open fire. officials did not realize a car was in the middle of the fire it was so big. when they got the fire out all that was left was a big chunk of metal. the car was traveling eastbound at 11 o'clock last night. it clipped a white s.u.v. with a family including children. the car crashed down the embankment and the two inside died. [ inaudible ] the white s.u.v. recovered and pulled to the right shoulder and there were no injuries. had were several small children in the wreck. everyone was okay. >> driver of the s.u.v. said the car that crashed was speeding and it veered to the right suddenly and clipped the s.u.v. and crashed. everyone inside the s.u.v. is okay. no one knows why the car

suddenly veered or why the driver was going so fast. >> developing news in el dorado county, highway 50 is closed both directions because of a massive wildfire. the king fire has grown to 12,4780 acres since saturday. 500 homes are under mandatory evacuations. 50 is now closed for five miles and 1,500 firefighters are facing steep terrain and high winds expected. >> another fire has destroyed a large portion of weed, california, near the oregon border. firefighters have gained the upper hand but not before it damage or destroyed 150 buildings including two
