it's like i'm in heaven right now. >> for these fans, heaven has a 50-yard line but for some traffic getting to the game had them praying they would make it in time. fans have great expectations for the 49ers and in the new stadium. thank you for joining us. we begin with the 49ers debut at levi's stadium. we have lie coverage of the levi's stadium review. and we begin with the mass exodus from the game. reporter: you can see right now

there's really not a whole lot of people who are leaving the stadium anymore. it's basically cleared out. that is because the flow of people leaving the stadium started a couple of hours ago, rind halftime, stream of red jerseyed fans left in steady exodus. highway patrol officers began blocking off certain lanes, buses lined up to help shuttle people out, and there were mixed reviews of the overall experience at the brand new levi's stadium. lots of people said it was too difficult getting to the venue and face a couple of hours of gridlock before stepping foot inside. so many left early to avoid the headache again, and the warm weather was another reason. >> why are you having early? >> you know why. traffic. >> okay. >> it's crazy. >> just the regular seating is very hot and those -- in the dead sun. i felt like i was sitting on the surface of the sun at certain

times. >> there was one traffic incident that happened as fans were leaving. a large truck made contact with a couple of bicyclists who were leaving the game. paramedics treated the man, woman and child on the bikes but no one was transported to the hospital. the driver of the truck was given a field sobriety test on city scene, and i spoke with the police officers and they say the driver did have alcohol in his system but not to the level of them citing him. he was given a warning. there was a report taken, and he was let to drive away. as far as traffic is concerned, right now, it's actually pretty freely going. reporting live in santa clara, sergio quintana, abc7 news. >> let's take a look at the drive time traffic map. you can see a little bit of yellow and red so there is a little bit of a slowdown on on el camino, but most of the people are gone at this point, and let's take a look at the

ground using cell 7 technology. you can see pretty smooth ride out of the stadium and 237. earlier today heading to the game we left san francisco at 10:00 a.m., took an hour. backups began around 11:30. cornell bernard is live at stadium parking lot with a look at how fans got to the game. cornell? reporter: many fans are still heading home from levi's stadium tonight. vta, light rail, we are seeing a line here, but that really seemed like the smart way to good today. but those who drove their cars, well, they say before kickoff there was a lot of confusion and a lot of traffic. >> before gametime sky 7hd flew over parking lots near levi's stadium which were filling up fast. fans say they followed directions on the parking pass. >> easy in, no issues. >> mike a right-hand turned. >> the chp had extra officers on

providing enough earlier this month for a soccer event which caused a lot of delays. >> the way home be just as easy. that's yet to be determined. >> after the game there was a long lied of riders -- long line of riders waiting to get home. we're back live. the lines for light rail have been moving fast. extra trains are standing by. i spoke to the mayor of santa clara off camera and he says for the most part the thought things went well. traffic was a given but the traffic plan will be reviewed this coming week. a lot of fans we found were very surprised. there are 21 lots. all around the stadium. a lot of fans were surprised how far some of the lots actually were, like seven to ten blocks from here. so a lot of walking if you didn't plan ahead and get a lot that is close to the stadium here. we're live, abc7 news. >> and you can see levi's

stadium at the top of the screen on sky 7hd flew over season clare a golf course, showing cars on the fairway. fans were permitted to use the course for parking during niner games. that's 5,000 more spaces. the niners well play for improvements to the grass. >> tiffani wilson has been hanging out with fans who couldn't wait for the first opportunity to talegate and celebrate at the new stadium. hi, tiffani. >> just a couple of hours ago the parking lot was filled with barbecue and i think the tailgating was the highlight of the day. fans hope this is not a preview of what is to come. >> make no mistake, that's preseason games means serious business for niners nation. >> the maiden voyage. >> greg palmer and his brother

and also charges pg&e with 27 counts for for recordkeeping. this nullifies a charge in april with 12 felony violations. >> activists and rallies outside 14 bay area whole foods markets today from mill valley to palo alto. they say they're trying to save the bunnies. whole foods will be selling rabbit meat at certain stores, many in northern california. it's as more americans are eating rabbit as a more sustainable, leaner protein option. those advocating against the eating of rabbits say the animals or the third most popular pets. >> a memorial for robin williams. >> when he game to an event and met a group of recovering people, he flew to them, and they lit it up together. they made electricity.

we met a 49er fan who proudly disdisplays his niners pride. he has eight team tattoos and has been a fan since he was 13. he lives in camarillo and thought nothing of making the trip north to levi's stadium. he says being there is like a

dream come true. here's a rare look inside the levi's stadium. the 49ers tweeted this picture of the judge before kickoff. larry beil tweeted out this picture showing the sea of red in the stands. the first niners crowd at levi's stadium. >> we have an entire collection of photos from the inaugural game at levi's stadium. seive it at abc7news.com. for now, let's get a check on the weather. fans were saying it was hot at the new stadium, i bet, compared to candlestick. >> temperatures in the 80s. they needed the sun screen, shades, hat, put we're tracking cooler numbers. live doppler 7hd right now, the sweep going around the bay area, empty, cloud around the coast but generally sunshine for most locations. the exploratorium cam, a beautiful shot. lots of sunshine. temperatures, san francisco, 64.

san carlos, 81. 76, san jose. half moon bay, 61. the opposite side of the bay, emeryville cam will show you plenty of sunshine but notice right along the coast the clouds are still hanging pretty thick. they'll invade inland locations later tonight. current temperatures, napa, 76. 82, novato, fairfield, 89. concord, 88. livermore, 88. one final shot owe of the golden gate and that will illustrate the low-lying louds along the coast. the top of the bridge is obscured. clouds will thicken overnight and fog move in. a touch cooler on monday. we'll talk about drizzle possibly tuesday morning. satellite and radar, the wider view, we're tracking high pressure, just sitting in the pacific, meandering and going to stay there for the next couple of days. for us that means getting the cool wind off the ocean waters, bringing cooler temperatures

inland. right now look at winds. rather active, especially at sfo, 31 miles-per-hour. oakland, 15 miles-per-hour. hayward, 14 miles-per-hour. and those winds will continue overnight and monday, and that will help to cool us off just a little bit. overnight lows, mid-50s, partly cloudy skies inland. 59 overnight low in antioch. highs tomorrow, one or two degrees cooler than today. 80 the high, san jose. 78, milpitas. north, 79 for redwood city. 61 in pacifica. the sunset strict, 65. your daytime high tomorrow. 81 in santa rosa. 81, sonoma. 80, napa. highs in the east bay in the 70s. in inleak indications, warm but not as -- inland locations, not as warm as today. a high of 90 in livermore.

get hurt today. the 3-0 denver lead early second quarter. peyton manning having his waive the niners defense. he was done after two possessions. this game was about at the point where fans started meandering aimlessly around the stadium and when phil dawson missed his second field goal. a rough outing for the backup. leading to another denver touchdown. san francisco, shut out 34-0. two preseason games, two blowout losses. i watched the game from the comfort of the abc7 sports department. larry beil from the plush press box. did the experience meet expectations, minus the score? >> i was expecting to see some actual 49er touchdowns. from that standpoint the game

was not too fulfilling but the stadium is magnificent. 75 degrees and sunny, a light breeze. actually too hot for some people who had to scurry underneath the overhangs because they were getting too burned. inside the press box, beautifully air conditioned, and a lot of food to eat. when you talk about the actual game it was a nightmare for the 49ers. you're talking about two preseason games in which they have been outscored 57-3. i talked to veterans like frank gore and vernon davis and they were not panicking and just said, calm down, echoed by coach jim harbaugh. >> def nuttily off in correctable ways. we need to get better. >> every time you step on the football field you're trying to
