>> good morning and thanks nor joining us on this sunday. i'm matt cell in or carolyn tyler. we will start with a quick first look at the forecast. here's meteorologist lisa argen. good morning, lisa. >> good morning. it's quiet but looks like fog is moving into the valley. we have some clouds now but that should change. another mild afternoon. 55 right now half moon bay. 60 in oakland and san francisco checking in at 57. the roof camera, the win is calm. that will change later on with the sea breeze. 57 by the delta, 54 in santa rosa, and we look for temperatures today to be just around where we were yesterday, maybe few degrees cooling at the north bay and san francisco. about mid-60s in the city today

with sunny skies in the afternoon. along with the low 70s in oakland to around 80 and perhaps a few low 90s out by the delta. we are looking at cooling as the work week gets underway coming up. matt. >> thank you, lisa. the levi's stadium will make it's nfl debut with the broncos and 49ers. a lot more people are expected. santa clara has made changes. but will it be enough? lisa amin gulezian as details. >> reporter: football fans just can't seem to get enough of levi's stadium. >> see what it looks like all lit up. it's impressive. >> impressive. a state of the art stadium. just one way to describe the 49ers new home. 70,000 fans will converge on the

stadium. >> we are definitely ready. >> santa clara mayor is sure he doesn't expect a repeat of the earthquakes game two weeks ago which created traffic nightmare. a lot of tweaking has been done since then and turn lanes have been added and traffic signals been synchronized. >> we have 32,000 parking spaces. we have 32 here pardon to 19,000 at candlestick. see it's just getting people to the spaces. >> this shows the 29 parking lots. and people will receive turn by turn direction toss get them to their parking spaces. light rails will be running. all of it should help with congestion. those given near the stadium were given special red stickers so they could get in and out of the area easily. they have mixed reaction. >> i'm not very hopeful. they have people coming in and people coming out, and the last time was three hours. >> the city has planned enough to make it so that it won't be

>> reporter: a small bouquet of flowers and a single candle. this is a small memorial for 2-year-old mi-yana gregory. she was killed friday night in the nearby crosswalk. her aunt says the two-year-old and her mother were walking across the street from a theater when the driver of a white four-door sedan whizzed by. >> she was hit by a driver in drag, and that's pretty much it and the car kept going. >> this is a series that was taken for the parking garage. you see the front of the car, the rear of the car and then the whole car. throughout the afternoon and evening, san francisco motorcycle officers have been handing out citation after citation on this very short stretch of mission street. >> the san francisco police department is on heavy enforcement due to the tragedy that occurred with the two-year-old child and a white vehicle that was involved in a hit run and. >> these are pictures of the scene just after the hit-and-run that wesley shot. he said this is a busy area,

especially on a friday night. >> little evidence markers. it looked like a shooting or something and then we asked what happened and we found out about what happened. >> mi-yana gregory's family said they are in shock and the search for the driver in the hit-and-run isn't helping. >> i wish i didn't have to go through the pictures of the camera. you turn yourself in and you know what you did. >> investigators are hoping anyone who can identify the car can give them a call. in san francisco, sergio quintana, abc7 news. >> the woman known as the stow away is out of jail after serving three face. last wednesday a los angeles judge sentenced 62-year-old marilyn heartman to 177 days in jail for violating an order to stay away from l. a. x. without a valid ticket. but she was released yesterday because of overcrowding. earlier this month she snuck on to a plane without a ticket and flew from san jose to l. a. x.. she's already banned from sfo where she's been arrested six times. one person is dead and

another injured after a private plane crashed in eldorado county. two men were in a plane. one taken to the hospital and other died at the scene. the plane is registered in san jose. the plane reportedly circled the airport before disappearing. now to the latest in the small missouri town of ferguson. violence broke out overnight as police tried to enforce a curfew, leaving one person in critical condition. we have the developing story. >> reporter: another to standoff between demonstrators and police. >> continue to disburse immediately or be subject to arrest. >> just after the midnight curfew went into effect in ferguson, missouri, the state highway patrol said they reported people of guns on the rough of a restaurant and responded. officers were met by a protester

pointing a gun and a crowd that refused to leave. the s.w.a.t. team moved in and they are firing teargas at the protesters. >> i was hit full in the face with the teargas. >> they took the extreme measures only after hearing someone in the crowd had been shot. >> we had a shooting victim. we had a subject standing in the middle of the road with a handgun. we had a police car shot at tonight. yeah, i think that was the proper response tonight. to maintain officer safety and public safety. >> the curfew here outside of st. louis put in place after nearly a week of violence following the shooting death of an unarmed teenager by an officer. today the parents of michael brown will rally again, pushing for answers in the case and some much-needed peace in this community. marcie gonzalez, abc news, ferguson, missouri. >> the event in ferguson will be

one of the topics later this morning on" this week." george stephanopoulos will also about military reaction action in iraq. you can see it right after this news on abc7 >> a march got out of control. it took downtown oakland and berkeley friday night, denouncing police violence after the shooting in ferguson. businesses were spray painted and people wearing masks smashed people. >> we had nothing to do with it. we are thousands of miles away from what happened and now i have to pay $700 to have a window replaced. >> i understand the anger and everything, but i don't know if this was particularly the right way to express it. >> oakland police say one officer was assaulted by demonstrators and one was pepper sprayed. two protesters airplane rested. in santa rosa there was a protest when a deputy returned to the streets this week.

last october a deputy shot and killed 13-year-old andy lopez. the teen was carrying an air soft gun made to look like a- ak-47. last year the officer was cleared of wrongdoing. yesterday protesters outside the sheriffs quarters headquarters said they want justice for lopez. >> it was disrespectful to the community to put the man who killed a child back on the streets to patrol their street. >> i don't think he should be returning to work in this county. he should be, if anything, working elsewhere. a lot of people are not happy that he's going to be on the streets once again after this happened. >> protesters say the shooting and protests followed high-tensions between the law enforcement and the latino community in in sonoma county. >> people protested the arrival of anition railly cargo ship at the port of oakland yesterday. several groups marched.

event organizers asked dockworkers to show their support by not going to the work. those on the other side of the conflict said israel must be able to defend itself against attacks by hamas militants. turning to weather, looks like we have another nice day. >> yeah, we have to get through the low overcast. right now it's 56 degrees downtown san francisco with the west wind at 13. no airport delays yet but they could stack up shortly. we will talk about we will be a couple degrees cooler in some spots today. that's coming up. >> and crews continue to battle a 12,000-acre wildfire in mendocino county. the reason they believe it will be contained by later today or later this week. and a bay area ice bucket challenge. why this one was so much about just dumping ice water on

today where it will be nice and warm in the lower 80s. a judge ruled there's enough evidence for a former high school security guard to stand trial for attack a child in a wheelchair. the security camera shows him punching and dumping the boy, who has cerebral palsy, out of his chair at oakland high school. a student said he was pushing him to class when martinez spit him in his face. another guard stopped the attack and mitchell was stopped and fired that day. he will return to court for arraignment and have a trial date set. new details in the disappearance of a hayward man. his family said he was mugged. according to a facebook post, 259-year-old was meditating in a park on july 31st when he was attacked. his family and friends started posting missing flyers when he didn't hear from him. turns out he was in a hospital the whole time. medical center reached out to the family. says their son is expected to make a full recovery.

four people, including a child representing comfortably this morning after being resting from their burning boat in southern california. the brand new 40-foot yacht caught fire about two hours often the coast of malibu. a man took these pictures of the to smoke on the water. three adults and a child managed to get on a life raft before the coast guard arrived. the yacht sank. no word on how it started. firefighters say they hope to have a wildfire contained by wednesday. calm winds and low winds is helping them get out of control. it broke out 2 1/2 weeks ago. the fire is about 75% contained right now. last week 8 firefighters were hospitalized. today the cost of fighting the fire stands at $35 million. nearly a week after his death, fans are still honoring robin williams. the memorial in front of the

be fairly comfortable once again. subtle changes come in towards tomorrow and tuesday. sfo right now with a light west wind so coastal clouds across the bay in morning. it will be a sunny and breezy day today as an area of low pressure visits us. the coastline, general way. we will see a somewhat steady pattern throughout the work week where temperatures will be in a similar range. i think the cooler days will begin the week and then we will see the numbers slowly come back up by the end of the week. here's a look at what going on. there is just a little twist to the clouds to the north of us. and that will allow for not only the steady sea breeze, but perhaps tore it to be a little more enhanced in the days ahead. so the marine layer about 1500 feet deep. little change with that. that will allow for temperatures today to stay pretty comfortable around the bay. so another day with numbers just at about 90 or above in livermore. and then as we go through tomorrow and tuesday, notice the cooling, about five, six degrees. then by the end of the week it looks like temperatures want to

come up just a little bit. but there is some discrepancy with the forecast models towards the end of the work week. 89 today in morgan hill. look for 82 in san jose. a nice, warm day here in the santa clara valley. 79 palo alto. very little change with the sunshine. breaking through the clouds about 10:00, 11:00. san francisco a degree or two cooler at 67 today. and up in the north bay we will be breezy with 78 petaluma. 83 calistoga, near east bay low 70s return for oakland. 78 in union city. and you head inland look for highs today in the upper 80s for concord, livermore, and once again maybe about 91. and the delta breeze keeping temperatures pretty comfortable out toward even sacramento today. the accuweather seven-day forecast shows temperatures today similar to yesterday and we look for the summer spread to continue with slightly cooler conditions through early next week and then a slight recovery. so not really much excitement in

>> this is abc7 news. good sunday morning. we are starting this half-hour with a look at the weather. here's meteorologist lisa argen. hi, lisa. >> hi, matt. good morning. here's a look from our emeryville camera. can't see all of the bridge here because the shrouded in the low clouds. temperatures range from the mid-50s half moon bay. 8-mile visibility. less than that up in the north bay and even some mist and drizzle. low 60s san carlos and oakland

this morning. we will look for temperatures to be a little cooler as you head on out, except up in napa. they were down to 47 yesterday. but then by the afternoon it will be fairly similar to yesterday. still a couple of 90s into play in our inland valleys. but take a look here. by 6:00 we are still looking at the fog and it will be with us right through the 8:00 hour. 9:00 still over the bay. and it's going to take until about 11:00 until it pushes back to the shoreline. that will bring low 80s into the santa clara valley. once again, low 70 eats in our near east bay and mid-60s san francisco. we will detail the 49er forecast coming up. matt. >> thank you, lisa. u.s. forces have carried out another round of air strikes against islamic militants in iraq. the 9 air strikes are in northern iraq taken by isus fighters earlier this month. saturday's attacks destroyed more than a dozen armed vehicles used by the militants.

is it an easy target or a bait bike? abc news, san francisco. >> san jose is the latest city to impose water conservation measures. our media partner, the san jose mercury news reports the city council at their next meeting is expected to declare a city-wide water shortage. residents will be asked to cut water use by 20%. it will make it illegal to water lawns in the city between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. people using recycled water are commented. residents who ignore the rules will not be fined, but they could receive a warning. california is suffering through one of the worst droughts in their history. a california fish thought to be extinct because of the drought was found. small fish found in one county. many water sources have dried up. u.c. davis biologists found hundreds in a creek in westernsen nor yeah. creek is fed electric two

traffic moving well this morning on a sunday. a little bit of overcast conditions out there. low clouds in some spots. but things warming up nicely, at least in the inland area. a train is for sale in kern county. not a model train but a real train. the man started building it 25 years ago an his rural property. on the front one of his children's silver baby cubs. the train has been entertaining the community for more than two decades but now he hit the brakes. and he his wife sold their house and now the train. >> this was the last hoorah. somebody needs tone joy it. and sitting in my backyard wouldn't do thank there's a phase in everyone's life, and it's time to go on at this point for us. >> the asking price is $2,350,000 and includes the barn. they say they have not had any serious offers yet. they have until the end of the year to sell it or it will go

hour or so. sunny and breezy throughout the afternoon today. i think the city could cool down a degree or too. nothing too notable but we look for a somewhat steady pattern for the week ahead. as an area of low pressure visits us tomorrow, we could see two to four degrees of cooling finally inland. here's the twist in the atmosphere. one of them today allowing for the stronger sea breeze, but another area of low pressure will develop in the days ahead. and this is what could bring us some extra cloud cover by the end of the week. so the models not really all agreeing right now in the extended outlook. but looking at temperatures once again to be warm inland into the valley. 96 in sacramento. elevated sub of here in los angeles. strong rip currents, 88 there. another hot day in yosemite at 87. and the sierra nevada sunny skies but by tomorrow and tuesday we could see some showers toward mount shasta and higher elevations. in terms of high temperatures

>> good sunday morning and thanks for joining us. i'm matt examplar in for carolyn tyler. let's start with a quick first look at the weather with meteorologist lisa argen. good morning, lisa. >> good morning. the weather not picking up any returns. just some mist and drizzle in parts of the bay, certainly along the coast. from the east bay hills camera it looks like. you see the low clouds here. similar to yesterday and the sun coming up in less than 30 minutes. it's 56 in the city. 60 across the bay. and in the south bay low 60s. mid-50s half moon bay. visibility upwards of about six miles or so. so starting out just a couple degrees cooler in most locations, except novato and napa, where numbers really dipped low yesterday. we will look for another sunny and warm afternoon inland. so highs there
