good morning, he is sleeping at the hotel here in downtown san francisco. look at the security here. howard treat is blocked off. we have a lot of secret service officers in friend. police officers are in the area watching this block. the president flew in last night from seattle and want straight to the hotel after 9:00 on a three-day trip to the west coast to raise money and will attend a fundraiser at four seasons this morning in san francisco and head to a private home in los altos raising money for the upcoming election for the democratic party. the trip was planned two weeks ago before the conflict in the middle east intensified. it was before the plane was shot down in the ukraine. the white house says the president will be paying necessary attention to both issues in the next few days. this is the 18th trip to the bay area since becoming

president. air force one is wheels up at 1:30 this afternoon to take the president to los angeles for more fundraisers. former secretary of state hillary clinton is also back in the bay area today. she visited twitter and facebook and google headquarters monday. today she goes to the children's hospital oakland institute to launch a community campaign to encourage parents to talk, read and sing to their kids cosponsored by the clinton foundation. crews work to secure a building when a truck crashed in the front of a liquor store at the house of liquor overnight. they trying to figure out why the driver plowed into the side of the store. she was taken to the hospital as a precaution when she said she was not sure if she was hurt. the store was open at the time of the crash. katie marzullo is at scene now

airport. the new york mayor flew to israel to show it is safe to fly in and out of the israel. >> an 80-year-old san francisco woman is recovering after a bullet shattered her apartment window at the senior housing apartment at 3rd street in the bayview district. sky 7 shows the hole in the frosted glass of the window. the woman was watching tv and glass hit her. investigators recovered a bullet and say it came from a block away. police did not say if the shooting was connected to hit-and-run accidents that injured three in the area. >> police are asking for help to track down the women wanted in a home invasion robbery. a 29-year-old and 32-year-old women left a man badly injured. the suspects could be staying in sunnyvale neighborhoods. santa clara will hire water cops to look for those wasting

water during the drought. santa clara valley water district voted to hire up to ten temporary workers to patrol the district. they will not hand out fines but visit the homes or businesses and try to educate them on state and local restrictions. it costs the district 500,000. >> the municipality district is considering a plan to make it illegal to wastewater. the new rules ban customers from watering their lawns more than twice a week. customers are required to have a shut off on the hose. violators are not fined but there will be water flow restrictors on marines leading to homes or businesses that break the rules. a hearing is scheduled next week. >> did we get significant rain? mike? >> not really, the most was .12" which was west of san mateo. just a little here and there and

covering santa clara, east bay and all the bay area, this is abc7 news. welcome back. in washington, cooler and wetter weather is helping firefighters battle the largest fires in state history with stunning pictures from the front lanes of the fires which has burned 400 square miles in the north central part of the state. a flash flood warnings in effect and heavy rainfall expected raising concerns over the vegetation that has burned.

>> melanoma has a higher risk in marin than any other area of the state after a new study came out showing rate of diagnosis is 43 percent higher than in other bay area counties and 60 percent higher than in the state as a whole. scientists have tried to determine why marin has higher-than-average rates of breast cancer and the findings could put melanoma under the scrutiny. interest and concern over chevron plans to modernize a refinery in richmond. a huge crowd turned out lobbying both for and against the project. cornell has more. a thousand people packed into the memorial auditorium in richmond holding signs, a last chance to comment about chevron 's $1 billion plan to modernize the refinery. >> our position is that modernization of the refinery must make the refinery operations themselves cleaner
