uncle of oscar grant is just back from ferguson he gave michael brown's family advice. >> yes. he did. the two families live 1800 miles apart, yet the two families share something in common they both lost a loved one at the hands of a police officer. sefus johnson stood as south bay religious leaders prayed for justice. johnson just returned home from the bay area, spending a week in ferguson. he met with the family of michael brown. they share much in common. johnson's nephew, oscar grant was shot and killed five years ago but a bart police officer. johnson counselled michael brown's family. >> he's anger and hurt. i understand, but this is the part where we have to continue to stay on course and utilize in our spiritual eyes and inner

file a federal civil rights lawsuit. the 28-year-old was in vernal heights park when police got calls reporting a man with a gun. vick? >> this is the park where he was shot and killed by police. a police investigation cleared the officers and we're told they're now back on the streets the controversy continues to grow now that this case is going to the federal courts. >> the 28-year-old was shot and killed last march in vernal heights park. officers encountered him in the park. police say they fired when he appeared to draw a weapon.

that turned out to be a taser. attorney john burress says he will file the federal lawsuit on friday the same plan orring that were organized. >> this lawsuit begins the machinery of justice. >> this is the actual weapon. >> the police chief says it looked to officers like a real gun. >> every indication is that officers were firing in defense of their lives. >> he says there is a great disconnect between what police say and what witnesses saw. witnessed state alex didn't point a taser at any officers. >> the fact he had a taser is not basis to shoot and kill

services confirmed they discovered that body at 12,000 feet. so now, staff is in the process of recovering this body. as you said, the search has been halted as they wait for identification. he brought his love of the outdoors into the second grade classroom last year. >> greg seemed to just relate to kids, be able to kind of work with them. >> he was such posed to pick up the key to his new room at a new school on monday but he didn't come home from a hike on king's canyon national road. >> he had a detailed itinerary and he sticks to that. >> with a full beard, long hair he looked at home in the mountains over of phone, his brother-in-law says he was. >> greg is an avid experienced hiker, he has been backpacking for 20 years.

days, backpacking in an area he had never been before. he told his friends to look for him if he wasn't back after the eight day hike. >> investigators say the death of a man who fell on to interstate 880 and hit by a big rig. first, it appeared to be a suicide but authorities backed away from the conclusion after speaking to a witness. police aren't saying what the witness told them. abc7 news says he was seen walking with a woman when someone in a car pulled a gun on them. the man couldn't because of a disability and possibly thought jumping was the only option. >> cheerleaders from yosemite high school greeted firefighters as they passed along highway 41 this morning. they wanted to thank the crews for saving the town from the flames. the fire burned 600 acres it destroyed three homes and two

efforts to help birds, looking for volunteers to check outside of their homes for dead or injured birds, determining how often birds are crashing into windows and if there are parts of the city where it's a particular issue. the city is focusing on parks and open green spaces. >> there are things you can do like putting up blinds, and insect screens, dangling things in front of the window like strings or pieces of of bam boochlt there are more extensive options or film you can put on the window. >> if you do have windows that are a hazard, the city has a limited amount of grant funding. >> the ice bucket challenge is not slowing down. so far, social media phenomenon raised $31 million for als. the latest the police chief and
