area, and how it plays in helping the wounded heal. reporter: abdul la came to the bay area in 2006 and again last year, after he lost his leg when he was six in a rocket attack on his home in the gaza strip. now his prosthetic leg has been destroyed. >> in gaza, all the family is scared. >> he spoke with us on the phone. our conversation occasionally interrupted by the sounds of gunshots and explosions. >> bomb is very -- >> he says he was injured after a missile was fired in his neighborhood. his grandfather had to help carry the 15-year-old to shelter a quarter mile away. >> we went from my house and we go around for -- and down in the

ukraine say they won't send the victims' bodies back to their families. here's why. >> outrage is growing over the handles of remains from flight 17. family members demanding answers. >> i want to arrange a funeral. i can't. i want my children back. send them home. >> please. >> after days, many of the bodies were finally recovered. today nearly 200 of them were moved to refrigerated rail cars near the crash site but the pro-russian rebels have ignored cries to send the remains back. >> why can't you send the bodies back. >> the top rebel leader said they won't turn them over until international experts come here to examine them. the problem is to the experts are in kiev, no plans for them to travel. and the longer they wait, they longer there's no investigation into the crime scene, evidence unexamined. >> drunken separatist are stacking bodies into the back of

let's take a live look at conditions now from the exploratorium camera. the bay bridge and the clouds. spencer christian joins us for a quick look at the weather. >> a muggy day here in the bay area. you can feel the moisture in air and you can see it on live doppler 7hd. no measurable rainfall. droplets have hit the ground but this is nothing compared to the action in the central sierra where we have had powerful violent thunderstorms breaking out, mainly on the nevada side and the california side. numerous flashflood warnings in effect from placer county to mariposa. many of those warnings have expired, but because of the heavy rainfall accompanying the storms, there could be flash-flooding occurring other even into the evening hours and we continue to follow that situation in the bay area, there's moisture passing through the north bay counties right now. there may be sprinkles hitting

the ground but no measurable rainfall. we have a dryer partern coming up. >> developing news out of sausolito. police investigating the deaths of two people whose bodies were found in a home overnight. someone called 9-1-1 at 2:00:30 this morning after hearing gunshots. police found two bodies in a nearby home. investigators are calling their deaths suspicious. police believe this was an isolated crane and say there's no -- crime and say there's no threat to the public. new details on a fatal rollover accident. a passenger, 22-year-old a rye ya nunez of santa rosa died. the driver, antonio mario suffered serious injury. the driver was speeding on the offramp. then ran a red-light and lost control. he faces several charges,

including vehicular manslaughter and dui. firefighters say the weather played a big role in keeping a grass fire under control in vallejo today. broke out around 9:30 this morning next to an apartment complex on broadway street. firefighters say thanks to high humidity and cool temperatures, the fire didn't spread as fast as it usually would have. they were able to quickly put out the flames. no one was there when crews arrived, but firefighters think the fire started in a homeless camp. happening now. a wildfire burning in washington state continues to rage on, destroying several homes and forcing evacuations of towns. fire officials say they basically evacuated the entire town of mallot northeast of seattle. flames destroyed 200 homes. lightning sparked a cluster of fires that has been burning for six days and has grown to 340 square miles. the flames changed course, pushed by winds, and that aloud some fire evacuees to return home. >> i looked around and i'm like,

for nearly three decade people from around the bay area have come together for a.i.d.s. walk san francisco. each year millions of dollars are raised to help fund the fight against h.i.v. and a.i.d.s. sergio quintana was at the event today at golden gate park. >> the start of a.i.d.s. walk san francisco is often a star-studded event. my colleague, dan ashley, was master of ceremony and was joined by cheyenne jackson who kicked off the event with a song. ♪ imagine all the people >> one of the lead organizers called attention to the group of european a.i.d.s. researcheres who were killed days ago. they were among the 298 passengers aboard malaysia flight 17 when it was drowned in ukraine. >> we did indicate our efforts today to them, to their enormous
