driving and driving under the influence. the jeep slammed into a rug store and dry cleaner at flower avenue at 12:30 this morning and knocked out a gas main and water pipes. police initially tried to pull the driver over on santa rosa avenue to miles away. two people in the jeep were taken to the hospital. the driver is identified at 51 -year-old from southern california. >> happening now, fast food workers from coast to coast are walking off the job demanding higher wages. >> this morning, police in new york and detroit handcuffed several protests who were blocking traffic rallying for the $15 wage and the right to form a union without retaliation. organizers said they would engage in nonviolent civil disobedience to draw more attention to their cause. and here in the bay area we treated this picture of fast food workers going into a mcdonald's on oakland on

a dozen people escaped serious injury when a science experiment at a museum took a dangerous turn with 13 people hurt in a chemical flash at the discovery museum, most of them were children. it happened during a tornado experiment when chemicals were mixed incorrectly. eight children and one adult received care at the hospital for burns and smoke inhalation. >> the new york state health department is investigating the clinic where joan rivers was undergoing a medical procedure when she went into cardiac arrest. she was moved from intensive care into a private hospital room yesterday and was hospitalized last week. no word today on her condition. state investigators have new visited the clinic where rivers
