son captured in northern syria a year ago. no confirmation yet from the white house but the video is authentic. >> thanks for joining us. we have major sign of recovery in the not bay after a 6.0 magnitude earthquake hit nine days ago. the earthquake damaged schooled are re-opening. amy hollyfield joins us from napa with the story. >> you can tell there was a big earthquake in nap what with the roof of st. john's baptist church but next store they have pass patching up the school and are running to normal. you can still see large cracks in some of the walls at st. john the baptist school in napa and 20 percent of the school is yellow tagged and still closed. the students are finally back in class today a week after the earthquake.

parents and students tell us that it is time to get back into the routine. >> they look forward to coming back-to-school to get back to see their friends. they are apprehension because of the earthquake but they happy to come back. >> the building is ready but the principal wants to make sure the students are, too, and opened today with anarch -- an earthquake drill. >> we will take our skews from the kids and they will be on alert. we will make sure to read them carefully. >> the students have continue a lot sharing and it is good that we have moved passed it. >> the things are not quite back to normal and they have built and decorated a construction wall blocking off the school that is considered unstable. 7th grade now is in the library and 8th grade is in the art room and the principal

dough berman and yanking it up by a leash. center place said he donated $100,000 to a foundation for animals and still faces potential criminal charges in vancouver. >> dozens of people have been allowed back if their apartment building after a fire in the tenderloin district with planes erupting from jones street at 6:30 this morning and 65 people were evacuated from apartments above the shop and there was a danger of the fire spreading to northbound by builtings before the crews arrived and took the firefighters an hour to put the fire out. a firefighter sprained an ankle fighting the blaze. >> another fire in sonoma shut down a high school gym for at left the next few days. fire crews were called to healdsburg high school at 3:00 this morning and quickly put out the flames and contained the fire to the jim. officials believe an electrical problem could be to blame. >> crews battling the happy camp complex fire in northern

california are warning residents that the flames could jump out of nowhere right up to their homes. officials say the unstable air could push the embers two miles and has now bound 100 square miles and now is only 15 percent contained. remember this is burning since august 11 and 250 homes are under mandatory evacuation orders and another 695 are considered threatened. >> police are investigating a break in at the indonation consulate -- indonesian consulate at columbus avenue. officers spotted a broken window and found a trespassing sleeping insided building. >> he came in. he break a window. he went to the second floor and perhaps he was wandering on the third floor and finally he went to the roof and locked himself

in. >> happen was backed open suspicion of vandalism and trespassing. he has been identified as 26-year-old tobias spencer of south carolina and did not steal anything so they are not sure exactly why he broke into the consulate. >> 48-year-old okly man has died after a train crashed into his s.u.v. which was on the tracks in the east bay. the train slammed into the tracks just after 10:00 last night. the coroner is investigating this as a suicide. train was headed to seattle but delayed it for hours. he left after 3:00 this morning. >> rescue crews have resumed the search for a swimmer who went missing in point reyes national seashore in his 20 on a family outing with heap and several others swam crass the mouth of the bay when the tide was out. on the swim back against the

current with the tide coming back in he disappeared. two teams and search egg on jet skis and a helicopter are helping with the seven. >> an 18-year-old man has been arrested on driving under thefully after crashing a car into a home and caused a gas leak after midnight. police say the vehicle sheared off a gas meter and damaged the home. authorities of evacuated homes as a precautionens it too three hours to stop the gas leak because it landed on top of the meter forcing the crews to dig around the property to find a place to cap the line. the driver of the car was not hurt. >> right how in san francisco ceremonies dedicating 20 heroes of the lgbt community and it seems it will be easy to see as walking through the castro. matt keller is in san francisco

>> another american doctor has contracted ebola virus, the unnamed doctor works for the missionary group in the hospital in liberia and not treating ebola patients. rather, he was seeing parents away from the ebola isolation unit so it is not clear how he came in contact with the virus.

first to see sunshine today as we look near the shark tank and as you look back from emeryville it is something you will see for better part of the day. you will not get the britness the rest of us will get but all of us ping to get the cool freeze with more clouds tonight and drizzle at the coast is likely and it looks like a steady pattern the next couple days. we will watch the depth of the main layer to gauge how much the temperature is going to change if at all. this is how it looks from south beach this morning. looking back at san francisco we are about six degrees cooler if we are lucky, probably more like 65 is the high. you can see napa and oakland and livermore and palo alto 12 to 14 degrees cooler. and the 82 in san jose, 79 in milpitas, the warm spot is gilroy at 87 and mid-to-upper 70's most of the peninsula and milbrae is 72 and mid-60's along the coast into downtown and south san francisco and sausalito could hutch 70.

low-to-mid 80's through the north bay valley and low-to-mid 20 and mid-80's federally 90 in our inland east bay neighborhoods. going to the game tonight, it will be cool, at 65 at 7:00, can dropping down to 62 by the help the game and all the temperatures drop into the 50's and 60 and the clouds are more widespread but, still, have a hard time getting to the east bay and south by. temperatures, because of the thicker marine layer one or to degree cooler and we ping-pong back-and-forth between the temperatures in the mid-to-upper 80's and up to 80 an the bay and mid-60's at the coast. so, pretty quiet pattern other than the drizzle the next couple of mornings near the coast. >> netflix is give the users more discredit way to recommend movies and t shows to facebook friends. they realize most people do not want to share their viewing habits with large audiences and
