cities in the country. the weather is perfect right now. and for four days, plays host to 150,000 people who never set foot outside. [ laughter ] it's a popular, comic-con, because it gives the fans a chance to get up close and personal with the creators and stores of the comics and movies they love. basically, comic-con is the reason soe security team and also people dress up like their favorite characters, like this guy who loves star wars so much, it appears to have consumed his life. >> a lot of people are showing up now. people are driving in. i found a local jedi. what's your name? >> steve. [ laughter ] >> jimmy: jedi steve. not much worse than luke, i guess. but when comic-con started in 1970, it was a small event. it was just one guy sitting in a pile of old "x men" comics. now if you have any hope of beating the crowds you have to get in line the day before it even starts. this morning, the cbs affiliate in san diego caught up with -- the enthusiastic super fan who managed to secure a spot at the front of the line. >> we do have the fans that are parked in line.

[ laughter ] >> jimmy: looks like they're having a lot of fun. there is some exciting movie news today. the trailer for the 50 shades of grey is on the internet. so if your mom doesn't pick up when you call her, that is right. it was a strange choice to have eddy murphy play all the parts. it comes out the day before valentine's day next year, which is good, because according to the hollywood reporter, the movie industry is headed towards its biggest slump in eight years. this summer movie season is expected to finish about 20% lower than it did last year. and for the first time since 2001, no summer movies have broken the $300 million mark in the united states. yeah, i love movies. i want to do whatever i can to help. so i enlisted the services of my friend ya-ya. ya-ya is originally from egypt.
