sergio quintana is live in morgan hill where he spoke with the family today. sergio? >> i talked with sierra's mother who tells me she has recently been contacted by san jose sharks player, seeing if he can help encourage sharks fans to come out and join these ongoing saturday searches. the organizers here at the search center are trying to keep hope alive even as these recently releaseed transcripts of the grand jury proceedings detail the graphic evidence prosecutors presented against lamar's accused killer. day after the release of the transcripts in the case of missing 15-year-old sierra lamar, her father says it's tough to hear about the graphic evidence. >> it's upsetting, and not the kind of thing want to read about what possibly happened to my daughter. >> the 1900 page transcript lays

out a case against garcia torres based on dna and forensic evidence. her clothes had fabric finers from the interior of his volkswagen jetta and they found her dna on an interior armrest and a rope in the trunk had her hair on it. his dna was found on a pair of her pants recovered in the field near her morgan hill home. legal anist says garcia torres also implicated himself when first questioned by police. >> the started to volunteer answers to questions that weren't asked, and the most damaging of which is regarding how his bodily fluids could be contained at the sierra lamar crime scene. >> today a team of searchers scoured rough terrain, the searches continue much as they have since sierra went missing in 2012 and reward are still available. >> may be some people that have

not come forward. >> sierra's father says the family appreciates their dedication. >> the more that we can find, the more it will help the case. >> volunteers and family friends say finding her will also help the family get some closure. >> we have breaking news, rally in downtown san jose, demanding justice cor andy lopez, and protesters marched on the highway 101. the highway patrol says the northbound lanes near third street are blocked. a number of officers have been called to the scene to clear the protesters off of the highway. lopez was shot and killed by the sonoma county sheriff's deputy. he thought the victim had a real

assault rifle. the sonoma ya county district attorney cleared the deputy of any responsibility. lopez's family and other community members denounced the decision saying the deputies actions were careless. >> i'm here because i'm a mom and worry about the situation and not agree with the decision. so i'm here because i want the police officer out of the streets. >> lopez's family said they'll urge the u.s. attorney's civil rights division to conduct an impartial investigation into lopez's shooting death. we'll bring you updates on the freeway closure as we get more information. a four-car accident in the south bay left one person dead this morning just before 2:00 a.m. on the southbound lanes of 1 -- 101 in san jose. one person was killed and two others injured. it took officers two and a half

hours to clear the highway. cause of the accident is under investigation. >> a water main break near san francisco's union square sent hundreds of thousands of gallons of water gushing into the basements of high-end stores. the fire department got the call at 10:00 this morning a construction crew hit an eight-inch water main near geary and stockton. six to eight stores had several feet of water in their basement. since crews had to stand in the water to pump it out the power had to be shut off. the fire department believes the damage was minimal. >> there's not too much merchandize ruined. mostly just storeroom, stockroom, cardboard boxes, some office furniture. so not a high dollar damage at this point. >> the cleanup is still underway. some sidewalks had to be closed to pedestrians. now to developing news overseas in the middle east. israel has intensified air

strikes on gaza. the fifth straight day of bombardment between israel and the palestinians. >> an explosion, a column of smoke marking the target of an israely air strike in gaza. the cycle of violence continuing in the middle east. for a fifth distraught day israeli missiles rained down, retaliation for some 700 rockets and more mortars that militants fired into israel. israel is vowing to not stop until hamas halts the rocket fire. the palestinian death toll is 120. relatives of the dead gathered at the hospital to mourn victims of the latest air strikes. israel blamed hamas for the civilian casualties, accusing them of couldn't sealing a.s depots. >> in mosques and schools and

the middle of urban area jazz, air raid sirenses sounded over jump today as residents ran for cover. israel's iron dome antimissile system has shot down 130 incoming rockets but the rockets reached farther into israel than ever before. the israeli military has mobilized more noun troops and massed troops along the border for a possible ground invasion. the mace says the latest violence has stiffened palestinian resolve in gaza. >> we all thank hamas and we put the hand over the hamas here, the blessing of people in gaza. >> pressure is building on the two sides for a cease fire. >> now we turn to some sports news on the world stage. the netherlands beat out brazil this afternoon, 3-0, to finish third in the world cup. dozens of soccer fans brought

look at that. 88 explosive charges took down this aging bridge in cleveland this morning. thousands of people crowded vantage points to see the steel skeleton of the bridge sink into the river in a controlled explosion. the 1959 bridge has been replaced by a newer, more modern span. the project to demolish the bridge began in january. its railings, lights, barrier, and con surface were all removed. we're just a few hours away from the last time candlestick will host players like montana and rice, and our mike shumann right there. this is video of abc7 sports anchor mike shumann. when he got there they gave him

half moon bay, 59. over the south bay, just blue skies there. 70s in santa rosa, napa, novato, low 80s in fairfield, concord and livermore. you can see the clouds out towards the left. so we'll see the increasing clouds overnight, spilling into parts of the bay. warmer tomorrow, and then a summer spread of temperatures through early next week. overnight lows the in the mid-to-upper fifths. 54 in san francisco, antioch, 60. now, tomorrow we'll warm up a little bit because we have this area of high pressure, this continues to build west and will bring us warmer numbers into monday. look for a warmer day, especially inland, where we'll hit 94 in fairfield and antioch. comfortable right around the bay. 74 in oakland, 77 in fremont. 82 in san jose. san francisco, 68.
