this summer with a disneyland resort room and ticket package you get the time you need to enjoy it all. there's no end in sight! i'm going to need more time. they're standing together to seek justice in the deputy shooting death of a santa rosa teenager. this protest took an unusual turn. good evening. what started out as a peaceful protest for andy lopez, shot and killed by a sheriff's deputy. shutting down part of a highway. lisa reports from the newsroom tonight, was anyone hurt? >> surprisingly, no. a group of people marched up the offramp in santa rosa, they stopped traffic, one person laid

down on the roadway and the enfire time they maintained their message about andy lopez. >> more than 100 people protested an officer involved fatal shootings and the sonoma county da's decision to clear the deputy of any wrongdoing. he shot the 13-year-old after he mistook the pellet gun for a real assault rifle. the protest took a surprising turn as a group of activists split from the majority. they blocked traffic until chp officers coaxed them off the highway, the protesters were met by dozens of officers, the group made another unexpected move by marching straight into macys in santa rosa plaza.

the stand-off ended peacefully just before 11:00. police in the north bay want to question a man tonight in connection with a deadly hit and run investigators believe john mesker was driving south near hunter lane when he hit and killed a man walking on the street just after 4:00 this morning. his car has been recovered. the victim is identified as nathan garza jr. cleanup crews will be back at union square tomorrow morning. a water main break flooded high end stores. firefighters say at least 100,000 gallons of water spur spilled on to sidewalks and basements. crews shut off power while

workers lugged items upstairs. >> not a high dollar damage at there point. >> the construction crew is working on the union square station for the subway project. firefighters talk protective action to prevent homes from a grass fire. crews had it knocked down in less than an hour, no structures were damaged. >> new details on a fire in eastern contra costa county. it appears the fire started around 10:00 last night when a car drove into a power pole knocking down power lines. the fire charred 80 acres. further north near redding a wildfire has burned more than four square miles and forced evacuations. this fire ignited yesterday

disappointed world cup soccer player. he left the field in teers after brazil's 7-1 defeat to germany on tuesday night. he was quiet about the loss unless he posted a letter on line from a 9-year-old fan, translated to english, the letter reads in part, "i think you don't need to be sad because you played well and you did the best you could. life is like this, sometimes people lose and sometimes people win. but people only need to be happy." that is one very smart 9-year-old. germany and argentina play in the world cup finals this sunday. you can watch the game live here on abc 7, our coverage begins at 10:00 a.m. you won't be the only one watching tomorrow's match. lebron james is in rio de janeiro to catch the game. this was lebron's first public appearance since announcing he's

weather. >> the clouds started to spill into the bay about 9:00, 9:15, you see them right now along the coast, in parts of the bay and over the bay bridge, as we look live from our roof camera, low clouds there in the distance. temperatures mainly in the 50s right now, with the exception of gilroy 60. san francisco 56. oakland, san carlos and san jose. 59 in half moon bay. from emeriville, we're looking out toward the bay bridge once again. in santa rosa, napa 56, movado 57. livermore at 59. here's another gorgeous view, you see those low clouds right there over the bay bridge and the light show. we'll see increasing clouds overnight, warmer temperatures tomorrow, and a summer spread early next week. so here's the fog cast showing you the fog spilling into the bay overnight. so 5:00, 6:00 tomorrow, we'll see the east bay and even into some of the valleys. overnight lows will be in the

good evening, in tonight's headlines a protest for teenager andy lopez in santa rosa this afternoon shut down part of a freeway. you're looking at strange video that was posted online. people protested the san oem ma county d.a.'s decision to clear a sheriff's deputy of any wrongdoing after he shot the

teenager after mistaking the pellet gun for a real rifle. right now, he doesn't plan to read the 1900 page grand jury transcripts in his daughter's case. a judge unsealed the document yesterday. it reveals graphic details about the investigation. authorities have charged torres with her murder, even though lamar's body has not been found. and cleanup crews will be back at san francisco's union square tomorrow. they'll finish mopping up after a water main broke this morning. a construction crew cracked the eight inch main flooding basements of some high end stores. angry protesters in one southern california town say they won't stop until the man known as the pillow case rainist moves out. 63-year-old christopher hubbard has admitted to raining 40 women between 1970 and 1982 in southern california and the bay area. his nickname comes from using pillow cases to muffle his victim's screams. last year, a santa clara county

a disabled man has felt like an unprotected visitor in his own mobil home. he offered this woman a place to stay temporarily as a favor to a friend after being kicked out of her home last month. she agreed and then invited her boyfriend and four adult children to stay too, in the tiny two bedroom home. martinez has filed a restraining order against them. police say there's nothing they can do until a judge hears the case later this month. ferrenback says she's not going anywhere until then. that story is similar to the nightmare nanny. she refused to move out of a home a month after she was fired. if you were in the market for a tank or other genre's of military equipment, today was
