live from the kgo broadcast center, this is abc 7 news. >> it is sunday, september 14. let's start with a quick look at the weather, here's the meteorologist. >> hi, everyone, live doppler hd depicting cloud coverage along the shoreline. low clouds and fog are just over parts of the bay here. temperatures are in the 60s for most areas. 63 in san carlos, yanother warm afternoon for most of you, we had a little bit of cooling yesterday in our inland east bay. that continues today, we'll have the high clouds in the mix for some of you, but overall, mostly

sunny conditions, we have 80s for much of the south bay, 60s along the coast, 70s across the bay and the cooldown, under way today, it gets more robust in the days to come. breaking news out of richmond where a suspect has died in an officer involved shooting. shortly after midnight, police responded to uncle sam's liquor store on cutting boulevard. officers have not told us yet exactly what happened, but an altercation occurred leaving a man dead inside the store. the officer was not injured. as routine procedure, he has been placed on administrative leave while the incident is investigated by the police department and the contra costa county district attorney's office. sonoma county authorities are investigating the death of a woman in here home. it was just after 7:00 last

night when a man called 911. he reported that his wife attacked him with a knife and he shot her. investigators discovered the victim's body and said the husband was bedridden, unable to walk. an 11-year-old girl was killed this morning during a traffic accident on northbound 280. it was just before 1:00 when officers responded to a report of pedestrians on the shoulder of the freeway. they told police they lost control of their suv, and had driven down an embankment. the girl was killed when the suv crashed into a tree. officers said it appeared everyone was wearing seat belts and alcohol does not appear to be a factor. developing news out of iraq this morning. where the militant group isis had sent yet another grizly video of a brutal execution and continues to elude u.s. drones.

rain ross has the latest. >> reporter: the victim was british, but the brutal video message was clearly aimed at the united states. it was the same these -- 44-year-old david haynes was forced to kneel in an orange jump suit. >> prime minister, what are your thoughts about the hostage? >> reporter: overnight the prime minister returned to 10 downing street for a series of emergency meetings to be held today. in a statement on twitter, david cameron said we will do everything in our power to bring -- went to syria as a civilian with a french aid group. haynes was no strange tore the world's hot spots. this was him 11 years ago when he served as an aid worker

developing news from southern california, an evacuation order remains in effect for more than 200 homes in orange county silverado canyon as a wildfire continues to burn in the cleveland national forest. flames have charred 1,500 acres. it's 15% contained. triple-digit temperatures are expected again today. that plus rugged terrain makes it pretty tough for the more than 800 firefighters battling the flames. a brush fire has destroyed seven homes and more are being threateninged. a viewer kimberly mitchell provided smoke from the fire. so far the flames have burned at least 130 acres. red cross workers have set up a shelter for people who have lost

their homes and for those who have had to evacuate. today is the 49ers much anticipated home opener against the bears as well as another test for the new levis stadium. crews have been going like crazy to try to get everything ready and fans need to be ready for the traffic and the heat. abc 7 news reporter nick smith has the details. >> reporter: the wait is nearly over and the final security pieces are being put in place. levy's stadium is prepared to welcome over 70,000 49ers fan to their new stadium. >> we got here earlier today, we're going to be here until monday. i expect habernick to kick their butts like he did on his debut. >> reporter: they have avoided the traffic trouble that have become notorious what levy's stadium. attempts to solve the parking and transportation woes have

and her new season starts tomorrow. little bit too hot to be stuck in the kitchen today. >> all right, you know what? we are warming up quickly again, another day where temperatures will be above normal, high pressure, though, this dominant ridge is slowly sliding to the east. and as it does in response, we'll get a push of marine air. this is going to cool us down. more tomorrow, and then into tuesday and wednesday. there's a system to the north that could bring us a few sprinkles. i'll show it to you. here's a look from our future tower camera, where you can see what's left of the lower clouds, a lot of numbers in the 60s, 64 at the airport, as well as oakland. san carlos, still some clouds for you as well as half moon bay. santa cruz, it's gray here, but not for long, temperatures into the 70s throughout the afternoon. but look at the temperature in santa rosa, some low clouds are

sitting there, just 66 for you, while concord and livermore have been sunny all afternoon. brightening up in san jose, you can ski a little bit of cloud cover here. temperatures will be above average here, a few high clouds that will not slow our warming down today, the fog stays at the coast, and it will be seasonal there, a little bit above average inland, and the cooler pattern, but there is a system offshore, a couple that will link up and bring some interesting weather mainly to the north of us. southerly swell into the day tomorrow. and that will create a strong rip current all the way down through santa cruz, so dangerous conditions at the beach, but we are watching a system here and another one with these two linking up, it will bring the cooler air down to seasonal levels, beginning tomorrow and as the system moves on in, it's going to drag a little bit of

precip into northern california. but for us, more clouds layers, more of a sea breeze, you can see the moisture offshore here by wednesday morning. we could see some sprinkles in marin and sonoma, on tuesday night. texans in town visiting the raiders where temperatures will be in the 70s. plenty of sunshine there, a nice day burks it's going to be warm, even at 5:30, it will be around 08 degrees here u with temperatures dropping through the 70s and the 60s, sun setting at 7:19. so looking at our highs today around the bay, we were in the upper 90s, mid 90s today, 92 in concord, 80 in freemont. 80 in redwood city, more upper 70s at the beach in santa cruz. 80 in san rafael. partly sunny skies there, the accu-weather seven-day forecast today, the warmest day as we

our meteorologist. just about the last clear to clear santa cruz and sonoma with cloudy skies. temperatures here are mild in the 60s, but up in santa -- on our way to another warm afternoon for mows of u you. numbers will be mild across the bay with so it's just a little bit cooler, we'll talk about more cooling and more cloud cover coming up. breaking news, we have more information to share with you about that officer involved shooting in richmond early this morning. the victim is a richmond resident, a man in his 20s. police had arrested him friday night on a dui. last night, an officer on patrol saw people hanging outside uncle sam's liquor store on cutting boulevard and approached them.

police say the victim was drunk and tried to take the officer's gun. according to authorities, the officer tried to tase him, but was unable to reach that device and shot him instead. now to the nfl, rocked by two explosive scandals. of course there is ray rice, released by the ravens, seen on video, punching his now wife. this weekend, he made his first public appearance since that scandal. here's abc news reporter ryan smyth with the latest. >> reporter: tonight adrian peterson won't be in uniform as prosecutors claim he was criminal lly negligent in strikg his 4-year-old son with a branch. >> we take all allegations of

abuse against children very seriously. >> reporter: smiling for this mug shot. in jail for less than 30 minutes before being released and returning to minnesota on the same private lane. and white peterson's attorney says he was simply disciplining his child, prosecutors say the nfl star may have gone too far. >> a grand jury having indicted this case looked at the slinjurs that were inflicted upon this child and determined that the discipline was not reasonable. >> reporter: peterson now faces up to two years in prison. he has not yet entered a plea. and the nfl reviewing peterson's case under its personal conduct policy. >> if family violence and domestic violence is going to be addressed, then the peterson issue does come into play. >> reporter: this as ray rice made his first public appearance with his wife and baby daughter

talking weather. >> that fog has evaporated quickly in most neighborhoods. we are on our way to a sunny day today, a few high clouds visiting us from time to time. here's a live look at our hd. we're keeping temperatures in the 60s at most of our beaches. san carlos, san jose, sunny skies, numbers in the low 60s there. half moon bay, even aftt 64 degrees. those ocean water temperatures still very, very warm and we're looking at mid and upper 70s this afternoon in santa cruz where it's still a little bit gray. speaking of gray, santa rosa, how about 56 degrees that, little fog patch right over you will continue to shrink and evaporate, you'll be in the sunshine in 60 minutes. 35 in fairfield with the

sunshine in our east bay valleys, it won't be quite as warm here in livermore. i think maybe liver more. a few high clouds and fog this morning, otherwise the seasonal temperatures stay at the coast. the cooler pattern coming our way tomorrow, slowly, temperatures coming down each and every day. so the southerly swell increases today right along the coast. those south facing beaches, that will include stinson beach and santa cruz. so pretty dangerous up there with the risk of strong rip currents. so be careful. here's what's going on. it's interesting that we have got a couple of systems linking up offshore and as we do, we'll continue to see the marine layer get taller, the sea breeze kick up and with the cooler days forecasted monday and tuesday, we'll add to some cloud layers, especially late tuesday and wednesday. it looks like some of this
