abc7 news begins with breaking news. breaking news in the north bay where a domestic violence suspect leads authorities on a chase that hits several cars, sends crash victims to the hospital and ends with two businesses picking up the pieces. >> good morning. thanks for joining us. our reporter joins us from sausalito near fred's restaurant with the latest on the wild story. police just re-opened the street. look at damage behind me. you can see hair solutions was

hit. fred's place is behind there. they suffered broken windows, as well. look at the video you can get a better picture of how much chaos this entailed. started with domestic violence incident in marin city yesterday and the driver of a buick was wanted for the crime when a marin county sheriff deputy saw him driving this morning and the suspect took off, the deputy pursued and witnesses say the suspect was absolutely flying south on bridgeway when he slammed into a gore at the intersection of spring. he then sideswiped an s.u.v. and crashed into a minivan and pinned a man against a restaurant at fred's place. amazingly that man walked away. police say the suspect jumped from his car, tried to run away, witnesses say he even ran over to sailor's restaurant, went up on the roof and jumped off the

roof when the police arrested him. >> we very fortunate we did not have more injuries or fatalities in this incident given how busy this intersection is. this is a popular location for locals to have their coffee. we are fortunate more people were not in the area at the time. >> four people were taken to the hospital. the suspect, someone who was in the ford suspect, and a woman and a toddler inside of the suspect's vehicle. thatted it her was not in a restrained seat. we do not know the extent of the injuries. we do not know the woman and the toddler's relationship to the suspect but police say they are not the same woman and child involved in the domestic violence incident great marin city. a lot more to come. the investigation is active. the cleanup will go on all day.

we will have more coming up. >> a pilot is dead after his plane crashed in marin county sparking a 40-acre wildfire. the f.a.a. says the happy was flying from oregon to san carlos and he reported engine trouble and said he would land at marin county airport but did not make it. amy hollyfield joins us in petaluma with more on the story. amy? yes, matt, they are trying to figure out why the plane crashed. there were reports of trouble. look how gray it is. this is actually a lot more clear than it was overnight weapon the crash happened. there was very thick fog that brings drizzle with it. that impacted rescue crews' ability to find the crash site and could have hindered the pilot. here is a picture of what is left of the plane that crashed

overnight in west marin county. the crash site is remote. on private property. it is considered a crime scene. the sheriff provideed this picture. federal investigators will arrive and look for clues. the f.a.a. lost contact with the plane around 9:30 last night and rescue crews starred to look for the plane after 11 o'clock. and all hills and grassy areas are used for cattle ranching and there was no one or no property or residence threatened by the accident or the fire itself. >> this picture shows the plane that crashed.

according to flight aware, which provided the picture, the plane is registered to a man from redwood city. he radioed in he was having engine trouble and he would try to make it to the novato airport. he crashed seven miles west of the airport. they have not found anyone who saw the crash. a couple of ranchers heard something. >> there were two people who heard a low-flying airplane around that time and thought it was strange and out of the ordinary that it would be flying so low. >> the largers say the fire and out but the fire department is not calling it contained, only 75 percent is surrounded by the perimeter they like to dig out to keep it safe. the ntsb investigative team is coming from arizona and it will be some time before the team can get there, get on site and get the investigation going. >> thank you, hose -- san jose

police are investigating two separate hit-and-run accidents two nights in a row on the same busy stretch of road. >> that is right. new information i can tell you that the driver responsible for yesterday's hit-and-run accident is in police custody and has been arrested. this is less than 24 hours after someone was truck and killed on the same road. look at the video shot immediately after the doesn't. officers and paramedics responded on senter road after calls of a man being hit and seriously hurt. police found an adult man in the street with life-threatening injuries, an ambulance was called and the victim was rubbed to the hospital. police canvassed the area and the driver of the car that hit him. they say at 10:00 a woman came back to the area, identified herself to police and claimed responsibility for the hit-and-run accident. >> approximately go hours later

the driver did run to the scene. the officers on the scene are still investigating this as a hit-and-run accident as the driver did least although she runed. they took her into custody transported her to the processing center where the investigation is continued. police are not sure about the status of the investigation, why the driver left or what made her come back saying they will let that will out when she is charged this is unsettling, a hit-and-run accident in the same area of the day before. sunday night a 61-year-old man was struck and killed near the same area and the driver did not stop. he was rushed to the hospital and he later died from the injuries. the driver in that incident has not been identified. i can tell you that san jose are asking anyone with information about either hit-and-run accident contact the san jose police department. thank you, san jose police have released the identity of

the suspected drunk driver who caused a massive accident that sent ten people to the hospital. authorities say 22-year-old was behind the wheel of a black mercedes that ran a red light on sunday night. the car broadsided another, rolled over several times and damaging eight vehicles. the intersection was closed ten hours. >> developing new, there are concerns of possible explosions from a wildfire near yosemite. officials say the junction fire is burning near a propane facility. so far, 1,200 acres have burned and on structures are threatened. a thousand people have been evacuated. highway 41 leading into yosemite is closed. protesters have clashed again with police in ferguson, missouri, where an unarmed black teen was shot by police ten days ago. here is the latest on the unrest. it is becoming a nightly
