possible disease on timothy drive nearñi highway 101. a work was compacting some materials and reported a suspicious looking ñipackage. after closer inspection by the bomb squad they moved the device to the van, detonated it, and cleared the scene. no word at this point on what that device was. çó the contra costa county i investigating a shooting in antio antioch. police say i started when a neighbor found a rifle in the street. one officer tried toç detain a suspect and man took off in an open garage where the officer pulled out his gun and ended up shooting the man several times. the neighbor hearing the gunshots described what he saw when he came outside. >> i tlink were three cop cars and they're pointing pistols aet a suspect and he was on the ground, on the drive way, and he was wearing a tank top and jeans

he dropped two ofñi his childre off to school after getting very little sleep. he continued toçó work after forgetting to drop off the baby at the babysitter. he found him at the end of theç day. prosecutors say it's a tragedy and not a crime. this afternoon mayor ed lee switched on a new traffic signal at the corner of sunset boulevard and yorba street. an elderly man was killed last february crossing that intersection. and in may a woman was severely injured when she was struck by a car. the mayor used t=-y event to place a $500 million trafficç safety bond on the november ballot. >> about two people each week are ee ler severely injured or killed in our city, so these are thingsñ that are p. we know what solutions can be put in place and this is a good example of that. >> the majority of the bond money would go toward muni and transit improvements.

the city of napa say as 24-inch main ruptured and flooded the street. they capped the leak and no one lost water service. its is the end of the line for students who paid their tuition to attend bryman college. three campuses are in the bay area. clutching brown envelopes contained their sealed envelopes and other paperwork. some knew the school was closing. >> the school closed down about three months ago and ever since then my whole family and i have been saying it's just a matter of time till this happens and it's true. >> reporter: back in may they had to suspect classes when the sheriff's deputies posted an eviction notice in san jose for nonpayment of rent. the landlord's attorney told "abc7 news" that the college was over $87,000 on arrears in its rernt. the dispute was resolve and classes resumed b]há ten days o bryman'sñi parent company filed for bankruptcy. students have been told they won't get diplomas even though they've taken out loans for tuitions from $10,000 to $15,000. >> some are getting transcripts. some people aren't getting anything because they don't have their files. some things are lost. we need to look for another

we'll talk about what's going on with our atmosphere and what may be arriving as we head toward the rest of the workweek. all right, so we have the low clouds and fog at the coast line. we're watching some monsoonal moisture in the south. some heading toward san benito county. could see some the bay area. we'll keep an eye on that. thunderstorms have been firing up in the sierra nevada and because there's a possibility up toward northern possibility there's a fire weather watch until 11:00 p.m. tomorrow night. dry fool combined with storms not a good combo here. here in the bay area, it's feels more humid. relative humidity up. that's because of the moisture moving in from the south. you can see some of that from our emery ville camera, those high end wispy clouds. 65 in san francisco, 69 in oakland krntly in the 70s.

gilroy, a hot 92 degrees. temperatures are generally down 2 to 10 degrees and we have enjoyed a nice day in the south bay. 82 degrees, a high for today. 75 in napa, santa rose rah, 80s around fairfield, livermore. livermore and concord, by the way, you got up to the mid-90s. you can see this is whatw3 we cl summertime here in the bay area with the low clouds at the bay area bridge. we'll see low clouds,çó maybe a sprinkle. hot days continue inland and more clouds arrive on wednesday. that's when it may get real interesting. for the time being we have this disturbance, this area of low pressure pulling up the monsoonal moisture. it's an active pattern which is why we're seeing some of the mid and high-level clouds in the pay area and there's a sprinkle chance. watch whatñrñi happens. it's a tropical storm now. moving to the west-northwest.
