yet talking about it and seeing it are two different

>> a tough time for those folks. leyla gulen is here for meteorologist mike nicco. >> we have calmer conditions at our beaches. we will look outside starting with santa cruz beach and not quite beach weeks ago. it is 63 degrees right new and santa cruz beach is going to warm up to the mid-70's this morning and it look like folks are headed out there already and we are starting to see some sunshine because the marine layer is starting to dissolve across the bay area, finally, and live doppler 7 hd shows a little bit of fog confined to the coast and parts of san francisco but it is melting away as we peek and that will bring our temperatures up a little bit but still, staying relatively cool we than average. 12 american gusts in napa right new and we are expecting some milder presses later on today and that will help us firefighting in pope valley. can you see toward san francisco, we still have a many layer that will efferentally

burn off and santa rosa currently is 71 degrees and in the mid-60's for napa and novato and upper 80's in fairfield and 73 and low wherever 70's for concord and livermore. we have a game at at&t park and the joyans take on the st. louis cardinals. 67 is starting temperature under partly sunny skies but, still, a high u.v. index so bring a hat can -- hat and sun screen. a dry breeze is behind the cool air from british columbia and for fourth of july, tomorrow, hopefully everyone is keeping their fingers crossed to watch the fireworks. if you are on the pens larks south by, east bay, or inland valleys, you are going to be able to see the fire works but there will still be fog coming in back over friend and revealing mild temperatures, as well, for the duration of the evening. for the weekend we have a

warm-up over the four corners. warm air, upper level ridge, will bring our temperatures up and you could even see some triple digits by sunday or monday. our highs today are in the upper 80's to lower 90's, and closer to the bay it is 76 in richmond and san mateo. the north bay is hot at 95 in clear lake and along the coast, mild and a little bit on the cool side. our overnight lows are still in the mid-to-upper 50's with fog and patchy drizzle for the morning commute and it will be comfortable tomorrow. we stay dry for fourth of july holiday with temperatures reaching 88 degrees inland and circuit along the coast and as we head into the weekend you can watch the temperatures climb back up so the muckry is -- mercury is rising sunday into monday and a slight cool off on monday and tuesday. >> a big celebration in the east
