midnight. in walnut creek we have the latest on the investigation. it appears she got out of the car to try and flag down help. her car hid hazards on but she was out of the car when she was hit. this happened southbound 680 with c.h.p. officers following up on whether she ran out of gas or had mechanical problems. authorities say the driver of car that hit her stop and cooperated. witnesses say the driver was physically upset. the william's identity is not released. this happened after 11 o'clock last night at walnut creek. the c.h.p. shut down the on-ramp southbound direction for a couple of hours. it has been re-opened now.
