>> disturbing developments involving a 2-year-old girl hit and killed in a crosswalk. tonight an arrest, but not the driver of the car. good evening. i'm dan ashley. it was a fatal mistake. gregory was hit and killed in san francisco and tonight her aunt, the woman watching her that night was booked for child endangerment. abc7 news reporter cornell bernard is live in the city with new details. >> it is a surprising turn that even relatives didn't expect. the memorial to her located not far from the crosswalk where she was hit. her own aunt now facing charges as the search for the driver goes on. >> parents are holding on tight to their kids. it is the same crosswalk where 2-year-old gregory was killed by a hit-and-run driver while walking with her aunt. >> ms. gage crossed against the signal. >> her aunt was arrested for child endangerment. police say unreleased

surveillance video show gage walking the 2-year-old against the traffic and walked back to get her twin brother. >> she turned around and left the toddler unattended in the middle of the street to go back to the sidewalk to get the 2-year-old boy. >> moments later she was struck and killed by a car. her great grandmother told me that the arrest is shocking. >> i think it is devastating. that she could be so careless to let a little 2-year-old stand in the street. >> security cameras captured the car that struck her. it was a white 4-door sedanssiba possibly a lexus, toyota or honda with a mitts matched dark colored bumper. the driver may not have known they hit the child. >> if you can imagine a 2-year-old, their stature is small. we don't know if they knew or they didn't. >> those stoping to see say the tragedy could have been prevented. >> you have to keep an eye at

all times. especially young kids. >> her funeral will be held on sunday. in san francisco, cornell bernard, abc7 news. developing news, scientists are trying to determine if a california man has the first case of deadlyvire ebola virus in the state. a patient in sacramento may have been exposed and is being kept in a special negative pressure isolation room at kaiser's south sacramento medical center. doctors september a blood sample for testing. it will be several days before they get a result. kaiser did not say if the patient was in west africa where ebola has killed more than 1100 people. happening now, long shore worker tees port of oakland are unloading a ship that was the focus of protests. pro palestinian demonstrators blocked the port's terminals trying to prevent the unloading of the vessel that is partially owned by israeli shareholders. earlier today

the ship left port and then reversed course heading back to oakland. the long shore union refused to unload the ship. no word on why workers decided to go ahead and off load the cargo. now to the unrest in ferguson, missouri. tomorrow a grand jury will hear evidence in the michael brown shooting case, but tonight the anger still fills the streets. one man had to be held back from police. officers charged protesters several times sending them running. one officer pepper sprayed a crowd of people. several were a arrested. one person created what he called a peace train adding to a spectacle that has drawn people from across the country. the protest and grand jury case come as anoth police shooting stirred anger just four miles away. a a bc news reporter toman

killed by a ferguson police officer. brown's funeral will be held on monday. the officer at the center of the storm was interviewed by the local authorities and wilson's good friend who asked we conceal his identity is now speaking out. >> darrin is a good person and they have immediately jumped to label him as a cold blooded murderer. >> a grand jury will hear evidence on wednesday, but it is not clear how long it will take to decide whether wilson will be charged. you ferguson, missouri. new at 11:00, a chicago musician who is performing in san francisco tonight just arrived from visiting ferguson. he gave us a glimpse from the front lines. >> it is hectic. it is chaotic. that's what ferguson is. it was a communal event of people surviving and dealing with it together.

eventually the moisture is expected to come toward the desert southwest. that could enhance the monsoon rainfall. of course when you have these tropical systems you need the warm water to sustain them. i am watching warm water. look at the bouie temperatures. half moon bay and monterey bay, low to mid60s. even bodega bay is at 58 degrees. that's also responsible for why you are seeing such mild temperatures. from our exploratorium camera, some low clouds and temperatures are in the low to mid60s. running higher by a few degrees. i just had to make some adjustments to the low temperatures. temperatures in the low 60s 60s in novato and pretty uniform and here is a view from the kgo roof camera.
