custody this morning. witnesses say the gunman shot the woman to death on the balcony of his home with bullet casings in front the house, with the suspect walking over to a car with two people and opened fire. a female need the car was hurt by flying glass and was hospitalized. our reporter is at the scene and will have a live report coming up at 5:30. >> an investigation is underway if vallejo into a police shooting involving a man with a gun, it happened last night and neighbors called 1991 and reported a man was walking back-and-forth holding a gun. the officers chased the man through the neighborhood and when he turned to face them, they shot him. this morning, police released a photo of the gun they claimed the hand was holding and paramedics rushed him to a trauma center. there is no word on his condition. the sheriff rushed over after

neighbor under arrest. we have more on this case. amy? >> police have been here for seven hours gathering evidence and talking to witnesses. they got the call at 10:30 about the shooting. ones say a man would live hereby at the apartment complex at alabama street shot and killed a woman would was on one of the apartment balconies. she was in her 50's. her name not released. she lives in the area. the man went out in front of the building and started firing again. this time he hit a car with a woman and child need. we are told the child was hurt from flying glass. the man yelled a racial slur at the woman and child before he fired. he is white. they are black. police arrested him. they have not released any

>> you covering fremont, palo alto, north bay and all the bay area, this is abc7 news. it is 5:43. a huge fire destroyed a 2.5 story half under construction. the fire in beverly could be seen for miles away and the flames were so intense that neighbors were asked to evacuate. you can see some of it was difficult. winds fanned the fire so much that firefighters were worried it would spread to other homes. the cause is under investigation. massachusetts windstorm is part of a weather pattern
