no structures were damaged. no surprise that a fire sparked today. the grass was dry because of high temperatures and little humidity. abc7 news meteorologist frances dinglasan has more with a look at live doppler 7hd. >> we had little cloud cover and temperatures came up today with live doppler 7hd. it's very clear in many areas, but we're starting to see high clouds moving in. highs today 1, 02, ukiah. 103, cloverdale and lakeport. cooler at the coast, half moon bay, 63. san francisco, 66. fairfield, 96. antioch, 99. so relative humidity, of course, is low in some of the inland areas and tomorrow we'll be even warmer. we have quite a few locations hitting 100, possibly even over so that means relative humidity will drop further. i'll have those numbers, your neighborhood temperatures in the accuweather seven-day forecast, and when you can expect cooling. a 27-year-old man has been arrested after authorities in

shasta county say exhaust from his truck started a brush fire. the state department of fire production says fedy alexander was tending to an illegal marijuana plot when his truck sparked the fire. the fire is 10% contained and destroyed six structures. he has billion charged with starting the fire and marijuana cultivation. both are felonies. a woman is recovering tonight after getting stabbed in san san francisco's mission district this morning. happened at a b.a.r.t. plaza at 24th and mission street before 11:00 a.m. emergency crews rushed to the woman to the hospital. she is expected to survive. police arrested a man at the scene but have not said if he is connected to the stabbing. some popular san francisco stores were closed again today after a water main break need their basements yesterday morning. disappoint shoppers could only window shop at some stores while employees continued mopping up.

a contractor hit an eight-inch water main around 10:00, spilling 100,000 gallons. firefighter says stores lost mostly office furniture and boxes. the crooked part of lombard street just re-opened after it was closed to all but local and taxi traffic this afternoon. today was the last day of an experiment to close the popular tourize attraction to nonresident cars from noon until 6:00 on weekend s. residents say traffic is a nightmare. now mta will decide whether to make the restrictions permanent. six california lawmakers will staff to central america tomorrow to meet with officials there about the increase in migrants to the u.s. border, particularly unaccompanied minors, senator alan cor bet and -- they'll discuss immigration, trade, and port security. the nine-day trip will give the

feat. reporter: there have only been a few people to even attempt this, and yesterday's marathon swim was only the second time someone has been able to successfully make from the farallon islands under the golden gate bridge. joseph locke made the swim 40 minutes faster then the first guy who successfully did it. this i video yesterday. he got in the water at midnight yesterday morning. he says this is the seventh time he has attempted this and he is not wearing a wet suit. part of the difficulty of she women is toughing out the cold water. he was only allowed a swim cap, googles, trunks and grease. he made it under the golden gate bridge and then even tapped the concrete base of the south tower to make it official. >> i got a pass to the golden gate bridge, which is -- people are saying there are bunch of

different courses but that was one of my goals. my ultimate goal was aquatic park but the bridge was the main goal. >> the last time someone was able to swim past the golden gate from the farallons was in 1967. that swimmer was ted ericson, and joseph locke was very happy to show me a congratulator e-mail from ericson, very big deal. lock tells me now that he has done this after so many years of training, what he will do now is rest a lot. reporting live at the golden gate bridge, sergio quintana, abc7 news. >> i think that's a good plan. $4 million, how much the 12th annual avon walk for breast cancer raised in san francisco this weekend. 1800 participants and 238 breast cancer survivors finished the trek through the city right here at fort mason. money raised will help improve

>> a new study could have doctors checking your sense of smell to detect alzheimer's disease. the research was presented today at an alzheimer's conference in denmark. another recent study found sight tests may diagnosis the disease. doctors say these finding would make detection easier. while space is infinite it's cramped on the international space station which is why astronauts and engineers on earth were thrilled to see then signature news capsule take off

for the international space station. it's carrying workout clothes to resist workout bacteria so it won't smell so bad. the rocket will arrive at the international space station wednesday. and unusual auction raked in more than $10 million this weekend. these tanks and other military vehicles were up for sale in portola valley. the once belonged to a silicon valley engineer. when he died in 2009 his family donated his collection to the collins foundation which will use the money to build a military vehicle museum in massachusetts. people from ten countries and 37 states came to bid. the biggest sale is a personnel carry r carrier that went for $1.2 million. >> drones gate bad wrap for their role in bar and spying but a photo contest shows the good side of drones.

it took teamwork and clever engineering to rescue two baby raccoons that fell down a deep construction hole in santa cruz, construction worker notices the animals down a 35-foot hold they called wildfire emergency services. volunteers, construction crews and firefighters were able to grab the baby raccoons with a net and pull them to safety while the mother watched on. drones have a controversial image as they're sometimes used to spy on people or drop bombs. that's why a web site that specializes in drone pictures is trying to clean up their image. they are holding a contest for the best drone picture. here's the winning photo, taken while the drone soared next to an eagle above indonesia. there was also a reader's choice

award. this photo was taken at a waterfall in mexico. the winner's won drones and go gopro cameras. >> for the weather. let's get to frances dinglasan. good evening. i'll show you pictures that might compete with that. live doppler 7hd showing us some clouds are starting to spill in, high-level crowds and temperatures have come compared to 24 hours ago. we increased by double digits in many locations. san carlos, 11 degrees. concord, 13 going warmer. fairfield, 12 degrees warmer, so here's a beautiful picture for you from the east bay hills towards the bay. we see clouds moving in, but didn't stop temperatures from coming up. san francisco, 65. san carlos, 77. san jose, 75. gilroy, 90. half moon by, 61. beautiful high clouds as well from emeryville. so we're seeing filtered

sunshine, but temperatures in the 80s santa rosa, novato. 90s in fairfield and concord. and another shot for you from suit -- sutro looking down towards san francisco. mostly clear skies overnight. near 100 degrees inland tomorrow. the cooling trend starts on tuesday that is correct -- that is a relief inland, so we'll be mainly clear with fog and low clouds at the coast. that's about it. overnight lows, milder. so 55, san francisco, 60s in concord, fremont, san jose and antioch. only cooling down to 70 overnight. so that means temperatures are going to be even warmer tomorrow. we have this hot air mass, high pressure, clockwise rotation, drawing up the monsoonal moisture and that's why we're seeing the clouds. tomorrow we'll see more sun and high clouds. notice areas of green that could be some light rain and even some

thunderstorms in the sierra and the higher elevations on tuesday afternoon. for us, we'll just continue to see the cloudy conditions, and temperatures will be coming down on tuesday. look for high of 91 in san jose, 98 in mortgage gap hill. warm as well -- morgan hill. 86, redwood city, 77, millbrae, and for cooler weather, head to the cost, daly city, 66. downtown san francisco, milder, little warmer than average, 72. low nine has threw petaluma, sonoma and napa. vallejo, 82. look for temperatures to range from mid-70s to mid-80s in the east bay. 79 in oakland. 86 in fremont. 80, hercules, and, wow, near 100 tomorrow, antioch, livermore, pittsburg, and pleasanton. so try to stay cool. here's the accuweather seven-day forecast, a hot day

her first lpga win. next week the men have their british open but today they wrapped up the scottish open. defending champ phil mickelson finished strong with 65 but did not content for the title. that it went to justin rose. he shot a 65 and finished 16-under for the tournament. good for a two-stroke victory. at the pga, john deere classic, brian harmon captured his first tour title, shooting a 5-under 66, making four birdie on the back nine. he held off zach johnson who finished one stroke back. the win was worth $846,000. >> at the u.s. senior open, gene sawer with the chance to win if he could make this birdie putt but lips out. so he goes into a playoff. monte sinks the par putt for the win, the fifth player to take both the path path championship -- the pga championship and the senior open the same area.
