sunnyvale between a big rig and motorcyclist. katie marzullo is on the scene. >> we have one lane closed. this is what is happening: on the back of the flatbed tow truck is the motorcycle, the person who was killed was riding. the body has been removed. you can see c.h.p. is investigating exactly what happened. we understand the motorcyclist crashed into the back of a big rig and there could be three or four other vehicles involved. they could have run over the body after the accident. how did this happen? witnesses say the motorcyclist was speeding. >>enses put the evening, the motorcyclist, at high speeds possibly 100 miles per hour.

>> witnesses say the victim appeared to be if his 20's or 30's. the slow lane is closed. c.h.p. says it could be closed for an hour. traffic just now becoming up in senator 10 clear and sunnyvale. northbound 101 the next exit after great america parkway is the lawns expressway. last friday you could remember there was a fatal accident a woman was killed in that instance. c.h.p. says all parties were drinking and no one was wearing a seatbelt. >> breaking news in richmond, an overnight fire drove eight people from their homes that broke out before 3:00 on 7th street, paramedics rushed a child to a hospital. there is no word on their condition. a man suffered minor injuries after he jumped from the window.

a cooking mishap started the fire it is believed. >> a man accused of impersonating a police officer to sexually assault immigrants has needed not guilty. he dressed as a cop and kidnapped and assaulted new immigrants from central america. he would take victims to their home and handcuff and drug them and force them interest sexual acts. >> the suspect threatened the victim with deportation or law enforcement retaliation if the victims reported the incident to police. >> the records show that he is a licensed security guard but jeffrey bugal has a long history of impersonating people of authority. he is held on $2 million bail. >> no arrests in the case of a young girl shot in the arm during a birthday party in a popular park. it happened on saturday evening

at lowell park. the girl was terrified. >> we her gunshots and i saw bullets playing. >> the ten-year-old alyssa felt a sting in her arm from a bullet fired 100 yards away. a gunfight between five or six erupted. >> i rap. we were scared. >> it was the worst thing ever to happen. i would never want anyone to go through what i went through. >> the young adults and teens were hanging out where the shots were fired. >> it was 20 something shots more. a lot of them.

43 residents were moved to other care facilities in the area. >> water officials in santa clara valley will consider a plan to hire a new wave of water cops to stop wasting the water the board will vote on whether to spend 500,000 to hire ten temporary workers to enforce water restrictions in silicon valley. they will check on public complaints of water being wasted . they could eventually write tickets. >> the doubt situation going from bad to worse with the latest figures showing 81 percent in california now in an extreme drought. three months ago it was 68 percent, the first six months of the year were the hottest california has ever recorded with experts saying the dry conditions are driving up temperatures throughout the state. >> bart is cracking down on people who sit, lie down or

sleep on the ground inside stations. this is going in san francisco at powell street station. this is targeting the homeless. bart says this will allow them to evacuate stations faster. those violating the rules could be arrested. bart will ex patch the crackdown through the system. amy hollyfield is at the powell street station with a report at the top of the hour. >> president obama arrives in the bay area today to raise money for democrats and will be coming from seattle. he will hold an event tomorrow at a home of a real estate mogul. tickets were $10,000 a person. the san francisco board of supervisors will vote on there to place a tax on sugary drinks in november. the measure would add two

correct an ounce tax. the city's economists released a report predicting the tax would please residents to cut down on drinking soda by 31 percent. >> and crazy bolts of lightning, mike? >> absolutely the last hour it has dropped 16 bolts of lightning moving from half moon bay through pacifica and daly city and colma and now south san francisco where the rain could be reaching the ground. not a lot but it could reach the ground. there is a dry pocket of air. the lightning is mostly the concern. a storm is moving through alameda and oakland and san leandro and could move up toward piedmont all moving to the northeast at 30 miles per hour. along the marin county coast we have encroachment of showers.

we have more developing upstream which is to the south and that is rolling to the north. our best chance of wet weather over the next couple of hours is around the bay into the north bay and this will shift to the north after the 7:00 hour and temperatures will be in the mid-60's and mid-70's. by 4:00 we are in the upper 60's to upper 70's with the threat raining as the chunk of energy moves into northern california and it will be humid but mostly sunny this afternoon and below average. by 7:00 we have temperatures in the mid-60 to lower 70's with a threat of thunderstorms over for now. >> our producer saw lightning strike over sutro tower so it is out there. >> good morning, everyone, unfortunately we are starting off on a not so happy note with two fatalities. the first is here in santa clara northbound highway 101 at great america parkway we have a

covering san rafael, south bay, pleasanton and all the bay area, this is abc7 news. >> we have fast moving thunderstorms and the city on top of daly city and colma will be in san francisco in eight minutes and chinatown at 12 minutes and port richmond in half an hour. get ready for bolts of lightning and rumbles of thunder. san francisco police are seeing an increase in burglaries at technical start-ups. videos like this are letting companies know they are being ripped off. investigators hope someone will recognize the person on camera.

the company believes nothing was taken. police are saying that thieves target the start-ups by blending in the office when employees are at work. >> if you like to shop online for rental vacation homes, scammers are representing homes as theirs and are renting them. >> a gorgeous ocean front home for over $200 a night. it sounds too good to be true but people have been coming to the home anyway. they have wired money ahead of time. >> it is hard for me telling me you cannot rent this. >> stehpanie has been living here three years and repeatedly broken the news that the house is not a vacation rental. ought last family had four kids and it was three dogs and two big trucks pulled up. they were ready to have a vacation. >> santa cruz district attorney says scam artists are posting

bogus ads using photos from real estate sites that have no connection to the address listed in the ad. >> they take the pictures and anyone can do it and say, this is my house and i am renting it. it looks real. >> they have their victims sign rental contracts before they request the payment. >> authorities have not arrested anyone yet. they use fake names and temporary e-mail addresses and never use the phone. authorities say people can avoid being a victim by using a credit card and reputable sites. >> i don't want people to lose their money. they are planning their family vacation. >> a vacation that ended before it began. >> fans of barry bonds are turning to crowd funding to get a bronze stat houston slugger.

than 27 minutes and it will move into downtown san francisco in two or three minutes from now. we have another storm developing but not so impressive over oakland headed through piedmont and lafayette at 18, and walnut creek at 23 and if it holds together, pleasant hill at 28. that not as impressive as what is moving through san francisco. we have scattered showers and possible lightning headed to san rafael and larkspur and mill valley and if it holds together it could reach petaluma and most oh in the next half hour. these are coming in from the south, a chunk of energy rolling along the peninsula and the energy will continue rolling across the north bay headed through the early morning hours until noon and then it will move north of us and the threat will wane in the afternoon. this afternoon, we do not have

thunderstorms in the forecast for the south bay and you may not see any this morning as the storm system is far enough toward the east. temperatures in the upper 70's to mid-80's around los gatos and morgan hill and gilroy and mid-to-upper 70's on the peninsula and with the thunderstorms moving on, it will be humid. mid-to-upper 60's along the coast and 70 in downtown and south san francisco and mid-to-upper 70's through the north bay and the threat of thunderstorms will taper after the lunch hour and we have low-to-mid 70's for the east bay shore and castro valley at 77 and temperatures in the upper 70's to mid-80's through the inland east bay. notice tonight, the little before of moisture is the smaller chunk of energy that will follow the same path as the one this morning so we could wake up to a few more showers tomorrow and probably not the extent of what we are dealing with this morning. seven-day outlook shows two- to four-degrees warmer and the high pressure moves from the desert

check out the thunderstorm tracking through the heart of san francisco from broadway and fulton to market and van ness moving into the marina district. they have had big drops, up to 16 bolts of lightning in the

minutes and point richmond at 16 minutes and san pablo in 23 minutes. there is another strong storm moving through half moon bay and it will run the same track as the one that just came through. it is moving at 30 miles per hour. it will be through san bruno at 13 minutes and south san francisco at 15 and daly city in 23 and bayview district is near you in 27 minutes. this is going to be morning to early afternoon event that will set see the thunderstorms roll law as the energy moves to the north. you can see what i am talking about how it is moving from south to north at 30 miles per hour. if you are headed to the game at the coliseum, no worries. it will be partly cloudy and 70 to 66 so muggy.
