control. a fence was damaged and a resident twisted his ankle while trying to put out the fire. witnesses said there were explosive sounds before the fire started. fire investigators say it did not appear to come from the power lines or transformers so they're looking for signs of fireworks. >> the pittsburg fire joins the list of several fires burping in california. the lodge fire is growing after sending eight firefighters to the hospital. those firefighters, plus five more inmate-firefighters who were burned, were airlifted to the burn center at uc davis last night. the santa clara fingerprints are happen with their families. they're seeing extreme fire behavior because of the brought. >> larger fuels, the trees and brush are dead. they're try, and they're burning, and they're creating very large releases of energy which caused that extreme fire

behavior. >> the lodge complex fire is 30% contained and burned more 11 square miles. >> northeast of mendocino county, the eiler fire has now grown to 32,000 acres. 1900 fire personnel are manning the lines in lassen county. flames are 45% contain. full containment is not expected for 11 more days. all highway closures and evacuations have been lifted. the day fire in -- is nearly out. more than 13,000 acres have been burned since the fire was started by lightning last night. another fire, be bald fire in shasta county, is 95% contained tonight. a family in hayward is searching for the son who vanished without a trace. his family says 25-year-old john cruz has not contacted them for ten days. today his family passed out

fliers, hoping someone has seen hem. they say he disappeared between 1:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. wednesday, july 30th. he left on his bicycle but the family says that is all he has used since the day before he left. >> jonathan has not used his cell phone, has not responded, hasn't used -- there's no sign of activity on facebook or any of his constants. he had an atm card and there's no sign of any activity on that since the day -- since july 30th. that's not normal. >> family says cruz had visited the amtrak web site before disappearing. they say cruz rides a disstink silver mountain bike with red wheels. >> a 17-year-old runaway from a children's shelter is in custody on a charge of attempted murder. this morning a fight broke out between two groups of people. the suspect grabbed a wooden stake and hit a 20-year-old man

on the head. that man is in sear yours but stable condition. santa clara police want you to take good look at this 0 woman. she is using a stolen credit card to buy high-end liquor. they say on july 11th she used a car stolen out of a car. thousands of dollars worth of electronics and personal property were also stolen from the car. it is day two of the outside lands festival in san francisco's golden gate park. one of the largest concert events in the state and there are lots of complaints from neighbors about the noise. cornell bernard has the details. reporter: outside lands is rocking golden gate park this weekend and many neighbors nearby feel like a captive audience. they say it's been very loud this year, and organizers are trying to help.

>> for 65,000 concert fans pouring into golden gate park the music has to be loud, just the way many fans like it. >> i like being in the park, seeing my friends, listening to musician. >> doesn't have a ticket but feels like she does. it can get loud at her home. normally she leaves town during the outside lands weekend. >> you have to plan for it so hopefully you leave town. >> noise complaints are coming in from neighborhoods not even close to golden gate park. >> i turn my hearing aid off. >> george can hear base and guitar from edge hill mountain four miles away, and doesn't like it one bit. >> it bounces verifiesly off the bank but they should control the sound. >> outside lands management knows the crowd can be contained to golden gate park but the music certainly can't. it is investigating every single noise complaint it gets. organizers set up a noise complaint hotline for neighbors. every complaint is investigated

with mobile sound monitoring equipment, then relayed back to concert sound technician, who can adjust the volume. beyoncé and jay-z rocked at&t park this week, and rocked a lot of nearby homes, too. many complained it was too loud. so the volume was lowered the second night of the tour, and everyone was happy. but others say they'll suffer through outside lands if if they don't have a ticket. jen is making the best of the crowd. she is having a garage sale. >> i'm stuck at home this weekend due to outside lands i figured i might as well try to pawn it off on people going. >> in san francisco, abc7 news. some bay area kids have a shot at making it to the little league world series. we're live in pacifica where fans are watching their boys go for the win. reporter: i can tell you this crowd is getting excited. the game starts in just maybe one or two minutes, just going to be coming on the air.

everybody is excited to see what happens tonight. a party at pacifica patting -- bats cages where the team practices. there's a lot of love for the game here and a heartfelt connection with their hometown heroes. >> here we go! >> my son was able to get on the bus that went down another 6:30 this morning with friends of ours and he was just so excited to watch his friends hopefully win this tonight, and fly off to williamsport tomorrow. >> there are a lot of kid here hoping pacifica can smack a home run or two tonight. pacifica is a big baseball town and now they have hit me big time since the american little league team, a team of 12 twelve years is having a phenomenal season and they're on track for a berth in the world series.

app. >> a controversial housing plan in west hollywood has been rejected. the planning commission voted against the property and the city council is expected to confirm the rejection. it would have added 64 market rate con condos and 17 affordable units. the building would have featured a separate entrance for rents of the for aable units, nicknamed the poor door. and they would not have access to the building's pool. the developers say they're willing to help everyone in the building share the amenities but it was rejected. >> according to cnn money people are spending more on vacations to las vegas and disney world. he says his resorts generated $50 million last month, that's a record. and disney, our parent company, reports theme park revenue jumped eight percent during the

a fundraiser and silent auction is underway in san mateo honoring a victim of the explosion in san bruno. it's the fourth year in a row for the event which honors 17-year-old high school student william bullis who overcame a physical disability to discover

a passion for cooking. his mom crated the fundraiser. >> knowing that out of that tragedy of 2010, we were able to affect people's lives and touch people's lives. it's just uplifting. very uplifting. >> the fundraiser's goal is $15,000. the money in the form of a scholarship grant will go toward a young adult who wants a culinary career. there's a new app helping people ask strangers, are you going to eat that? leftover is a similar concepting a uber. people post a picture of their leftovers. others can use the app to call dibs and arrange a time and place to pick up the food. the epa's developers say it's a way to eliminate food waste and feed more people but advocates of homeless people say it won't make lines shorter at soup kitchens. >> our clients don't have a

carlos, 68. gilroy, 72. half moon bay, 57. this time i'll show you a beach shot. santa cruz. a lot of folks out there. should be a good day tomorrow as well. quite a range of temperatures. santa rosa, 71. napa, 65. novato, fairfield, concord, livermore, low nowed 70s. temperatures were cooler compared to 24 hours ago. concord, 17 degrees cooler. livermore, 13 degrees cooler. the trend might continue a little bit into tomorrow. the temperatures will be similar to today's numbers. from emeryville we're looking west towards the gray skies and that will continue in spill in overnight. we see spotty drizzle as well overnight. little change in terms of temperatures tomorrow. lightning is possible but more likely in the higher elevations. so, i just want to mention that. we probably won't see much. we have two areas of low pressure, and with the air circumstance -- circulating we

saw cooler temperatures and the animation shows the clouds spill going into the bay with a chance of drizzle. you see the areas of green. we could get some along the coast into tomorrow morning. might continue as well monday morning. spotty drizzle possible. we could see more on the peninsula or east bay. overnight lows in the 50s. 58 in oakland, 56 in san jose. just little cooler. lower six ms. tomorrow morning. highs warm and comfortable in the south bay. san jose, 80. santa cruz, a high of 73 tomorrow. look for mid-70s through menlo park and palo alto. 72 in san mateo. at the coast, we'll see a lot of low 60s tomorrow with the clouds, including 62 at the sunset district for the outside lands festival. 63 downtown san francisco. north bay, range as well from 70 in sausolito, up to 79 in
