working to prevent. >> in the south, a different fire burns 3100 acres near lake isabella our officials believe some structures have burned, there is no estimate just yet. governor brown secured a grant from fema to cover the cost of fighting that fire. >> roj robert image krrtd air traffic controllers saying he was having engine problems at 9 carolina. 30. he was headed from brockings oregon to san carlos, because of the engine issues, he hoped to make an emergency landing in nevada. he was not heard from again. marin county crews searched for three hours before they found his plane's wreckage. it sparked a brush fire. they finally got a handle early this morning. it burned more than 30 acres.

the sheriffs department says it made it difficult to track down the plane's wreckage. >> last night the heavy cloud cover was difficult we tried to locate a plane t. cloud cover was too great. there was no way they could have seen through the crash. >> the crash and fire did not damage any structures on the ground, people are mourning the loss of a veteran rock climber in yosemite over the weekend it happened after proposing to his gi girlfriend friends say parker was truly a special person. >> he was always loving everybody. he really genuinely wanted to know what you were doing and up to he had enthusiasm. he just lifted everybody up

died. he survived through the night and died this afternoon. the driver left the scene. police say two hours later she returned and identified herself to police. >> there is a variety of reasons why people leave. officers will be looking into that. that will be a pasht of a decision-making process as to whether charges are fooirld filed. >> on sunday night, a person was killed. the driver in that incident has not been found. today police say they are looking for a 2001 black or clark honda sick missing a right mirror and windshield weather stripping. it may have damage to the right fender. a cargo ship is on the move after protests uss cole the israeli owned vessel. it shows you the cargo ship pulling out of port. over the weekend, thousands of pro demonstrators blocked the

entrance to the term false trying to stop the ship from unloading its cargo. they sent workers home because of concern about their safety. it is believed the ship left port without being unloaded. dozens of police officers converged on university today to train for the possibility of a pass shooting. officers combed the campus with their weapons drawn. the drill helps university police coordinate its response with the hay waerd police department. the drill took on regular importance after the arrest of two pasadena high school students arrested for supposedly plotting to kill staffers and studen students. >> the suspects have it planned out. it's premed indicated to sit back and wait usually means more victims. >> the drill gives the police officers the confidence and training to engage a gunman without having to wait for hay wade police officers to arrive. well, money is slowly

trickling in for an easter bay school trying to replace dozens of items over the summer. thieves started colonial acres near san lorenzo twice in the past week. they've taken school supplies, including items belonging to the boys and girls club. the principal set up a go fund me campaign. it's titled colonial acres supplies. so far, $4600 has been raised. the goal will send thousands. >> a good cause. still ahead, free pot in berkeley? well, there is a catch. >> our program provides free cannabis to individuals who qualify. >> plus, uber wants your vote of support the big shot campaign managers hired to win you over. >> the national football league, the super bowl halftime show. >> flash

you are looking at submerged neighborhoods in arizona after monsoonal rains pounded the area, drone wereing it with an inch of rain in just a few minutes. rescue crews had to help people strapped inside their homes by the flood waters. more than four inches of rain pummelled some areas of the state within 24 hours. that closed roads and caused flight delays out of phoenix there is some relief for residents. a search and rescue operation is under way if italy after two fighter jets collided in midair. it happened during a training exercise in eastern italy. four people are believed to be missing. one witness says there was a

of medical marijuana. linda gets her medical marijuana prescription filled once a week. >> it's daily. >> reporter: she lives in berkeley and has been diagnosed with a terminal illness. under the city's new rules, linda could qualify to get her cannabis for free. >> i would say hundreds a week. i would say i spend hundreds a week on marijuana. >> reporter: dispensaries are required to provide free medical marijuana to people who aren't just low income but very low income. >> if you are making 40 or 50 or $60,000, you don't qualify, so don't even try. >> reporter: to call, a patient must show proof of residency, including tax forms, have a medical marijuana card and be registered at a berkeley dispensary. there are 35,000 students in the city limits. unless they're residents, they don't meet the requirement. they must set aside operating costs. most in town offer a similar

at city hall t. mayor says the usual summer spike in violence is just not happening this year. >> it's really gone down significantly. this is one of the most peaceful summers. it looks like we will have a record homicide this year. i think all of this adds into it. >> the program targets the city's poorest neighborhoods. it created a record 2,100 jobs this summer. >> texas governor rick perry has booked on two felony counts of abuse of power. he was fingerprinted and had a pug shot taken. as you can see, he smiles for the picture. perry turned himself in today. the governor was indicted last week by a grand jury on charges of co sergs and oppression after he turned down a veto funding to a state corruption unit. he calls this a political ploy and promises to fight the charges, we have a debate tonight for the california's

governor's race. jerry brown and kneel cashkari will meet. brown agreed to one debate out of ten so far. most polls show him leading by 20 points. brown debated three times in 2010. a man widely considered to be the mastermind will be working soon for uber. the ride sharing service says they hired him as senior vice president of policy and strategies. experts say the main focus will be to company against taxi companies. they expect it to be a major imprediment. they say uber has the chance to be a once in a decade if not once in a generation company. of course, that poses a threat to some. i've watched as the taxi industry cartel try id to stand in the way of technology and big change.

can see the low clouds are hovering over the city right now. temperatures 66 in the city, 76 in oakland. 76 in san jose, gilroy, temperatures this afternoon in places like livermore up to 81 degrees, well below the normal of 89. golden gate bridge cameras, showing you the low clouds, napa, pleasant weather in concorde and livermore, emeryville camera showing you our marine layer with us right now. we are looking at a cloudy, drizzly morning sunnier weather with warmer conditions inland. take a look at the water vapor imagery. this area of low pressure kept the marine layer deep, brought us drizzly conditions. we will see some changes. >> that low is actually going to start to track southward as we head in towards tomorrow and it will move through southern california. we'll start to return back to
