the woman caught trying to sneak on to planes at sfo a half dozen times has breached security at another bay area airport and this time it worked. good evening. i'm dan ashley. she made it to l.a. without a ticket. a security breech raising serious concerns. 62-year-old marilyn hartman sliped past a security check p oi nt at mineta san jose and boarded a plane and flew away. alan wang is live. alan she has been trying it for quite some time and this time it worked. >> this woman is recognize believe a. her face was splashed all over the news earlier this year after she was arrested for sneaking past a tsa checkpoint at sfo. a judge ordered her to undergo

psychiatric treatment and stay away from the airport, but she tried it again. this time marilyn hart -- hartman took flight and headed to los angeles. they conducted a head count in the air and she was arrested in los angeles. >> she should have never gotten on that plane. >> they say ma mineta san jose airport security told them she bypassed a document checker while he was examining a family's boarding passes. >> pulled the same stunt at the gate before getting on the plane. found a family and went around. >> swalwell is on the homeland security subcommittee. >> two incidents of unticketed passengers getting on a plane at san jose within the last four months is concerning. >> swalwell called for improved perimeter security as a boy climbed a fence at mineta san jose and survived a flight in the wheel well of a

plane. the tsa agents need more training. >> the passenger was screened by tsa for any items. it is important to point that out. >> the tsa is already making adjustments. meanwhile, he will be working in washington to make sure this doesn't happen again. in san jose, alan wang, abc7 news. >> as we have said, hartman has tried to get past airport security six times before. at sfo a february 15th, she made it on to a plane bound for hawaii. fortunately she was caught before the plane took off. three days later she tried again and was caught. then again on february 20th and she was ordered to stay away from the airport unless she had a ticket. but that didn't stop her. she was arrested on march 18th and she tried again on march 26th. hart -- hartman was arrested

on april 7th and now this time on a a trip to los angeles. a bomb threat at the west oakland bart station brought service to a stop. at 7:30 someone reported a possible bomb on an ac transit bus parked right under the tracks near the west oakland bart station. the bus and the station and the businesses and homes in that neighborhood were evacuated and the k-9 dogs checked it out. the trains stopped running through the tube for nearly two hours. this walls the result. it caused major problems as you can see from the crowd on the embarcadero platform. the man caught on surveillance video is under arrest tonight. it happened when the homeowner posted the video on youtube and they let us know the burglar was caught by a san jose police officer working on his day off. thanks in large part to the crystal clear images of the

homeowner's security camera. we now know the name of the landscape contractor who was killed while picking up trash along the freeway in redwood city today. the chp says mark santos of san mateo was working along the shoulder of southbound highway 101. when the 38-year-old from san jose veered off the road and hit him, santos died and another worker was badly hurt. the chp is still trying to determine what caused him to veer off the road and cause this tragedy. tonight the fbi is on the case after a grocery store in berkeley is vandalized. attacked apparently because of something that store just like your grocery store sells. cornell bernard is live with the story. >> a single anonymous animal rights extremist is taking responsibility for vandalism at star grocery. they targeted other stores that sell meat products in the past. it has now caught the

attention of the fbi. >> he has owned star groceries since 1972. the front windows have been replaced, but this is what they looked like recently after someone threw a rock when the store was closed. the upscale meat market in the back of the store was the apparent target. they took the credit on the website bite back belonging to a florida-based animal rights group. they posted cage free organic, murder is murder and death is death. >> we don't understand the logic of no one should eat meat. that's extremism. >> he doesn't know why he was targeted, but the fbi is investigating the attack and had interviewed store employees. the meat market is a separate business. workers say they have nothing to hide.

between san francisco and oakland. oakland had a trace of rainfall earlier in the evening. that's less than .01 of an inch. meanwhile we are looking at the circulation that was produced in the last hour. lightning strikes associated with those storms and as the moisture and instability combine we could see some isolated showers and maybe even a thundershower. dan? >> spencer, thanks. a witness to a bank robbie and a shootout, a -- bank robbery and shootout has shed new light on what happened. the man who wants to remain anonymous was inside the bank of the west when it happened three weeks ago. he said the robbers pushed him to the ground and told them to stair at the carpet. when police showed up they took three people hostage. misty sing and two others died. >> we get out side and hear

say the and the country, people stepped outdoors to take a stand against crime. maybe you did this. it is national night out. it is a chance for neighbors to come together and get to know one another and send a message. the gatherings in san jose come after the counsel shot down ballot measures that would have given more money to police. >> this is national night out at its best. when police, parents and kids can all come together and form a partnership to create a stronger community. but the reality is, san jose residents for the most part are not happy. >> the officers that are just not around. >> safety is their key complaint. earlier the san jose city council took up the issue by considering sales tax measures that could have helped put more police on the streets.

both measures failed and would not go before voters in november. >> i am not happy that it did not pass. it is not good news. >> he admits he is caught in the middle. he wants more officers and the mayor says the special public safety sales tax could have raised $34 million. but the police union and other members backed a different general sales tax that could have been used more broadly. >> everything is connected. when you have kids in the library and the community centers along with a well-staffed police force that's when the crimes are going down. >> some didn't mind the idea of paying more for police. >> the earliest similar measure could be resurrected would be 2016. lisa amin gulezian abc7 news. >> we want to see your national night out photos.

share them at you report at kgo-tv.com. a show of solidarity in san francisco when a muni light rail train got stuck. it was stucked because a car was blocking its path. passengers got off the train and walked up to the car. they literally took matters into their own hands and lifted it out of the way. they took a few tries, but just enough for the train to slip by. two brothers are making up for lost time. frank holland and john holland have not seen each other since the 1940s frank lives in san rafael where a hospital worker helped track down his long lost brother. after a a couple of phone calls frank went to tennessee to reconnect. >> he was asleep and i went over to him and i woke him up gently.

thanks a lot. here is live doppler 7hd. moisture is streaming through the bay area. much of it is offshore right now. although that doesn't mean we won't get a shower. there is a possibility of an isolated shower in the bay area overnight and maybe even a thunderstorm as the atmosphere is more unstable. here is a look at coit tower here at abc7 under partly cloudy skies. the temperatures are in the midto upper 60s in oakland and san carlos and san jose. gilroy 62 and 59 at half moon bay. here is a nice view from the emeryville camera. not much evidence of the thick cloud cover, but we expect the clouds to thicken overnight. it is in the mid60s in santa rosa and napa and novato. 68 concord and 75 in livermore. and one lovely view from our exploratorium cam riew -- camera. you can see the ferry building off in the distance. it will be cloudy and mild and isolated showers are possible. the clearing trend continues

and that will continue for the remainder of the week. here is the satellite-radar indicating why we have this rather unusual weather. an upper level low destabilized the atmosphere is central to our east, northeast. the wrap around moisture is moving throughout the bay area. if it becomes more unstable we could see a thunderstorm as there have been thunderstorms well to our north, but not in the immediate bay area. showers possible as we animate the maps and show you the movement of clouds and moisture overnight. by midday the clearing and the drying out will have begun. the skies will be sunnier than they are today and we will start to get milder and more normal mid-august and early august weather. lots and clouds and maybe a sprinkle or two and lows in the upper 50s to low 60s. tomorrow's highs in the south bay will be generally in the low 80s. upper 80s farther south and on the peninsula upper 70s to around 80 at redwood city. midup toker 60s on the coast and downtown san francisco 69
