where the man jumped. a resident says the man was living here at the hotel and they thing he may have jumped out of fear thinking he had no other option. >> traffic on southbound 880 going into hair was backed up for miles during the commute because of a fatal accident at industrial parkway. police say a man jumped from the overpass on to the interstate at 4:30 this morning and hit and killed by a big rig. it could sound like a clear case of suicide but miss -- police say, think again. >> it is more of a crime. it doesn't look like a suicide. >> why he jumped is part of the investigation. miss say because of what witnesses have told them, they are digging deeper. >> potentially there could be other reasons he upped. until we can get enough information to make that

decision what we know he upped. why? we have not determined. call it a suicide or homicides we don't know. the man bass walking with a woman and someone in a car roll up on them and pulled a gun. the woman ran. the man suffers from scoliosis. he could not run. that could have been the only option. in what situation would a man jumping to his death be considered a crime? >> there was a criminal cause he was trying to avoid. maybe an attack on his person, potentially, that could be a crime. that is something the d.a. would decide. >> we have seen a last activity this morning at the hotel and a lot of officers including investigators from the district

attorney. he took a man away not in handcuffs but for questioning. it does look like the investigation is far from over. >> we have developing news in the story of a journalist killed by terrorists in syria. we have heard from rebound and the parents of the reporter killed. intelligence said a video released by terrorists showing an american journalist is authentic. matt keller joins us with more. >> british and united states officials are concerned of the threat by isis militants and what could happen to other journalists held hostage. president obama made a statement before 10:00 our time saying the world is appalled at the murder of jim foley but that will set not stop the united states from confronting extremists. the united states of america will do what we can do to protect our people. we will be vigilant.

thank you, katie. san francisco police have made an arrest on a hit-and-run accident death of a little girl but not the driver. the 2-year-old's aunt, loyresha gage, put the child in harm's way. surveillance video shows loyresha gage walking mi'yana gregory against the light and loyresha gage last the toddler in the street and walked back to the sidewalk to get her nephew and that is when a car hit mi'yana gregory. police are searching for the driver. >> positive news from the fire lines near yosemite. ever advantage objections have been lifted if residents living close to a wildfire bumping near the national park. they issued an update. the corruption fire burning is now 40 percent contained this morning and has charred over 600 acres. nine structures have burned. higher humidity and lower winds gave the firefighters a break yesterday and helped slow the fire's growth. there is still no word on what sparked the fire. >> attorney general holder is in
