of resources. the fire burned 20 acharies and -- 20 acres and residents are allowed to return home. a woman is recovering tonight after getting stabbed in san francisco's mission district this morning. happened at the b.a.r.t. plaza at 24th and mission streets just before 11:00 a.m. emergency crews took the victim to the sf general hospital. the wound was on her lower body man. was arrested but no information has been released. no arrests have been made in saturday's protests that blocked off several streetness santa rosa, including a portion of highway 101. the chp says 100 people walked from downtown santa rosa to did some morgan streets and blocked the intersection. this is streamed video posted online. that's what you're looking at. a group of 20 then walked up the offramp to highway 101. officers in riot gear quickly arrived and blocked off surrounding streets. they were protesting the sonoma

a lot of lost traffic. >> the construction crew was working on the union square station for the central subway project. the tourist traffic experiment involving san francisco's lombard street is nearly over. since june, only local traffic and taxis were allowed then to the crooked street on weekends from noon to 6:00 p.m. transportation officials say the findings from the pilot project will help them determine whether to issue temporary closures on a regular basis. residents say the buss and crowds make getting in and out of driveways a nightmare. >> santa clara county is seeing an increase of birds infected with west nile virus. there have been 286 affected birds recorded. three times the number in 2013. officials say the drought may be contributing to the increase because birds and mosquitoes are coming into closer contact around a smaller number of

watering holes. >> to developing news in new jersey, where authorities say a gunman lay in wait for police to respond to a false armed robbery call and killed the first officer who showed up. authorities say the gunman never intended to rob a walgreens but told a witness he wanted to kill a police officer so he would be famous. a 23-year-old rookie officer was shot in the head while his n his patrol car. other officers shot and killed the gunman who was wanted for a prior homocide. a security guard told reporters the suspect struck him and took his gun. police believe the gun was used to kill the officer. and there is no sign tonight of the cease fire in the middle east and there what no ledup today in israel's air war on hamas and gaza. israel has thousands of troops on standby to gaza border and says incursion is possible if gaza does not call off the missile barrage aimed at

live doppler 7hd showing us very little cloud cover at the coast, although that's where it has been breezy and, of course, cooler. we are so much warmer compared to 24 hours in some areas like concord, we're 11 degrees warmer, and novato, 14 degrees warmer. so, everyone warmed up, and the trend will continue. here's a look from the east bay as we show you some more high clouds out there. san francisco, 65. oakland, 70. san carlos, 73. san jose, 77. gilroy, 90. we sear more pretty cirrus clouds every san jose. check out all the nines in, novato, fairfield, concord, 94. livermore, 93. this time from sutro we're looking east, and you can see the beautiful san francisco downtown area. mostly clear overnight. so that is different. near 100 degrees inland

tomorrow. and then the cooling trend begins on tuesday. so, let me show you how little cloud cover there is overnight. even tomorrow when we wake up, mostly clear, just some possible clouds off the coast. and that is going to mean milder overnight treasures. we'll even see temperatures in the six not tonight like in vallejo, concord, fremont, palo alto, and right the coast, mid-50s. 55 in san francisco. and also we have high pressure building, and that's going to warm us up into tomorrow. notice the circulation is drawing up the moisture, and that's going to bring us the high clouds and also, by tuesday, a chance of some thunderstorms in the sierra. you can see that with the red -- rather, yellow and green. so little bit of orange where there's more severe threat of thunderstorms. so, look for hot numbers in the south bay. 91 in san jose, upper 90s, morgan hill, and gilroy, 80s,

palo alto, 84. 86 in redwood city, and then cloudy cooler at the coast. downtown san francisco, 72 tomorrow. of course we'll see a lot of the filtered sunshine with passing clouds, low 90s in petaluma, novato, san rafael, sonoma and napa, and very warm in the east bay, from 76 in richmond, up to 86 in fremont. look for near 100 in some inland areas like antioch, livermore, and brentwood. we'll see upper 90s as well through fairfield, pittsburg, and pleasanton. it's going to be a hot one tomorrow inland. we might bump up temperatures by ten degrees inland. around the bay coming up about five degrees. at the coast, still holding steady, and then we'll start to see some more relief and cooling down wednesday. we'll be closer to average by the end of the work week.
