live from the kgo-tv broadcast center this is abc7 news. the coast guard searching for anyone who could have been on this salmon fishing boat found at ocean beach this morning in san francisco. the 38' boat was partly submerge half a mile south of the cliff house in san francisco. nick has the story. the coast guard knows the name of the boat's registered owner? >> absolutely. it is wreckage now. this is now a salvage operation. they are looking for the captain. look over my shoulder. you can see a small crowd has

started to gather. a short time ago officials with part services established a perimeter around the grounded boat to extend 100 yards in either direction as the coast guard asks the public for help in minding the can't -- captain. >> the search started before 4:00 this morning and continues seven hours later. the coast guard recalled that the fishing vessel was grounded at ocean beach near san francisco and the captain may have been decided to jump off and swim to shore. >> at 3:30 or 4:00, the coast guard was contacted that a man was on the rocks and his words, and he was considering getting off vessel and swimming to shore, the 25 yours and he had no other communications. >> a search was start by the coast guard and the combination of dive times and scanning the

surface for body heat picked up nothing. a search of the boat left crews empty handed. >> we had one person on board checking the top part and no one was there. >> officials don't know if he remains inside beneath the surface of the water or swam to shore. it is unstable right new and not safe to board without the right equipment. there are additional challenges and the possibility of 400 gallons of fuel locating into the water. >> there are fumes in the air and some of it may already have leaked. we don't have any signs on the surface it has leaked but it is a fair assumption. >> a salvage crew will work to remove the hazardous materials and get the wreckage off the beach the right now officials do not know why the boat ran aground but they are asking anyone who may have information about the captain of the boat

contact initials. police believe there could be more victims after a mountain view man was arrested on child molestation charges. the 43-year-old man is accused of sexually abuse as seven and ten-year-old girl. their parents called police after the daughters say he touched them inappropriately. he was a handy man at a complex and lured children to a see -- secluded area. >> a burglary suspect was caught in the act on camera. this video is so clear on the surveillance video of the homeowner. he hauls the rock through the glass door at the home on barton avenue. another camera catches him walking away with a large case of watches and possibly other items and he drives away in an older model black nissan. we are asking you please call

. this morning several bay area agencies are helping fight a series of fires across california. at least eight major fires are burning in the north part of the state alone. the two largest are east of re esading and residents are refusing to leave and are staying to help the firefighters. members of palo alto are helping another fire that has burned 26,000 acres with no containment in sight that has destroyed eight homes. san francisco firefighters have arrest another fire that has burped 45,000 acres that is 20 percent contained there is a state of emergency clearing the way for federal money to help. >> a look at incredible video of a firefighter capturing the mistake from the eiler fire on saturday. three firefighters forced to

drive directly through the blaze on highway 89 to get away from the wildfire. a different fire truck got caught in the fire on friday night. >> here is the truck today: just towed back to see if it could be salvaged. the crew made it out. the truck, however, did not do so well. >> in martinez, investigators released new details of the fire at the martinez arena. huge flames could be seen for miles and the contra costa fire protection district says the fire caused at least $20,000 in damage and it broke out around 11 o'clock last night on a pier that was on the ferry stop and now a popular fishing pier that is off limits. it took three hours to bring the flames under control. >> we could not reach it from outside because we don't have a fire-fighting boat from the waterside. that was our biggest challenge. that took the longest to

confirmed that james brady has died, the former white house press secretary would was shot in the head dug an assassination attempt on president president d reagan in 1981. the family says that he passed away after a series of health issues. despite his injuries and the pan he endured every day his fame says he used the humor, wit and charm to make the world a better place. in oakland the first european player to make it big in the nab is helping to dedicate a new basketball court where he spent the hall of fame career. cornell is in san antonio park with more. >> the court dedication is a big deal for the community and a bigger deal for warriors star who is the lithuanian legend inducted into the basketball

you will need your shower cap at the coffee. you thought it was great here but this is a picture at lake tahoe getting swallowed up by clouds and showers. as we look at live doppler 7 hd radar satellite you can see there is fog sliding to the coast and we do have thick cloud layer for a big part of the bay area and looking to the airport we are seeing a break in the clouds. we do have an hour and 10 minutes flight arrival delay and we are at 65 in oakland. we are at 67 in san jose. same in gilroy and half moon bay is at 61. it is because of this upper low coming in and bringing in the moisture from southern california and we saw the flash floods in san bernardino county and you will not get that

rainfall here but we have a light chance of showers overnight and into tomorrow afternoon and as we head into the overnight hours and into the weekend, you can see the upper low above us being replaced by the warm mass bringing in the warmer temperatures by tomorrow and a cool down today. it will change, though. the highs today around california and we have a rain in lake tahoe and yosemite with 95 degrees in palm springs and 81 in los angeles, and we are feeling a little bit of relief from the heat we had earlier and last week, as well. if you are headed to the coe 9 a's will take on the rays at 7:05 and you could family a sprinkle or two bit end of the became and 61 to close us down. as we look at the highs, an the bay area, mostly cloud cover in south bay at 78 degrees in san jose and moving along the
