me. we're told those patrolmen, and women, fired at the suspect vehicle, which is just beyond the police command center. there were bullets fired and now, we believe there are two victims in that car. the blue ford expedition believed to be owned by one female hostage taken on this chase around 3:00 this the afternoon. one hostage was shot and killed during the pursuit. they were forced into the suv by three bank robbery suspects. it ended at thornton road and auto drive, one suspect was killed the other two, wounded and taken into custody. one hostage was dumped out of the car during the chase. here is how one witness described it. >> she was on the ground.

the center of a controversy surrounding nomination of a student to uc board of regents. today, the board confirmed ucla junior as its new student representative this, despite objections from student groups he received funding from a pro israel group. some muslim students are concerned because they say the donor has made offensive comments about muslims and terrorism. >> the uc system is diverse, it's important to know someone who represents me has an unmitigated commitment to religious tolerance and adversity. >> the only no vote came from other student regent, a muslim student who advocated for a palestinian state when nominated last year. a number of jewish students opposed her nomination. . >> i just think it's a sentiment of the diversity. it's reality of the situation.

oakland city council considering a's 0-year extension tonight, one of three agency that's have to approve the deal. but oakhand mayor jean kwan still reportedly wants that deal sweetened a bit. wayne? >> you have to figure when members of the city council say they're going into session, it's going to be a long night and might go into morning. taking a look at inside of the council chambers for the special session to approve or hopefully continue to negotiate the
