freedman, abc 7 news. northbound highway 17 near bear creek road is still closed tonight after a huge big rig crash. one person was killed and at least seven others injured and the damage is incredible abc 7 reporter david louis is live with the latest. >> reporter: you can imagine what it's like to close a major road like this for over nine hours. as you can see the cal-trans cruise have cleaned up the lanes just before 8:00 this morning. >> that gives us a hint that maybe it won't be too much longer before they able to open this freeway. it started when a big rig triggered a series of crashes. patrice moore travels here. this is what her prius looks like now after it was struck with a run away trailer. >> the cars and it's going

he's a musician with a dream who walked away from his big break to save an ex-girlfriend in a follow up right now, wayne freedman reports the batman sacrifice opened doors that until now existed only in his dreams. blowing across the bay here. low clouds again pushing across the bay. this really is not what we typically see as far as the strong manner influence. temperatures inland have been rung cooler than average this time of year. that's all about to change. let me show you. we will talk about the warm-up in just a moment. we do have the marine layer around. it's fairly deep. along the coastline, socked in. the clouds dil did pull away briefly to allow pacifica and halfmoon bay to get up into the mid-60s. in sierra nevada, we have been seeing thunderstorms firing up. in the lake tahoe area we seen a little rain. >> that since stopped. because of those thunderstorms and the moisture moving northward, there are red flag warnings that begin at 11:00 p.m. tonight from the central sierra to northern california. they run until 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. depending on the area t. dry lightning could set off fires. that's the big concern.
