to below average. 60s along the coast in san francisco. 70s around the bay. some 80s inland with clearing from south to north. let's get a look at that traffic with leyla. >> good morning, everyone. 6:01. if you are just waking up with us wiping sleep from your eyes, we're starting off with an accident here in concord. this is on clayton road onramp. an ambulance is headed to the scene. possible injuries involved there. let's go outside to some live cameras starting with golden gate. if you are coming in from marin to san francisco, traffic running smoothly there. if you are further to the north in the east bay traveling along the richmond san rafael bridge, back up there earlier but now disappeared and once you get to the toll plaza at the bay bridge, that traffic is certainly busy there because metering lights were turned on several minutes ago. breaking news overnight. marin county sheriff's deputies are looking for the person who shot a man several times in the face in marin city.

despite the violent act, the victim is said to be in his mid 30s and injuries not believed to be life threatening. the man doesn't live in marin city but is known to the community. he was able to walk a few blocks until he was found by sheriff's deputies. abc 7 news reporter amy hollyfield will have a live report coming up at 6:30. in the east bay, hayward police are looking for the gunman that shot a young man late last night. matt keller is live at hayward police with new details. >> reporter: watch commander here at the hayward police department told me the teen victim is being treated at an area hospital after he was shot in the stomach last night. no arrests have been made in this case. he was shot last night at around 9:30 on oliver street near hesperian boulevard in award. we have video of a man leaving the scene in an ambulance. officers did not release an

exact age but he is a juvenile. the investigation is in preliminary stages. the officers are working on finding the shooter. reporting live in hayward, matt keller, abc 7 news. >> thank you very much. this morning the red cross is finding shelter for people burn out of their apartment building. the fire broke out late yesterday afternoon. flames raced through the first and second floors and into the attic. a couple firefighters nearly fell through the roof but managed to get themselves to safety. the fire crews stayed through the night looking for hot spots. 24 units in all were damaged. the cause of the fire sunday investigation. later today the contra costa county fire district is honoring those who lost their lives in the line of duty. the ceremony will take place at the training center's memorial rose garden at 2945 treat boulevard in concord. the public is invited.

the family of a uc berkeley student this drown in a lake is trying to raise money to hire divers to look for his body. he drown a week ago saturday. divers from the sheriff's department haven't been able to find his body. the family asked a florida team to look. so far the family raised $4,000 on piggybacker. former san francisco mayor willie brown has a new job, lobbyist. the always wheeling, dealings willie brown officially registered with the city as a paid lobbyist representing high-rise developers. the city wants developers to pay $1 billion more than previously negotiated because of soaring property values. brown helped create the agency that is building the new transit center. also new this morning, president obama set to sign executive orders today to

protect lgbt employees from workplace discrimination. the second will protect federal workers from discrimination on gender identity. the orders will leave in place exemptions that religious contractors enjoy but won't offer any new ones. now to the crisis in the middle east. secretary of state john kerry travels to egypt today to join the diplomatic efforts to stop the carnage in gaza and he'll urge hamas to accept a cease-fire. sunday was the bloodiest day of two weeks of fighting in gaza. two americans were among 13 israeli soldiers killed including one from southern california. the palestinian death toll stands at more than 500 with more than half of that number killed since israel launched a ground attack last thursday. at least 100,000 palestinians have been displaced. the united nations issued a resolution calling for an immediate end to the fighting. friends and family of that

southern california soldier who was killed gathered to remember him at a vigil. 24-year-old max steinberg died after he joined the israeli defense forces in 2012. he grew up in the san fernando valley. that's where friends and family got together last night. steinberg's parents say he was a sharp shooter for a brigade. he went on a birth right trip when he decided to join the israel defense forces. his parents plan to fly to israel today to recover his body and bury their son. it's 6:06. new developments in the downing of a malaysia airlines passenger jet in ukraine. the global community is worried about unexamined and vast crash site with victims unaccounted for and growing evidence pointing to russia rebels. we are joined now live from washington with the latest. >> reporter: the families of the victims are furious over how the bodies of their loved ones are

being treated. the rebels have them and say they won't turn them over until international experts examine them. more than 250 bodies from flight 17 have been recovered. most moved to these refrigerated rail cars after lying out in the sun for three days. the bodies are being guarded by pro-russian rebels. outrage is growing. >> i want to arrange a funeral. i can't. i don't know where they are. i want my children back. >> reporter: four days after the tragedy, the crash site and all of the evidence still remain unexamined. the international community is pressuring russian president vladimir putin to use his influence with the rebels to get them to cooperate with investigators. ukraine again today accused russia of aiding the rebels in the shootdown. the ukrainian prime minister calling it a crime against humanity. >> a drunken pro-russian terrorists cannot do that. those were expert people who were trained and we have information that this training took place on russian territory.

>> reporter: the u.s. continues building its case against the rebels and russia. among the evidence, a missile launch from a rebel held area detected by u.s. intelligence at the time the malaysian airlines flight disappeared from radar. audio intercepts of rebels leaders discussing the shootdown. and a u.s. sighting of a russian convoy detecting equipment entering ukraine last week including anti-aircraft missiles brought in before the shoot down and back across the border immediately after. they demand a cease-fire in the area. it's 6:08. >> let's turn things over to meteorologist mike nicco. we talked about low clouds and drizzle. you said you might expect sfo delays this morning. >> absolutely. we've got about one hour and

welcome back. president obama will award the nation's highest honor to a soldier who risked his life to save fellow troops in afghanistan. former u.s. army staff sergeant ryan pitts is the ninth living recipient of the medal of honor. his unit was attacked by the taliban after surviving an explosion he used a machine gun and grenade launcher to take out as many of the enemy as he could. nine american soldiers were killed in the battle. also happening today, airline tickets will cost more but the airlines won't get the money. the transportation safety administration fees are going up to $5.60 for all flights. the current fee is 2.50 for nonstop flight or $5 for connecting flight. congress approved the increase

in december to reduce the deficit. the new fee are expected to raise more than $12.5 billion per year. new this morning, texas governor rick perry will send the national guard to the border to help stop the recent surge of illegal immigrants. perry has been one of the most outspoken politicians in the immigration crisis. the governor according to a memo will send 1,000 national guard troops to the border at a cost of $5 million a week. tens of thousands of immigrants from central america have illegally crossed the border in recent weeks. new this morning, one of the country's major appliance manufacturers is threatening to pull energy star labels from its refrigerator refrigerators, dish washers and stoves. whirlpool is threatening to withdraw from the program unless congress bans class action lawsuits that target appliance manufacturers. they are facing a wave of legal action after government tests a

let's take a look at live doppler 7 hd and show you what's going on right now we're looking at that boundary ever so slowly sliding through the north bay and a little sprinkle and maybe some light rain making it down to the ground from petaluma northward. this is going to eventually fall apart over the next five or six hours. and just keep moving to the north and run out of steam as we head through possibly the afternoon hours. all right. what we're dealing with are winds underneath it that are also going to possibly keep us in the cooler than average regime once again as the marine layer is once again pretty stout. that's where we get drizzle for the rest of -- let's take a look and there we go. forward it out. you can see pretty clear elsewhere except for low marine layer of clouds. you can see 20-mile-per-hour wind at fairfield and because of that is why we'll be cooler than average inland.

replica gun in the car. sounds like a serious incident. definitely you are looking at bumper to bumper traffic leaving pittsburg heading into bay point and another vehicle crash southbound along 242. more on that coming up. over to you. 6:31 now. breaking news overnight, police in the north bay are looking for the gunman who shot and wounded a victim in marin city. abc 7 news reporter amy hollyfield is live near the scene with the latest. amy? >> reporter: investigators say he was shot here but that he was found somewhere else. the sheriff's department got several calls about shots fired in the area of cole and drake just after midnight here in marin city. they say a man in his 30s was shot several times in the face. investigators didn't find him though right away. he did not stay at the crime scene. >> it appears at this point that the shooting took place at one location on cole drive here in marin city and it appears that he did in fact after the shooting occurred walk one or

two blocks away to the point where he was located by the deputy sheriff. >> reporter: he did survive the shooting and is at the hospital now. the man is known in the area but he does not live here in marin city. that's the victim that we're talking about. they haven't released had his name. they also haven't told us anything about the shooter or the motive for this shooting. they're still working the case and trying to make an arrest. reporting live in marin city, amy hollyfield, abc 7 news. police are investigating two suspicious deaths. just before 3:00 yesterday morning police found two people dead after a neighbor reported hearing gunfire. it appears to be an isolated incident and poses no threat to the public. two adults were found dead inside the home. a woman in her 40s and a man in his 50s. no word on the relationship. a 9-year-old girl is recovering after being shot while playing in a park in oakland. it happened saturday night in

west oakland. witnesses say two groups of men fired shots at each other and the girl was caught in the crossfire. at last word police have made no arrests. the surviving suspect involved in a deadly bank robbery and shootout in stockton is expected to be charged with triple murder. police say ramos used misty singh as a human shield. ramos could face the death penalty. to the crisis in the middle east, secretary of state john kerry is headed to cairo this morning to push for a cease-fire between israel and hamas after the deadliest day of fighting in gaza. more than 100 palestinians were killed sunday as well as 13 israeli soldiers, two of held dual citizenship.

lost that leg as a result of fighting in the middle east. he's 15. this is video of him learning to walk with a new productetstheti last year. his prosthetic was destroyed in an attack last week. the palestine children's relief fund which helped in 2006 now plans to bring him back to the u.s. to replace that prosthetic leg. >> dutch forensic investigators are telling rebels that trains holding bodies of train passengers must be allowed to leave within hours. rebels recovered bodies of more than 270 of 298 passengers. many are now sitting in refrigerated box cars.

ukraine's prime minister says the country wants to transfer bodies to amsterdam. the u.n. security council is considering a resolution dema demanding access to where the plane went down. you are looking at satellite images from the crash in eastern ukraine. images were collected yesterday and cover a 1,300 acre area. 298 were onboard mh17 when it was shot down thursday. no one survived. russia denied any involvement and says ukraine's military campaign against the rebels is actually to blame. it's 6:36 now. analysts say the california drought will likely lead to more pollution. the san francisco chronicle reports because reservoirs are low, power companies like pg&e can't produce as much electricity from hydroelectric dams and that means they'll have to turn to power generated ed by or natural gas.

we're learning new details on a late-night shooting in the east bay that injured a teenager. >> abc news reporter matt keller has been talking to police and joins us live from hayward with the latest. matt? >> reporter: this morning the wash commander told me the investigation is still in preliminary stages but he confirmed to me that no vaefarr had been made in this case. a teen boy was shot in the stomach at 9:30 street on oliver street. video of an ambulance leaving the scene on what appears to be paramedics working on a patient in the back. he was taken to a local hospital and is being treated right now. the investigation on the scene was completed overnight. right now investigators are looking into whether or not this is gang related. reporting live in hayward, matt keller, abc 7 news. former secretary of state hillary clinton will be in the bay area today. her visit comes as a new report shows clinton has earned at least $12 million in 16 months since leaving the state
