tonight fans and friends coping with williams' death gathered to pay tribute to the man who made them laugh and cry. good evening. i'm dan ashley. the local comedy club where williams would perform went dark to honor the comedian. abc7 news cornell better marred is live outside the theater where there is a growing memorial. >> dan, the small theater was one of robin williams' favorite places. he performed comedy here on many a tuesday night and there is no show tonight, but there is a growing memorial to the man who many called a friend and a mentor. >> i come to the theater every tuesday for comedy. tonight i came and there is no comedy. >> rachel hendricks never misses tuesday night comedies. but tonight the doors are locked and the show canceled out of respect for robin williams. a simple sign bearing his name hangs over the front door. people are bringing flowers and taking time to sign this

condolence card. >> he was so funny and so creative and a genius. on top of that, he was able to touch everybody. >> williams often showed up on tuesdays to perform a comedy set and always took time to encourage younger perform earlies. >> he would be hanging out in the green room talking with the young comedians and the up and comers and the bigger names as well. >> the marin county sheriff's department revealed grim details. his wife had gone to bed in a different room and left the next morning without waking him. the actor's perm assistant -- personal assistant was worried when he didn't respond to a door knock around noon. >> about that time they were able to gain access to mr. williams' bedroom and entered to find mr. williams clothed in a seated position and unresponsive with a belt secured around his neck. >> the coroner found apparent knife wounds on williams' left wrist. the san francisco bar where

"mrs. doubt fire" continues to grow. people from all over the world are showing up and leaving momentos behind. flowers cards, flowers and that sort of thing. fans told us they are drawn to the steiner street home because it is connected to a movie and actor they loved. living with depression, addiction and any other illness can feel impossible for those who suffer with it. those at the national crisis hotline have seen a spike in calls for help ever since robin williams' death. here is lisa amin gulezian on the warning signs of suicide. >> are you suicidal? >> it may be a scary question, but those at the suicide and crisis center are not afraid to ask. they have to if they want to save lives. >> they don't want to feel alone. most of the people feel alone. >> robin williams admitted in interviews that he too dealt with bouts of loneliness and depression. the 63-year-old hanged

himself. he said he wished he asked for help especially since depression can affect anyone. >> you don't need to have a particular job or profession or financial status. >> he knows that firsthand. her 31-year-old daughter hanged herself six years ago. they also had what seemed like a lot to live for. >> eventually she just -- she just gave up hope she was ever going to be able to get better. >> ferguson started the out of the darkness foundation. it is an organization dedicated to suicide prevention. she recently asked williams' publicist if the comedian would speak at their october march in oakland. experts agree the key to bat ig ig --ssion is battling depression is talking about it. that's why volunteers here get 2,000 calls a mon for help. lisa amin gulezian, abc7 news. >> and understandably robin williams' death is

a bay area pastor faces charges of sexual molestation involving a child. he lead services at several bay area churches including one in san francisco's richmond district and another in concord. he is accused of abusing a child under the age of 13 for more than a year. people in the east bay are under mandatory water restrictions. east bay mud customers can only water their lawns a maximum of twice a week and use only hoses with shutoff nozzles to wash the vehicle. the water district says it will not fine customers for breaking the rules. the public utilities commission imposed water rationing as well. a 10% cut for all customers with the water meters based on
